I. Подготовка учащихся к учебной деятельности на иностранном языке:

Приветствие:
Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you (
Good morning, dear teacher! We are glad to see you too)

Sit down, please. How are you today? (We are fine, thank you. And how are you?)

I’m fine, too. Thank you.

Сообщение целей урока:

Today we will learn some new words and get to know why Headteacher of a Local State school in London invited Russian students to London.

3) Фонетическая зарядка:
But first let’s remember some English words and practice to pronounce them.

I want you to read the words at the blackboard now. Let’s read them all together in a whisper. And now read them aloud in a chain one by one and translate.

to enjoy          shopping

to start           holidays

to gather        mushrooms
And now let’s match the words from the first column with the words from the second column in order to make words combinations. P.1, can you start and then continue in a chain.

II. Ознакомление учащихся с новым языковым материалом

Now let’s learn some new words. Look at the blackboard, please. Can you translate these words? Let’s listen and repeat the new words after me.

And now I want you to write down them in your vocabulary.

Open you book at page 25. Look at the words from the exercise 3. Let’s listen and repeat these words after the speaker.

Now, children, let’s do exercise on page 25. The task to you is to translate one word combination and to make up the sentence with it. Let’s do it in a chain. P.1, start, please.

For example: “Local school” – местная школа. She studies at the Local State school now.

Слова в учебнике:

Local - местный (school, football team, tennis competition)

Group – группа (of four, of students, task/work)

Social – социальный, общественный (life, classes, programme)

To stay – оставаться, останавливаться (at home/at school/after lessons, with your partner family, with your little brother, in the hotel)

To arrange – устраивать, договариваться (a picnic, to meet at 10 o’clock, chair un the classroom, a date and time).

Today, my dear children, we will continue our talk about the invitation to London. Today we will learn more about this invitation.  

3) Фонетическая зарядка:
Let’s start our lesson with phonetic warmer. It will be gymnastic for your tongue and lips. Look at me and repeat after me, please.

Упражнения:

- губы слегка растянуть, затем вернуть их в нейтральное положение;

- губы округлить, показывая зубы; губы при этом не должны выпячиваться; затем вернуть губы в нейтральное положение;

- кончик языка поместить между зубами и быстро убрать, вернув губы в нейтральное положение;

- кончик языка поместить между зубами и продуть воздух через щель.

1) Развитие навыков говорения

Now let’s remember what Headteacher of a Local State school in London wrote in his letter and repeat how to agree or disagree with somebody. Listen to me carefully. I will tell you some sentences and if I am right repeat my sentence, if I am not right disagree with me.

I will throw a ball to one of you and who will catch it must answer.

Sentences:

- Headteacher of a Local State school in London invited students from Russia to visit France;

- Headteacher of a Local State school in London proposed students from Russia to stay in a hotel;

- a Local State school in London will be responsible for the educational and social programme.

- a Local State school in London will not be responsible for costs and accommodation.

Very good. All of you remember what we were talking about last lesson.

Very good. Now I see you are not so tired and we can do exercise 6, page 26. At first let’s listen to this dialog.

Now let’s listen to it one more time and repeat after the speaker.

O.K. And now I will divide you into two groups in order to act out the dialog. The pupils from the first group will play the role of Anna Kovaleva, who is a secretary, and the other pupils will play role of Peter Golovin, who is a director. Then I ask you to change the role.

And now I want to listen to a couple of pairs. P.1 and P.2, read the dialog, please. P.3 and P.4, read the dialog, please.

Very well. So, today we will have a talk about tag-questions, we will learn how to use them in the speech, how to ask and answer them.

3) Речевая зарядка:

Before we will start learning our new grammar rule let’s remember general, special and alternative questions. We will play an interesting game. I will pronounce the sentence and throw the ball to one of you. Your task is to ask me different questions. For example, I’ll say: “I have an apple” and you will ask me: “Do you have an apple?”, “Do you have an apple or an orange?” and the other questions.

Let’s start.

Questions:

  • I have some news for you;
  • I am responsible for my pupils;
  • Our school has a good educational programme.
  • They will stay with us.
  • We got his invitation.

Very good. You are very active today. But be attentive when you make up questions. You make some mistakes.

Now let’s talk about tag-questions. Look at the blackboard, please. You can see a slide-show there. There are some questions. Let’s read them.

Предложения:

- I can drive the car, can I?

- She is a beautiful girl, isn’t she?

- You know my brother, don’t you?

- It was wonderful weather yesterday, wasn’t it?

- He plays football very good, doesn’t he?

Did you notice anything special in these questions? These questions are called tag-questions. The British people often use them. I want you to use them too, that is why let’s watch all presentation and try to make up the rule.

