C3.Read the texts and make questions.

PRESENT SIMPLE Read the texts. Write 5 questions of different types to every text.

1.        My friend Julia and I study English. Our teacher is very smart. Her name is Olga Viktorovna. She gives us homework every day. Her son Igor is in our class. Her son is very good at English. We like English but it is difficult. Julia likes to read easy books in English. The teacher gives them to Julia. Sometimes we ask Igor questions in English. He helps us with our homework. Igor wants to be a translator.

2.        We have got two cats and a dog at home. My parents love them very much. My favourite is the dog. Its name is Right. It is white and brown. Right is very clever and funny. I take him for a walk in the evening. We walk every day. It runs and jumps with pleasure. But Right does not like our cats. He never plays with them. When the cats run to him, Right begins to bark. The cats are afraid of Right and run away.

3.        Hi, Mum! I am at the Zoo. The weather is sunny. It is very warm. I am eating a sandwich and drinking a cup of cola. My friend is taking photos. Our teacher is telling us about animals. She knows so many interesting stories about animals. Mum, one boy is giving a banana to the kangaroo. Oh, no! A monkey is taking one of my sandwiches! Mum, I’ll call back later!

4.        Sasha is a schoolboy. He is in the first form. One morning Sasha asks his mother to give him another pen before he goes to school. Mother does it. The next morning Sasha asks for a new pen again. So it goes on and on every day. Mother is surprised. “Sasha, you have 5 new pens! What is wrong with them? Why don’t you want to write with your pens?” mother asks. “Those pens make too many mistakes”, Sasha answers.

Spring

Springtime is a wonderful season. The warm sun shines and melts winter ice and snow. Nature begins to awake. All the trees and bushes are covered with small buds that get bigger and bigger and after some time turn into young green leaves. Then everything begin to blossom, flowers are everywhere. We can hear the birds singing and smell the sweet aroma of blooming trees.

The weather is fine almost all the time. It’s not hot, that’s why we go for a walk with great pleasure. Sometimes it rains in spring and the air gets filled with the odour of the wet ground. Thуn the first springtime storm comes with bright flashes of lightning and thunder. It makes the ground fertile so that in summer and autumn we can enjoy fruits and vegetables from our gardens.  

In spring we celebrate some interesting holidays. On the 8th of March it’s Women’s Day. On such a day we give flowers to all women we love – our moms, grannies, sisters, friends… They all are as smart and beautiful as the spring around. Their smiles are so bright and happy! Then we celebrate Easter, the Christian holiday of revival and love. On the 9th of May it’s the great day for our country. We celebrate the Victory Day. Many years ago the World War II was over. We honor the veterans and bring flowers to the monuments of those who gave their lives for our peaceful future
