Задачи:

Обучающие:

совершенствовать лексические навыки по теме “British newspapers and magazines”- совершенствовать умения монологической речи (рассказ о выборе газеты, аргументирование выбора),

отрабатывать лексические единицы по теме.

практиковать учащихся в чтении и умении извлекать определенную информацию при чтении;

Образовательные: 

ознакомить с газетами и журналами,

расширить кругозор.

Воспитательные: 

учить уважать точку зрения другого ученика.

Развивающие: 

развивать долговременную память, логическое мышление,

развивать коммуникативные навыки учащихся.

Основные понятия: Tabloid – таблоид, желтая пресса, Broadsheets – широкоформатное издание

Оборудование: - раздаточный материал (текст о 6 иностранцах, таблица), доска и мел.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент

Good afternoon, dear boys and girls!

2. Вводное слово учителя

Today we continue to talk about mass media. We know that Mass media includes:  television, radio, internet, books, newspapers and magazines. So newspapers and magazines are going to be the main topic of ours today's discussion.

3. Обучение устной речи. Активизация лексики по теме "Mass media"

- Look at the picture. What can you see?

-Make up a mind map? What are your associations with it?

Possible answers: newspapers, magazines, free, local, popular, serious, gossips, information, national, reading, pictures.

4. Обучение лексике.

- Look at the blackboard. We have got the new word on our topic. Repeat after me.

- Read and translate the new words and word combinations one by one.

- Create your own sentences using the new words.

Possible answers:

The articles reported that the conference was brilliant.

It' is reported that the situation is stable.

• What kinds of papers do you know?
• Try to remember what newspapers we know. Mind Russian, British and American papers. Let's fill in the chart all together. (Таблица заполняется на доске)

5. Обучение чтению.  Работа с текстом.

- So now you are going to read the text that is called "British newspapers and magazines". The situation looks like as follows. There are 6 foreigners Peter, Alex, Jane, Liz, Tom, Mary. These people came from other countries. They can’t buy their favourite magazines and newspapers. What can you recommend them if you know what types of papers and magazines they like? Read the texts and fill in the table!

- Fill in the table! It will help you to make right decisions!

-  Thank you very much for your opinions. And now get ready to listen to extracts from the articles and guess which article is taken from a tabloid and which one belongs to the broadsheets. Why do you think so?

8. Подведение итогов.  Домашнее задание.

So, I think, we know much about the papers in Russia and abroad now. Your marks for the lesson are…………….. . At home you are to write down an advert of any paper you like. Your advert must make people buy this newspaper.   Think about your arguments and try to add some pictures.
