1. Организационный момент. T.   Good morning, children! I am glad to see you. P1 P2P3…T. Take your seats and let’s begin our lesson.
2. Речевая разминка. T. Who can say what date is it today? P1

        T.  What is the weather like today? P2

        T.  What  temperature is it today ?P3

        T. Do you like the weather ? Why? P4

        T. Winter is coming. What holiday is in winter? P5

        T . Why do people like holidays?

        P6 …because they have a rest from the work.

T.The question is how can people rest from the work? What can they do?

        P1 They can watch TV.

        P2        …eat favourite  dishes.

                                  P3       …play sports.

                                   P4       …play computer games.

                                P5       …go to the cinema.

                                P6       …meet with friends.

                                P7       …travel somewhere in Russia and abroad.

T.What are the most favourite destination of Russian tourists?

P8 They are Turkey, Egypt, Spain ,Greese and India.

T. What do you think is more interesting: travel to warm countries or to English-speaking countries. P9

T.What English-speaking countries do you know?

P10 I know the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada.

T. What country would you like to visit? Would you like to visit the UK?

Millions of people visit the UK every year.

T. What is London? P1 London is the capital of England, the most famous European city. T. Do you know any places of interest in London? Ps We do. T. Let’s see what you know. Let’s go on excursion to London. Look at the screen, watch the pictures and say what you know about it?

T.What should we do planning the trip to London? We should think of things we will need to have holiday abroad. What you must/should/ought to/have to/need/take for the trip to London?

T. How can you get to London?

P1 …by plane and by  ship

T.What means of transport do you choose?

P2 Ship. Travelling by sea is an exciting journey.

P3 To my mind, travelling by air is the most thrilling.

P4 I agree with P3. It’s more comfortable and quicker.

T. It’s clear that we’ll get to London by plane.

IX.Ролевая игра  «In a Travel Agency».

T. Imagine you are in a travel agency to discuss the accommodation. One agent will tell you about stayng at a hotel, another –about staying with a host family.You will be given the cards with information about conditions of each place, the same information is on the board. Study it, compare and speak about your choice.

        Staying at the hotel.

The hotel is in zone 4 of the London transport system( it’s usually 10 minutes walk to the nearest underground station).

There are usually double room with a bathroom.

The hotel always has a restaurant.

The hotel serves English breakfast.

You will be welcome with warm and friendly staff.

Staying with a host family.

Location in zone 3 of the London transport system(you can easily go to the centre of London by local transport).

A comfortable room with  good  living conditions.

A balanced diet with 3 meals a day: breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.

A home  environment  where you are supported to speak English.

Your host family  expect you to leave at 8 a.m. and to be at home at 7 p.m. for dinner every day except Saturdays and Sundays.

Travel Agent1 I invite you to a comfortable hotel with good conditions. Do you agree  to stay at a hotel?

P1 I do because you feel yourself free and independent.

P2 You can go out and come back at any time you want.

P3 You can visit your friends in the evening.

TA1 Do you agree with them?

P4 I am afraid I can’t agree. The disadvantage is one meal a day. You’ll have to have lunch in a café, it may be expensive.TA1 Is that all? P4No, the other reason is less contact with the English.

P5  No one gives you advice if you need. Nobody helps you if you’ll feel bad.

P6  Only outside look at the English way of life.

Travel Agent 2 Staying with a host family has more advantages. They are the next:

A great chance to practice English. What’s your opinion?

P7 I am of the same opinion. The family can help you if you need. They can give an advice what to see in London.

P8  I don’t like the idea to leave a family at 8 a.m. and be in only at 7 p.m.

P9  By the way the family may be unfriendly.

P10 Meal may be not tasty.

Group 1  We’ll chose staying at a hotel.
