- The war between Russia and Japan
- The Great October Socialist Revolution
- The Civil war
- The International armed Intervention
Учитель демонстрирует при помощи компьютера презентацию фотографий обсуждаемых писателей и высказывания о них.
Teacher: These great events influenced on the Russian writers’ work. I think that these words help us to start our lesson. Chekhov wrote in one of his letters in the early 1890s” …our writers have one important feature in common : they are going somewhere and calling on you to follow them…The best of them are realists and depict life as it is. They believed that our country will be free, our people will awake and see “the morning breeze”. Dear boys and girls! I ask you to look at this portrait. Do you know this writer? …Well you are right … Now we can see the portrait of the famous Russian writer Ivan Alexeyevich Bunin .
Teacher: A. Bunin’s works were a continuation of the best traditions of the Russian literature of the late 19th century. He was an outstanding representative of critical realism of the early 20th century. Gorky said that Bunin made one stop and ponder “on the stern question –will Russia be or not?” Now listen to some facts from his biography and the time when he lived and worked
(Pupil’s report)
Teacher: Do you know some information about Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy? Lenin called Lev Tolstoy the ”mirror of the Russian revolution”, the mirror that reflected both aspects of the peasant movement :strong and weak :as a “mirror” of life , a “living mirror” which gave a true reflection of reality.
(Pupil’s report)
Teacher: In this photo you can see the portrait of Alexei Nikolayevich Tolstoy. A. N Tolstoy is one of the outstanding Russian writer. His literary career began before the Great October Socialist Revolution and continued in the conditions of Soviet reality. He created a gallery of images of morally bankrupt and degenerate members of the gentry.
(Pupil’s report)
Teacher: Do you want to know some information about Anton Pavlovich Chekhov? Chekhov’s narration is known by laconism and restraint. Now look at this portrait and listen to about him.
(Pupil’s report)

He was a prominent public figure and publicist, the author of more than 700 articles and essays. He gave a true reflection of reality. He wrote “Man is born to happiness like a bird to flying”. He gave “a fresh look at many things”.
(Pupil’s report)
Teacher: Many children in the world know the name of the Russian writer Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin. His favourite heroes are children and animals. He wrote short stories but social problems were very deep in them. Lev Tolstoy wrote about Kuprin: ”He is the most talented writer of the younger generation”.
(Pupil’s report)
Teacher: Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin was ethnographer, traveler and essayist. He had a poetic perception of peasant work. His sketches, short stories about “Nature and Art “,”Man in Nature” had documentary basis. Nature-lovers admire. Prishvin’s books for their truth and rich language.
