Can people do without you?

Our world is changing and we can see that charity becomes more popular day by day. Charity means giving of help to those who are in need, providing them with money, food, clothes, healthcare and other necessary things.  It is not difficult to help needy people and everybody can make a contribution.

There are lots of charity organizations in the world today. They help people who have no opportunity to solve their problems themselves. In general such groups do charity by fundraising. They organize such events as: sales, festivals, marathons where people can take part and make donations. Every contribution even the little one is important.

But charity is not only about money. Every person can make a contribution by volunteering. For example, our class has some charity projects. Last year our form teacher wants us to help homeless cats and dogs. We were happy to do this. But we are children and we have no money. Then our teacher said that we can help by providing these animals with housing, she offered us to build new houses for them. And we did it! We liked being volunteers and being involved in charity.

This year we also have a charity project. We decided to support children in need and old lonely people. We collect soft toys, books and cloths for children, we visit them at their homes and play with them. For old people we do some house work: help in the garden, wash the windows, do some shopping and so on. We think we do an important job!

And we have a project for next year! Our class wants to clean our city park. It’s a big work and I’m afraid we are not able to do it ourselves. We need more people! That’s why we invite everyone to join us and make our town more pleasant for life!

To conclude, I’m sure that true charity starts with a kind word given by you to someone on a bad day, with sincere smile and with love.
