Тема урока: «Twister. The last part»

Цели урока:

1. Закрепить лексику по теме «Twister»

2. Закрепить времена the Past Continuous и the Past Simple

Задачи:

Образовательные: 

1. Отработать лексико-грамматический материал по теме «Twister».

2. Активизировать употребление в речи учащихся времен the Past Simple и the Past Continuous.

Развивающие: 

  1. Развивать у учащихся умение общаться на английском языке.
  2. Повышать учебную мотивацию с помощью работы в парах, группах, используя современные компьютерные технологии.
  3. Формировать умение выделять главное, сравнивать и анализировать.

Воспитательные задачи:

1.Развивать сотрудничество в парной и групповой работе.

2.Развивать умение взаимооценки.

ХОД УРОКА

  1. Организационный момент.

Hello girls and boys. How are you?

Today we’re going to have an interesting game called “Smart constructors”. During today’s lesson we’re going to construct different situations, dialogues and grammar constructions. Before the lesson I’ve divided you in two teams. Your home task was to think about the names of your teams and to choose the captain.

The first team, Roma, what’s the name of your team and who is going to be the captain?

The second team, Sasha, what’s the name of your team and who is going to be the captain?

You’re going to have some tasks and get points for the victory in each competition. For extra tasks you’re going to get extra points. The winner is going to be the team which take more points during the whole game. You can see the rules on the board. They are very easy. Презентация smart constructor’s rules

Now two captains, come to me please and choose the card. Team ………………… is going to be first, and team  ………..is going to be the second.  

2.  Закрепление лексики

The first task is on the screen. You’re going to see the picture with Russian translation, name the words and expressions in English. If the answer is correct you’ll see the same picture with an English word on the screen. The name of this game is A lexical hat. Traditionally children take the cards out of the hat and translate them, but now you can see the modern version of this game.  Презентация lexical hat

3. Закрепление грамматики the Past Simple и the Past continuous.

Now your task is to make some grammar exercises. Team ………… this is your computer and team ……… this is your computer. Take your places, please.

Grammar, Unit 3 ex.3. In the first ex. you have to put the words in the correct order. Remember, each of you must take part in this task. You’ll have 3 minutes.  Are you ready? Start please.

  1. What were you doing last night?
  2. Were you listening to me?
  3. Was Paul carrying his sports bag?
  4. Were the police talking to the owner?
  5. Was the car going fast?

Team …….. how many mistakes have you got? Team ………… how many mistakes have you got?

Grammar, Unit 3 ex.5 In the second ex. You have to complete the sentences with the correct form of the words in red.

  1. They had an accident while they were driving to work.
  2. The boys were playing in the park when they heard an explosion.
  3. I was sending an e-mail when my computer crashed.
  4. Colin fell asleep while he was watching TV.
  5. Mum was making lunch when the phone rang.

Each of you must take part in this task. You’ll have 3 minutes. Are you ready? Start please.

4. Развитие навыков диалогической речи. Работа в парах.

 Unit 3, Situations, ex1. The next task. Complete the dialogues with the correct sentences.

  1. What happened to your hand, Robbie?
  2. On no! That’s scary. What did you do?
  3. What happened next?
  4. That’s good

Now, choose one of members of your team who is going to read this dialogue and get points for your team.

For this task the first team gets ……… points and the second one gets……….. points.

5. Развитие навыков говорения, работы в группах и анализа работ одноклассников.

 The next task, On our previous lesson we read the text about twister, your task was to make short dialogues between the reporter and Billy using short questions and answers in the past simple and the past continuous. In the computer you are going to complete the dialogue with the missing words. Each member of the team must take part in this task. Then you are going to change places and check the mistakes of the other team. For each found mistake you’ll get one point. Write your mistakes on this sheet of paper, after the task we’re going to discuss your ideas.

Now choose one member of you team who is going to be Billy, and your team have to choose one person who is going to be a reporter. I have a cap and a microphone to play this dialogue. Who is going to be the best get more points.

Int. At 11.15 a huge tornado hit this little town Townsville. What were you doing when you saw the tornado, Billy?

Billy I was going to the dentist’s because I had toothache.

Int. What happened?

Billy While I was crossing the street, I saw a twister.

Int. What did you do?

Billy When I saw it, I shouted ‘Twister’

Int. What did people do when they heard you?

Billy They grabbed their children, pets and ran indoors.

Int. Where did you go?

Billy The twister was already coming , so I ran  into the police station and shut the door.

Int. What happened next?

Billy A few seconds later the tornado went past.

Int. The tornado caused a lot of damage to the town, but nobody was hurt, thanks to you, Billy.

Billy Yes, but I’ve still got toothache.

6. Развитие навыка письма, говорения, работы в группах, анализа работы соперников и розыгрыша пантомимы.

The last task for today. Please take your places at the desks. Your task is to write a small text using the Past Simple and the Past Continuous. You can use these sheets of paper. For example: Yesterday at 4 o’clock I was doing my homework when somebody knocked at the door. I opened the door and saw… In this sketch, in this small text you must describe 5 activities. When you are ready, one of you will read the text. Another team will listen and make a pantomime using your activities. Is this clear? You’ll have 5 minutes for the text and 2 minutes for making a pantomime.

7. Заключительный этап.

I hope you like this lesson, thank you for the lesson. First of all let’s write down you hometask for tomorrow. You can see it on the screen.

So, today team ………….. is the winner. Congratulations. You’ll get medals. Team……… is also great today, you’ll get some sweets too. Thank you again for the lesson.
