- Look at the pictures and try to guess the topic of our lesson. - What can you see in this picture? - What animals can you see in this picture? Have you ever been to the Zoo? - And what can you see in this picture? - So, what will be the topic of our lesson? -You’re right! Let’s formulate it together.
- What will be the aim of our lesson then? What are we going to do today? So, our lesson plan is: review the names of animals, remember types of transport, learn new words and guess some riddles about animals. | Ss answer: Good afternoon! Good afternoon! - So, children. We are going to the zoo. How can we get there? Look at the screen. People can travel by plane/car .., but on foot. How can we travel? Let’s remember the names of transport. Look at these pictures. Say it in turn. Use preposition “by”. - Let us repeat the names of all these means of transport. (T shows pictures of transport means and names them.) - How can we go to the zoo from Divnogorsk (to our zoo in Krasnoyarsk)?
Software Level 2 - Unit 7 – Activity 1 - And now, let’s revise the names of transport and do some activities on your laptops. For this, let’s go to Little Bridge School. Click on Learn English, then on Levels. Select Level 2. Click on Activities - Drawer 7 ”A day out” - Activity 1. Listen to the task. Let’s first do it together. Listen and repeat. - Now it’s your turn. Do it yourselves. Put on your earphones. You’ve got 1 min for this task. Click on ABC to see the words. Try to remember them.
-Are there any new words? Name them. Software Level 2 - Unit 7 – Activity 2 Teacher only demonstrates and explains this activity. You can do this activity at home. Use a telescope to find different types of transport. For example: Find a bus Software Level 2 - Unit 7 – Activity 3 - Let’s do activity 3. Listen to the task attentively. Listen and click on one button on the left on the means of transport, and then click on the place on the right. For example: We are going to the zoo by train. (T demonstrates the activity)
- Children, I’m very tired. Are you tired? Now it’s time to have a rest. Take off your earphones. Please, stand up. Let’s play “Clap your hands or stamp your feet” game. If you hear the names of wild animals, clap your hands. If you hear the names of transport means, stamp your feet. Is it clear? - Giraffe, train, monkey, plane, lion, goat, etc. - Let’s do some commands. Mime them. - Swim like a fish, jump like a kangaroo, climb like a monkey, walk like a giraffe, run like a zebra, etc. - Thank you/ Take your places, please. - Imagine we are at the zoo gate. To get to the zoo we must buy a ticket. But we have no money. So, to get it you have to do some tasks. Take a ticket and write down as many names of animals as you can. You’ve got 1 minute. - Now let’s do some more tasks. Look at the screen and try to unscramble the words. - The next task - Guess some riddles. (1. It lives in Africa. It’s got four legs and a long neck. It likes to eat leaves from a tree.2. It’s very big and grey. It’s got a long nose called a trunk. It can run and swim.3. This animal has got white and black stripes. It can run very fast.) Software Level 2 - Unit 7 – Activity 4 - We can go to the zoo now. Come on! What will we see? Meet the animals. -Let’s do Activity 4. Click on it. What can you see? Do you know all these animals? Put on your earphones. - Your task is to click, listen and practice the names of the animals at the zoo. Then, listen to some statements about Toby. Click on ABC and try to remember the spelling of the words. Your time is up. Take off your earphones. - Look at the pictures of animals on the board. Your task is to choose the animals of our zoo. Stick them here. Name the animals. - What new animals have we met? Name them. - What’s your favourite animal? Ask each other a question. Work in pairs. Software Level 2 - Unit 7 – Activity 5 Writing activity - Now I want to check how you can spell the names of the zoo animals. Look. You can see a part of animal’s body. Try to guess the animal and type in the name. Time limit- 4 min. - It was the last task. To log out, click on the “Log out” button on the homepage (top right), then on “Yes” button. Switch off your laptops. | - by bike /train /plane / boat /helicopter /bus/ motorbike/ lorry (Ss repeat chorally.) - We can go to the zoo by bus/ by cars/ by train. (Ss repeat the words.) (Ss practice in using the vocabulary of transport means. In the first part of the activity, children click, listen and repeat the names of transport. In the second part, they hear a name and have to click on the right picture.) - boat, motorbike (Children listen to some statements about travel. They have to click on the left to confirm how the person is travelling and on the right to confirm where they are going.) - Yes. (Ss listen and do.) (Ss imitate the actions.) (Ss write down the names of animals on their tickets) (Ss unscramble the words) (Ss guess riddles) - Is it a giraffe? - Is it an elephant? - Is it a zebra? - Zoo map. - Yes, we do. Ss listen to some statements about where Toby is or what he is looking at and then click on the right place on the zoo map. (Ss go to the board, find the animals of Little Bridge Zoo and stick them in a column.) - A tiger and a lizard. S1: What’s your favourite animal? S2: It’s a lion./ My favourite animal is a monkey.
