Hello, my dear friend,
I want to tell you about my holidays (you remember, I was going to take my first holiday).
Last summer I visited St Petersburg. I went to Russia with my brother. We got there by plane. The trip was comfortable and not long. But we were unlucky with the weather. It was rainy and cool. Of course, we stayed at the hotel. It was not big but nice and tidy.
First we visited the oldest museum of St Petersburg – the Kunstkammer – it was very unusual and exciting! Then we saw the Hermitage and Issakievsky Cathedral. On evenings we usually walked along Nevsky Street (the Russians call it “prospect”).
Most of all I liked the bridges over the Neva. Some of them are rather ancient.
One day we spent in Peterhof. It was great! The fountains, the palaces, the gardens, the monuments – o!o!o! they are wonderful. The fountain “Samson” impressed ( впечатлил) me most of all. And the fountain “Shutikha” (Шутиха) made us get wet through! I took a lot of pictures.
Love, Cute.
- What sights have you noticed?
- Was Agent Cute’s trip interesting? Why?
6.Discussion
(обсуждение)
T: One girl from our school spent her holidays in Turkey. Now we’ll discuss her story.
( P1 reads the story to the pupils.)
- I was in Antalia. The place is beautiful. The weather was fine and we’ve got pretty suntan. We spent all days swimming in the sea, lying in the sun, enjoying exotic food some people learned windsurfing.
There are not many sights there, but there are a lot of souvenir’s’ shops. I’ve got a lot of present for my friends!
P 1. What do you think:
- Was her trip exciting? Why?
- Was it expensive?
- What do you prefer( предпочитаешь) – holiday in a big city or holiday at the seaside? Which is more interesting?
T: Well we’ll continue our discussion next lesson after watching the films.
T: Now , we’ll listen to some pupils about their holidays.
