Класс: 8
Цель: углубление и расширение знаний учащихся об экологии
Задачи:
Учебные:
1) введение и семантизация новых лексических единиц по теме;
2) совершенствование навыков аудирования;
3) активизация навыков поискового чтения;
4) совершенствование навыков монологической;
5) использование изученной грамматики (Conditional Sentences) в устной речи.
Развивающие :
1) развитие мышления, внимания, памяти, языковой догадки;
2) развитие самостоятельности и креативности;
3) развитие умений взаимодействия в паре/группе;
4) расширение кругозора (развитие лингвострановедческой компетенции).
Воспитывающие:
1) убедить учащихся в важности решения экологических проблем;
2) воспитывать уважение к собеседнику, умение выслушать;
3) научить ребят сотрудничеству и работе в парах.
Ход урока:
1. Организационный момент. Приветствие.
Good morning, girls and boys! Glad to see you. Sit down, please.

Listen to me very attentively. You should guess the theme of our lesson. What are we going to talk about? Are you ready?
People have been living on the Earth for thousands of years. They build houses, power stations, roads, use mineral resources of the Earth. But they don’t think that the supply of it is limited. People constantly influence our planet and change it. Nowadays you notice that there are a lot of droughts, earthquakes, floods. The climate is changing. Snow is melting on the North Pole. I think in such way the Earth is answering to people because it is suffering. Who can help it?
What will we talk about? And what should we do?

T: What is a problem of our lesson?
P: The problem of our lesson is to show the ways how to help our planet.
T: Look at the slide and read the sign at the entrance of the National Canadian Natural park. (Slide 2).
Walk lightly on the Earth. See but don’t be seen. Hear, but don’t be heard.
What you carry in, carry out. Take only memories, leave only footprints.
Легко шагай по планете Земля. Смотри, но будь невидим. Слушай, но будь бесшумен. Что принёс, унеси с собой. Возьми только воспоминания и оставь только следы (Надпись на входе в Канадский национальный природный парк)
T: To my mind this sign is very exact. Our planet is in danger. We should think about it. (There is a drawing of the Earth on the blackboard.) Look at the blackboard and imagine that it is our planet. How do people influence the Earth?
Let’s write the most crucial problems which impact on the planet negatively.

T: Many years ago people didn’t have the slightest idea of the term ecology, but nowadays reading newspapers, listening to the radio or watching TV we meet this word regularly, so what is ecology?
P: Ecology is the study of plants and animals in relation to their environment.
T: Yes, but while telling us about ecological problems our ecologists use many ecological notions. Let’s have a look at some of these notions. Let’s read and translate them. (Slide 3)
Glossary
Acid rain – when harmful gases from cars and power plants are released into the air and fall back to the Earth with rain or snow.
Atmosphere – all the gases around the Earth
Carbon dioxide – a gas in the atmosphere. The gas that we breathe out.
Ecology – the study of organisms and their environment.
Ecosystem - a community of plants and animals living together.
Global warming – an increase in the Earth’s temperature, caused by a build-up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Ozone (O ) – a type of oxygen
Ozone layer – this is in the atmosphere, between 10km and 60km above the Earth. The ozone stops a lot of the ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
Recycle – to use over and over again. Renewable resource.
T: Let’s write it down into your vocabularies.

T: We live in Krasnoslobodsk and we have a lot of ecological problems. What are they?
Now your task is to describe one of the ecological situations and give some advice how to solve it.
Cards with ecological situations:
- Krasnoslobodsk looks very dull.
- There is a lot of litter in the streets.
- The roads are dirty and dangerous.
- The danger of the flu.
- Pollution of the river Moksha.
- Homeless dogs in the streets.
(Pupils discuss the following situations.)
Thank you for your work. I wonder what would you do in the following situations?

- Если бы мы заботились о нашей планете, мы бы не имели так много экологических проблем.

- Can you see pollution at the seaside?
- People are in danger, aren’t they?
- What are the most serious environmental problems now?
- How can we solve them?

Our Earth is so beautiful. Nature gives people its riches to live and enjoy. We cannot live without fresh air, clean water, sunshine and a lot of things, which must take care of it. We must keep our rivers and lakes, forests and towns clean. We must plant flowers, feed birds and animals in winter. Then we’ll be happy to live on the most beautiful planet in the Universe.
Учитель оценивает работу каждого ученика, комментировано выставляя отметки; благодарит учащихся за работу и прощается с ними.
