по английскому языку на тему:

“Great Britain”

Конспект внеклассного мероприятия «Great Britain»

Участники: учащиеся 7 «А» класса.

Цели мероприятия:

1. Обобщение изученного материала по теме: «Великобритания».
2. Развивать творческие способности учащихся.
3. Повышать мотивацию школьников к изучению предмета.
4. Развивать аудитивные, лексические и грамматические навыки обучающихся.

Задачи:

Образовательные задачи:

1.        Закрепить знания учащихся по изученным темам

2.        Расширить общий кругозор.

Развивающие задачи:

1. Формировать умение работать в коллективе и принимать совместное решение;

2. Развивать положительные личностные качества (ответственность, доброжелательность, чувство взаимопомощи).

3. Развивать и тренировать внимание, память, мышление.

Воспитательные задачи:

1. Воспитывать уважение к культуре своей страны и стран изучаемого языка.

Форма проведения мероприятия: викторина.

Место проведения мероприятия: кабинет на базе МБОУ СОШ №16 г.Ногинск.

Оборудование: проектор, компьютер, раздаточный материал, жетоны.

Содержание внеклассного мероприятия:

1. Организационный момент

Приветствие участников и гостей мероприятия. Роль ведущего исполняет учитель.

T: Good morning, my dear students! I’m very glad to see you here. Today we shall have a competition called “Great Britain”. We’ll remember the places of interest of London, play different games with English letters and words. Two teams will take part in our game and you’ll see who is the most quick-witted and the cleverest. It’s time to introduce yourselves. Who is the captain of the 1st team?

P: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Friendship”. Our motto is “One for all and all for one!”

T: Who is the captain of the 2nd team?

P: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Merry kids”. Our motto is “Don’t worry, be happy!”.

T: I think today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. A competent jury will count your points. The members of our jury are …

2. Объяснение правил игры

T: The game has 8 contests, they are:

1. The right order.
2. Descriptions.
3. Questions.
4. Making sentences.
5. Beautiful London.

T: Well, I wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful!

3. Ход мероприятия

1 тур. The right order.

T: The 1st contest of the quiz is called “The right order”. Students, you’ll make up the questions using the parts of the words. And of course you should answer them. Each team can get 6 points.

2 тур. Descriptions.

T: I want you to listen to my explanations. I will describe different places of interest that are situated in London. The variants of these places are on the presentation. Each team can get 3 points.

(1-Westminster Abbey; 2-Buckingham Palace; 3-Hyde Park; 4-the Houses of Parliament; 5- St.Paul’s Cathedral; 6- the White Tower).

1. There are many old and new beautiful parks in London. This park is the largest one. It is one of the most popular places of Londoners during the hot summer days. The park is famous for its Speaker’s Corner. (Hyde Park.)

2. It is a wonderful building. The Queen Victoria Memorial is situated in front to Trafalgar Square, which is the centre of London. The Queen of Great Britain lives there. (Buckingham Palace.)

3. It was a fortress, a palace, a prison and the King’s Zoo. Now it is a museum. You can see a lot of interesting things in the halls of this building. William the Conqueror built in it the eleventh century. Twelve black ravens live there. (the White Tower.)

4. It is one of the greatest English churches. It is not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17 th century after the Great Fire. It is a fine building with many columns and towers. In one of the towers there is one of the largest bells in the word. (St. Paul’s Cathedral.)

5. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there, many English kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poet’s Corner. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. (Westminster Abbey).

6. It is a long grey building with towers. The large clock in one of the towers is known as «Big Ben». You can hear the sound of «Big Ben» every hour in London. The clock and the bell got their names after Sir Benjamin Hall. The members of the British Parliament work in this building. (the Houses of Parliament.)

5. What is the political centre of London? (The political centre of London is Westminster.)

6. What are the main political parties in Great Britain? (The main political parties in Great Britain the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party.)

7. Who is the Head of State in Great Britain? (The Queen Elizabeth.)

8. Name the place where the Parliament works. (The House of Parliament are the place where the Parliament works.

4 тур. Making Sentences.

T: Try to make up as many sentences with this name of place of interest as possible.

T: There are some words on the presentation. You will have 5 minutes and your task will be to make up as many sentences as you can on the topic «London».
