You are an 3rd course  students living in the 21st century.  Your passion is computers and you would like to learn  more about them. Your knowledge of computer technology is changing.  Computers play an important role in the lives of most of us today and have become a necessary part of modern life. There’s a little doubt that computers and their applications are among the most significant technical achievements of the centuries. Are you ready to discover the reasons of of computer’s popularity?

Task

Your job in this WebQuest is to research and explore the   impact of a computer and internet  on society, its use for educational purposes according the tasks of the groups.

(1) You will discover how computers have changed the lives of millions of people.  Your research will be based on a series of questions on different aspects to demonstrate what you have learned. These questions will be found on the process page.  

(2) You will create a PowerPoint presentation to show some aspects individually the task. Within these aspects include the answers to the questions posted on the process page. Include a timeline to the presentation as well.

(3) You will create a  KWL chart to record your knowledge on this topic.

(4) You will present the PowerPoint presentation to the group.

2) You will use the internet as the primary resource for information. Use different online sources to collect information for the PowerPoint presentation. Recommended websites:

4) Your PowerPoint presentation should include:


         - A brief description of the main aspects .

         - Answer the questions listed. 
         - A minimum of 10 slides is required.
         - Include a timeline.

         - Include a Chart.

          - Follow PowerPoint format to create your own presentation.

Poor presentation. There was no clear or logical organizational structure, just lots of facts. Uses other people's ideas, but does not give them credit. Use of font, color, graphics, effects etc. but these often distract from the presenation content.

Satisfactory presentation. Content is logically organized for the most part. Uses other people's ideas (giving them credit), but there is little evidence of original thinking. Makes use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. but occasionally these detract from the presentation content.

Good presentation. Uses headings or bulleted lists to organize, but the overall organization of topics appears flawed. Product shows some original thought. Work shows new ideas and insights. Makes good use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance to presentation.

Excellent Presentation. Content is well organized using headings or bulleted lists to group related material. Product shows a large amount of original thought. Ideas are creative and inventive. Makes excellent use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance the presentation.

This WebQuest basically focuses on doing a thoroughly research on the computer and its social role. The focal point of the webquest is to have students
explore how they change, changed  and will change the live of millions of people. 
Objectives/Goals:

- Given a list of online resources, student will choose at least 3 websites 
  to locate the information needed to complete the project.

- Given a list of application software programs, the student will identify at least two applications that can be use to complete a WebQuest project.
