  What  Features  of  English or American Education Would  You  Like to    

                  Introduce into the System of  Education in Russia ?                      

Класс :  10

Цель :  Формирование коммуникативной компетенции посредством    выполнения серии тренировочных упражнений.

Задачи:

Образовательная:

- совершенствование речевых навыков;

- расширение словарного запаса;

- сформировать навыки  УУД  при работе с текстовой и нетекстовой информацией;

- закрепление навыков ведения монолога.

Развивающая:

- расширение лексического запаса и лингвистического кругозора;

- развитие умения самостоятельного поиска информации из разных источников;

- умение выделять главное из потока информации;

- развитие способности к сравнительному анализу;

- развитие воображения;

- развитие навыков публичных выступлений;

- развитие умения выражать свои мысли;

- интереса к предмету.

Воспитательная:

- формирование научного мировоззрения;

- навыков общения при работе в группе;

-  формирование  дружественного,  толерантного отношения  к ценностям других культур.

Здоровьесберегающая:

- предупреждать  переутомляемость у учащихся  путем смены деятельности  и проведения физкультминутки.

УУД

Личностные:  формирование познавательных мотивов учащихся, развитие мысленного воспроизведения ситуации.

Регулятивные:  планирование алгоритма построения монолога, владение навыками самоанализа и самооценки.                    

Коммуникативные:  продуктивное взаимодействие  учащихся в решении поставленной задачи, подготовка небольшого устного высказывания, умение предоставить  убедительные  доказательства.

Познавательные: умение самостоятельно решать поставленную задачу, анализировать приобретённые на уроке знания, обсуждать проблемные вопросы, высказывать предположения, импровизировать.

Формы деятельности:

групповая,  индивидуальная, игровая , сотрудничества,  ИКТ.

Межпредметные связи: обществознание, информатика.

Средства обучения:

1.Компьютер  с  мультимедийным  проектором .

2.Презентации групп, созданные учащимися.

3. Плакаты с опорными сигналами, подготовленные учащимися.

Предварительная подготовка к уроку.

         За две недели до проведения урока учащиеся по желанию разделились на  три группы и выбрали тему для подготовки из предложенного учителем списка тем. Были выбраны лидеры групп, они организовали работу в своих группах: сбор информации и создание визуальных презентаций. С полученным материалом они заранее  за несколько дней до урока познакомили учителя для корректировки времени и очередности выступлений. Учитель ответила на все возникшие в процессе подготовки вопросы учащихся.

                                                Ход урока

l.  Мотивация урока

Учитель: The  year  2016 is  the year of education and  in the annual message of the President to the Federal Assembly was the emphasis on education.  That why the topic of our lesson is connected with the education. The aim of  education is to teach people to educate themselves. Schools have changed a lot in recent years. Standards have improved and there is a much wider choice of schools, colleges, vocational schools and universities to suit all tastes, income and inclinations.

Учитель: The topic of our lesson is “What futures of English or American Education Would  you  Like to Introduce into the System of  Education in Russia?” Russian  system of  Education is not perfect. Let`s try to make it better and add some good moments from English or American systems of education.

lll. Работа учащихся по группам. Презентация материала, подготовленного группами.

Группа №1 тема: «Motivation for education»

     The group presents the material they have prepared.  Сomparing  attitudes to education our group would like to say that Russian students are not so motivated as English or American students. As a rule their results at school are not taken into account when they enter the University. In England those who finish school send their resume and there results to the university and anxiously wait for the answer. They don`t have to attend any preparatory courses during the school year, which certainly makes Russian students burn the candle at both ends. So English students  do their best to show good results at school and get as many A-levels as possible. It is relevant to mention that the graduate from a celebrated university automatically gets a higher salary and better prospects than the graduate from the less prestigious university. That explains the fact why students abroad are highly motivated to excel at school.

Учитель: Can other groups add something or comment on the situation?

Ученик: (предполагаемый ответ)  This information is very important  for me  as it makes me  think about motivation. I  never thought before what for I`m learning at school.

Группа №2 тема: «The system of grading»

   The system of grading in Russia is not adequate.  Say a  «3» in English in a school with an intensive course of  English can`t be compared with a  «5»  from an ordinary school.  It`s   ridiculous  to give  a student a «1» or «2» if  he hasn`t done a single task and 5 points accordingly for 80  or 90 correct tasks. It might work in primary school but in high school the evaluation  of  the  students  progress must be reconsidered  as proper assessment is very stimulating. So grading scale that exists in GB and in the USA might be used.

Учитель: Do other groups agree?

Ученик: (предполагаемый ответ) I don`t agree, I like our grading and don`t want to change it at all.

Группа №3 тема: «To teach pupils high order thinking skills»

    The main aim of American education nowadays is not cram the child`s brain with useful information, but to teach him high order thinking skills through making decisions and choices. School must stir the curiosity and creativity of a child, but not grow up an obedient robot. Besides children must not only be introduced to science, statistics and computers but taught that communicating what they know and using it practically, are as important as knowledge itself. They must be made aware of grammar but bombarded with stodgy terms. A report must be a joyful discovery but not a boring obligation. There is hardly a schoolboy in Russia who thinks that school is fun and excitement and is honestly upset when the teacher is absent.

Учитель: What do you think about this information?

Ученик: (предполагаемый ответ) I agree that school must stir the curiosity and creativity of a child, it`s very important for the future life.

1.All children must be given equal opportunities in primary school. (For group №1)

(Предполагаемый ответ)  English  psychologists  say that all children must be  given equal opportunities in primary school and streamed according to the results of their progress.

 2 .Schools  have changed a lot.(For group №2)

    ( Предполагаемый ответ) Standards have improved and there is much wider choice of schools to suit all tastes, income and inclinations.

     3. School should develop students` physical and mental abilities. (For group №3) (Слайд №8)

  (Предполагаемый ответ ) School must stir the curiosity and creativity of a child, teach  him  highorder  thinking skills through making decisions and choices.

VII. We talked a lot about education. Now let`s play a game. Game « Ask a Minister of  Education  questions about the development of education in  Russia.» Группы работают над составлением вопросов, но министру образования будут отправлены только интересные и необычные вопросы, связанные с темой урока, по электронной почте. Участники групп обсуждают и записывают вопросы и отдают их учителю.

What other problems face our schools?

1. Financial problems. We hope that in future our schools will have hygienic swimming pools, well equipped labs, spacious gyms, and fantastic workshops of design, first-rate fast food in school cafeterias.
2. Connections between art, learning and curriculum. Art must be integrated into curriculum of all Russian schools. Art is a mighty mean of expression and art is more than being a good drawer; it`s essential to their learning and literacy.

Учитель:  In  conclusion I`d like to say that though our school system experiences a lot of problems it still manages to produce excellent standards of education. The present day students are literate, inventive, well read and intelligent. And we fell enormous gratitude to those enthusiastic  workaholics called Teachers.
