Merry Christmas and Happy New year

Тема: Новый год, Рождество.

Цель: повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению иностранного языка, познакомить учащихся с реалиями страны изучаемого языка.

Форма:  внеклассное открытое мероприятие.

Участники: учащиеся 3-го, 11-го классов, гости мероприятия.

Ход мероприятия: 1. слово ведущих (ученицы 11 класса)

                                   2. сообщение “First Foot” (ученица 11 класса)

                                   3.слово ведущих

                                  4. демонстрация и защита новогодних костюмов (учащиеся 3-го класса)

                                  5. слово ведущих

                                  6. сценка “Christmas tree” (учащиеся 11-го класса)

                                  7. слово ведущих

                                  8. игра “Christmas football” (учащиеся и гости)

                                  9. песня “Dashing through the snow”

                                 10. подведение итогов, награждение.

Результаты: 1. учащиеся познакомились с традициями празднования Нового года и          Рождества в  Великобритании

2. разучили рождественскую песню

3. выучили стихи

4. познакомились с легендой, почему люди украшают ёлку на праздник.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year

Ведущий 1-Good morning, dear children!

Ведущий 2-good morning, dear guests and friends.

В 1-Hello, hello, hello to you,

      Hello, hello we are glad to see you!

В 2-Say “hello” and clap your hands

Don’t say “no” and, please, say “yes”

В 1-By the way what date is it today, Tanya?

В 2-well, the 20th of December. It’s Tuesday today. And why are you asking, Masha?

В 1-Oh, New Year is coming, isn’t it? Do people in England and the USA celebrate New Year? Do you know?

В 2-I don’t. But Masha does. Let’s listen to her.

Выступление Маши Калининой - In Britain the New Year is not as widely celebrated as Christmas. Some people ignore it completely and go to bed at usual time. Others, however, do celebrate it in one way or another. The most common type of celebration is a New Year party. There is a funny tradition connected with New Year: the First Foot. This is the first visitor to enter a house on New Year’s morning. He is a person of great importance. The First Foot must be a man because it is believed that if a woman first sets foot in the house, bad luck will follow throughout the year. He may be a chance caller or a person who comes on purpose to let the New Year into the house and bring good luck to the family. Traditionally, the first visitor of the year must carry food, drink and coal into the house. Coal helps to make a fire in midwinter and there shall never be lack of food and drink during the coming year.

В 1-So, you see Christmas is more popular in England and the USA. Let’s have Christmas party.

Christmas is the time when children make fancy costumes and put them on. By the way, have you got a fancy costume?

В 2-I haven’t. But our children have. Let’s look at them.

Показ новогодних костюмов и их защита (ребята читают стихи).

1. По улице шёл a cat,

Он приобрёл a hat

И возвращался в house

Мяукал «Mouse, mouse»

В Англии даже киски мяукают по- английски.

2. Повар- cook

Варил обед и спросил у кошки- cat

“А скажи-ка кошка-cat

Вискас хочешь на обед?”

“Cabbage-Сладкую капусту со сметаной очень вкусно,

А пока попроси корову- cow дать побольше молока.”

3. I’m a little funny monkey

I like to fly,

I like to swim,

I like to run, jump and sing.

4. Я по - английски -I

Пирог с начинкой-pie

Начинка- cherry jam

I pie, пожалуй, съем

Я говорю one, two    и  pie   летит ко рту

Считаю one, two, three   и  pie уже внутри,

Ах, нехороший pie  

Он не сказал good buy.

В1-Christmas is the season

      When children ski

      And old Santa Clause

      Brings the Christmas tree.

В2- Christmas is the time when people decorate Christmas trees. Why do people decorate fir trees? Do you know?

В1-I don’t. But our girls do. Let’s listen to them.

В2- Christmas is the time when people gather together and play games. Do you know any English game?

В1- Yes, of course. England is the motherland of football. Football has been played in one form or another for hundreds of years. First it was a very rude and hard game. There were no rules. But since 1863 it has been played with proper rules. That year the Football Association

(the FA) was started. Its first job was to get a set of rules for all teams. By the end of the 19-th century almost every town had its own team. The modern game was introduced to other countries by British soldiers, seamen and businessmen. Nowadays, nearly every country has its own team. One of the main competitions of the football season is the FA Cup. It has been held every May at the famous Wimble stadium in London since the middle of the 19-th century. So   let’s play « Christmas football».

Приложение №1.

Christmas tree.

The devil: Hello, hello. Do you know that Christ the Savior was born tonight?

Trees: Of course we do. Everybody knows. We are so happy!

D: You are happy. But have you got any presents for him? Everybody must give a present for God’s son.

Apple tree: Oh, I’m blossoming. I can give my flowers. They are beautiful, splendid and wonderful.

D: Flowers!? Ha-ha. O.K. and what about you?

Olive tree: I want to give him and Mary, his mother, my berries. They are so tasty and sweet. Take them.

D: I doubt if Mary likes it. But I do! And you my dear? Where is your present? I see you have many…

Fir tree: I’m so sad and unhappy, I can’t blossom, I can’t have berries. I can’t give any gifts to Mary and her son.

Angel: Don’t worry, be happy. We’ll decorate you. You’ll be the most beautiful tree in the world. You’ll give joy and happiness to children and grown-ups. You’ll be the Christmas tree.
