The theme of the lesson: Daily life

The aim: by the end of the lesson Ss will be able to tell about their daily activities using Present Simple Tense;

Objectives: Students will have practiced in:

  1. reciting poems;
  2.  answering questions about their daily activities;
  3. making up sentences in Present Simple and Present Progressive;

Materials and equipment: crossword, pictures, photos of  Big Ben and  the Kremlin Clock, CD

Language to be revised: lexis on topic “Daily life”

Grammar to be revised: Present Simple and Present Progressive

I1.Look at the blackboard and do the crossword to name the theme of the lesson

Give the equivalents of the following words:

2. What other words and word combinations can you name on the topic?

II Oral speech. Reciting of the poems.

a)I have a riddle for you. Tick – tock, tick-tock; What is it? It’s a clock.

What is the name of the famous English clock? What do you know about  Big Ben?

Do you know the famous Russian clock?

Where is it? Does it show the exact time?

b) Recite the poems about the clocks

 “ Big Ben” ( 2 poems)

  “What does the clock say?”

III Answering the questions

Now let’s answer my questions:

  1. When do you usually get up?
  2. Do you do exercises every day?
  3. What do you do after exercises?
  4. When do you clean your teeth?
  5. At what time do you go to school?
  6. Do you have lunch at school or at home?
  7. When does your Granny usually go for a walk?
  8. When do you usually do your homework?
  9. What do you do in the evening?