So, who wants to try to tell us how to make up tag-questions?

Very good, you all are right. And now let’s read this rule on pages 26-28

O.K. Is everything clear? Then, let’s practice asking tag-questions. We will do exercise 7 (a), page 27. Look through the questions and the answers. You must match the sentences from the first column with the tails from the second one. I will give you some minutes to do this exercise in writing. I will check the first two works and give marks.

You can see the tag-endings on the blackboard. Your task is to think up the sentences which are going with these endings. For example, you see the first ending “…, isn’t it?” and make up a sentence: “It is an interesting programme, isn’t it?” So, let’s start

And now P.1 and P.2, read this dialog too, please. Who else wants to read it?

O.K. Very good.

Do you understand the dialog? Can you translate the sentences with the word combination “to be going to do something”. What does this word combination mean?

Yes, you are close to the answer. Let’s translate this dialog.

And now let’s discuss the table “to be going to + infinitive”.

Today we will play different games and at the end of our lesson we will identify a winner. During our game we will repeat special and tag-questions, structure “to be going to” and some words from the previous lessons.

1) Совершенствование орфографических навыков:

Now we are ready to start playing. Let’s play our first game. We have learnt a lot of words on topic “We are going to travel”. But can you write them? Look at the blackboard and find the mistakes in the following words. Then write down the words in your exercise books. I will check the first three works and if you do in right I will give a coin to each pupil.

2) Развитие речевых навыков:

Now we will play another game. Your task is to make up the word combinations with the words which you see on the blackboard. I will give you 1.5 minutes. You have to make up as many word combinations as possible because I will give you one coin for each correct answer.

Words:

social, to be responsible for, educational, to arrange, group, invitation, to stay, local, programme, time, custom, tradition, humor.

3) Развитие произвольной памяти и внимания:
I see you like to play. The next play is called “The telephone”. Stand up, please. Come to the blackboard and stand in one line. The first pupil have to make up a sentence, using the word combination “to be going to” and tell it quietly to the next pupil. The next pupil has to pass this sentence to another and all of you have to do it in the same way. The last pupil has to tell this sentence aloud and go to the beginning of our line. Is it clear what you have to do. I will give an example.

P.1to P.2: I am going to have a party next week.

P.2 to p.3: He is going to have a party next week.

P. 3 – P.n – in the same way

The last pupil to the class: He is going to have a party next week.

4) Закрепление лексических навыков:

Now, another game for you. We will remember some verbs. I will ask one pupil to do everything I will tell him. So, P.1, I will give you some commands and you task is to do it.

- stand up, please

- go to the blackboard

- turn to the class

- raise your left hand and right leg

- put them down

- come to me

- take the ball

- throw it to P.2

- take the ball again

- give it to me

- show me how to swim, to jump, to sleep, to wash your face

- write a word “tradition” at the blackboard

- draw a rabbit

- go to your sit

- sit down, please.

5) Развитие навыков диалогической речи:

Now let’s play another game. You can see 12 cards with words or pictures on them numbered from 1 to 12. I will give you two bricks. You have played this game before. Do you remember the rules? O.K. The rules the same but this time you have to make up a tag-question and ask the next pupil. The next pupil has to answer the question, throw the bricks, make up his question and ask another pupil etc. For each right question and answer I will give you coins.

I will start the game:

I have 5. So, my picture is number 5. There are friends in my picture. My question: “You have a lot of friends, haven’t you?”

Now continue the game in a chain.

(Правила игры: ученик кидает кубики и берет ту картинку, которая соответствует сумме чисел на кубиках. Он должен составить вопрос в соответствии со своей картинкой и задать его следующему ученику. Тот, в свою очередь, должен ответить на вопрос, затем сам кинуть кубики. Игра продолжается по кругу до тех пор, пока круг не закончится.

6) Развитие грамматических навыков:

A. Now I want you to ask questions to the sentences. You can see this task on the cards. Read the sentences and begin your question with the word in brackets. The first three pupils who will do it right will get coins.

Task: Ask the questions to the following sentences:

  1. We are going to travel to Moscow (Where?)
  2. My sister often goes to the shop on Monday (Who?)
  3. My brother will read this book next month (When?)
  4. There are five pens on the desk (How many?)
  5. They didn’t visit their granny the day before yesterday (Why?)
  6. Kate can play chess well (What?)

 

IV.Заключительный этап
– O.K. That’s all for today. Now let’s find out who won. Please, count your coins and tell me the number. O.K. Today we have 4 winners! Congratulations. Well done! The rest were very good too! I think it was very interesting lesson. I liked it very much. And you?

I am glad you liked it. And now open your day-books and write down your homework:
Repeat Unit 2, p. 24-35 and be ready to a control work.
