              AIM:

        Find historical events associated with 1996.

               PROBLEMS:

        - Who was president in 1996?

        - How many famous people were born on the 25 of November?

         - Do I think that my birthday is really happy?

              ACTUALITY:

        Everybody must know the history and events associated with the past. But, unfortunately, we do not interest about it.  Every human life is closely linked with the past.  

The events of today will become part of history tomorrow.

              PRACTICAL DIRECTION:

            I enjoyed working on this project. It was exciting and interesting for me and my classmates because I found a lot of useful information, a lot of fascinating websites and I have learned that the day I was born is a great day in the world history.

   INTROUTOIN

  I was born in autumn of 1996. The weather was bad. It was very cold, windy and snowy. But on the twenty - fifth of November, the day when I was born, the weather was wonderful. It was sunny. Nature was happy that I was born. It seems to me that I’m very serious and industrious. That was why I decided to explore the day of my birthday in history.  But… I      

was interested following questions:

- who was president in 1996;

- how many famous people were born on  the 25 of November;

- do I think that my birthday is really happy.

I search for these answers and other questions.

For this aim:

- I take questionnaires from my classmates who were born in 1996;

- Analysis answers are reflected in different diagrams;

- I have collected photos of famous people.

Contents, thesis, methods of the decision.

       1996 – a leap year. Every leap year starting on Monday. They say that leap  year is unfortunate. But in this year had  been the main historical events.  

   What had happened in 1996?

The main events of this year in history.

January 9 – the main event was Chechen War. Kizlyar was attacted by terrorists which was led  Salman Raduyev.

 April 20 -  the death of D. Dudayev.

 May  27- talks in the Kremlin (with Boris Yeltsin) between the delegation of Russia and representatives  Chechen separatists led by Z. Yandarbiev.

August 6 -- Chechen rebels begin to attack  city  Grozny.

August 31 - talks Lebed and Maskhadov in Khasavyurt completed the signing of the Khasavyurt agreements. Completion  the first Chechen war.

May 19 - robber Leslie Rogge was the first, whom the FBI arrested after publishing photos on the Internet.

June 16 - the first round of presidential elections in Russia. In the second round went GA Zyuganov and Boris Yeltsin. Also participated AI Lebedev, A. Yavlinsky, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, SN Fedorov, Mikhail Gorbachev and others.

July 3 - the victory of Boris Yeltsin in the second round. Yeltsin was elected for a second presidential term.

 Who was president in Russia in 1996?

32 % - gave correct answer; 35% - thought that presidents were Putin, Gorbachyov; 7% -did’t know.

 Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin (1 February 1931 – 23 April 2007) was the first President of the Russian Federation, serving from 1991 to 1999. He was reelected as President of Russia after the second round of elections in 1996.

July 19 -  opening ceremony of the anniversary Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA.

July 31 - Federal Court of New York overturned a legislative fact, limiting the freedom of speech on the Internet.

September - Michael Jackson in Moscow.

September 1 - start network NTV +

Septemder 3 - United States causing a missile attack on Iraq (Operation Impact in the desert).

 November - in Japan started selling the first DVD discs and players.

November - Presidential elections in the United States. In the second term re-elected Bill Clinton.

U.S. presidential election, 1996: Democratic incumbent Bill Clinton defeats Republican challenger Bob Dole to win his second term. William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III, August 19, 1946 was the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001.

December 1 - beginning  broadcasting channel STS.

 Do your know what actors and famous people were born on the day your was born?

        About 46% - named some famous people such as George Baryon, Nicola  Zverev, Julia Menshova, Jayson Scot  Li, Tatyana Bedova;  about 47%- didn’t interested,  45%-   interested, but didn’t name anybody.

As for me, I shared my birthday with actors and other famous people.

Abigail Kathleen Breslin (born November 25, 1996) is an American teen actress. The fourth youngest actress ever to be nominated for a competitive Academy Award, Breslin is best known for portraying Bo Hess in M. Night Shyamalan's Signs, Olive Hoover in the film Little Miss Sunshine, Nim Rusoe in Nim's Island, and the title character in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and The Ultimate Gift she also plays Zoe in No Reservations as well as for several supporting roles in other films. Her newest release is Zombieland.

Pavel Roumine was born November 25, 1974 in  city  Vladivostok.

From chipmaker (shooting, in particular, for Zemfira - video for the song "AIDS") grew up in the director's feature films.

Aleksandr Tyutin - Soviet Russia and film and theater actor, theater director.

Aleksandr Tyutin was born November 25, 1962 in  town  Podolsk (Moscow region).

Nonna Viktorovna Mordyukova (November 25, 1925 - July 6, 2008) was a Soviet actress and People's Artist of the USSR (1974). She was the star of films like director Denis Yevstigneyev's Mama and Nikita Mikhalkov's 1980s hit Rodnya.

Christina Applegate (born November 25, 1971) is an American actress. She is known for playing Kelly Bundy on the Fox Broadcasting Company sitcom Married... with Children. She has since established a film and television career, with major roles in several pictures, including Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead and another.

Timothy Lockwood Armstrong (born November 25, 1965[1]) is an American musician and songwriter best known for his work with punk rock bands Rancid.

Andrew Carnegie (properly pronoun, but commonly (25 November 1835 – 11 August 1919) was a Scottish industrialist and a major philanthropist.

Wilhelm Walter Friedrich Kempff (November 25, 1895 – May 23, 1991) was a world-renowned German pianist and composer. Although his repertory included Bach, Liszt, Chopin, Schumann, and Brahms.

Jacob Gavrilivich Uhsay (real name. Nikiforov, November 26, 1911 - Chuvash poet, writer, dramaturge.  Worked as editor in chief Tavan Atal."

 When I learned how many famous people  were born on the 25 of November, I was offended a bit. I think that everyone wants that his day belongs only to him or to her.

1 kilo of butter cost 20000 rubles

  Interesting fact: to buy, for example, a bag of chips for 3500 pp. needed  a whole handful  50-ruble coins (100-ruble relatively rare).

CONCLUSION

 I enjoyed working on this project.  It was exciting and interesting for me and my classmates because I have found a lot of useful information, a lot of fascinating websites and I have learned that the day I was born is a great day in the world history.
