                   Празднование Halloween.

Вид мероприятия: внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку, проводимое совместно с педагогом изобразительного искусства.

Возраст детей: 10 - 12  лет.

Время проведения: 2 часа.

Цель мероприятия: посредством синтеза двух предметов – иностранного языка и изобразительного искусства -  приобщить учащихся к традициям и обычаям англоязычных государств, познакомить детей с празднованием “Halloween”.

Задачи: 1. образовательная – расширение словарного запаса, введение и активизация новой лексики по теме, теоретическое и практическое знакомство с  традициями англоязычных стран, обучение детей с помощью простых средств ( бумага, тушь, ножницы ) оформлять праздник.

2.  воспитательная – воспитание интереса и уважения к культуре и обычаям других народов, формирование эмоционально-чувственного отношения к предметам.

3.  развивающая – развитие воображения, фантазии, эмоциональной отзывчивости, развитие умения выражать в художественных образах творческую задачу – художественный замысел.

Оборудование:

1. украшения кабинета – традиционные изображения праздника “Halloween” – ведьмы, скелеты, привидения, паутина, тыква
2. шары, свечи
3. аудиозапись, музыкальный центр
4. раздаточный материал -  бумага, тушь, ножницы
5. кроссворд и тесты на английском языке
6. лотерейные билеты, 2 из них с номерами 13 и 666

Костюмы: дети приходят в традиционных праздничных  костюмах  - привидения, скелеты, ведьмы,  черные коты, Фредди Крюгер, вампиры  и пр.

Ход праздника:

Под аудиозапись, изображающую завывание ветра,  дети входят в заранее украшенный кабинет. При входе каждому вручается лотерейный билет. В классной комнате темно, горят свечи.

1-я ведьма: ( в костюме ведьмы учитель английского языка ) Good afternoon, dear kids! We are here to learn more about Halloween - one of the most popular festivals. We’ll listen to our guests – witches and goblins, we’ll recite poems and play games, and we’ll decorate our classroom all together. To begin with  let’s read the poem “Halloween”: ( дети читают хором )    

Hooting howlng hissing witches

Riding rasping ragged switches;

Fluttering frightening fearsome bats;

Arching awesome awful cats;

Long lantern-lighted streets;

Tricks! Tasty tempting treats!

Before listening to the goblins let me present you some cards with some new words! ( учитель предъявляет карточки с новыми словами – “witch”, ”goblin”, “pumpkin” , “lantern’ , ‘bonfire’, ‘ghost’ , “ancient Celts” , “trick or treat”, “evil”, “soul”, “wicked”, “death”  )

1-ый гоблин: Halloween is the one of the best holidays for children. People celebrate Halloween in America, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and in many European countries on the 31st of October.

2-ой гоблин: The ancient Celts believed that at midnight on October 31st, the last day of the year, the god of death ordered back to his realm the souls of all the evil people who had died and was condemned to live in bodies of wild animals during the preceding 12 months.

3-ий гоблин: Knowing that these wicked beings feared any kind of light and remained in the dark at all times, the Celts gathered together in large groups around huge bonfires that they kept burning until daylight. In order to pass the time pleasantly, they told stories, played  games, they ate enormous amounts of food and returned home at daybreak, assured that they were safe from these wicked creatures for another year!

4-sй гоблин: Today of course Halloween is only  a candy-collecting orgy by youngsters in bright costumes who travel from house to house crying out “Trick or treat!” They carry huge bags with them into which they place the sweets given them by householders who prefer to give “a treat” rather than a risk for the consequences of a “trick”!

1-ый гоблин: One of the most well-known Halloween traditions is that of hollowing out pumpkins, cutting faces in the shells, and placing lighted candles on the inside to give them the appearance of the disembodied heads of evil spirits when seen from a distance!

2-ой гоблин: The Halloween fires are lit at dusk when celebrating Halloween – for luck, for the saining of the fields, for protection against the witches, and certainly for the sake of fun and merriment!

3-ий гоблин: So Halloween is a time for fun and pleasure. Kids and adults wear masks and colorful costumes. The most popular costumes are – ghosts, witches and skeletons. People also decorate houses and schools in the traditional Halloween colors – orange and black. Everybody wants to look scary on Halloween.

1-я ведьма: Now let me introduce my sister! She has just arrived to our party!

( учитель иностранного языка представляет учителя изобразительного искусства в костюме ведьмы )

2-я ведьма: Под руководством «ведьмы» дети приступают к заданию 1 - из заготовок желтого и красного цвета вырезают изображение тыквы и изготавливают подсвечники.  В классе  гасится свет и зажигают свечи в новых подсвечниках.

Задание 2 – каждому участнику раздается лист бумаги с изображением пятна. Ребятам предлагается дорисовать пятно, исходя из того, что увидел каждый ребенок. Кто-то видит крокодила, кто-то  - паука, кто-то - привидение. После выполнения задания изображения вырезаются и помещаются на паутину, заранее приготовленную и вывешенную на доске.  

2-я ведьма проводит также шуточную лотерею. Разумеется, выигрышные номера – 13 и 666! Победители награждаются.

1-я ведьма. Thanks  a lot, dear. Now we’ll play one of the most popular Halloween games – Duckling for apples!  ( дети пытаются выловить яблоки, плавающие в мисках с водой, руки завязаны за спиной )

Another game is a Fotrune tree! ( ребята подходят к заранее подготовленному дереву с листочками – предсказаниями, выбирают по одному и зачитывают предсказания вслух : You’ll be a champion! You’ll travel to the Moon! You’ll be the President! и пр. )

1-я ведьма.  Now I invite you to present the poems you have prepared.

1. Scary things ( a poem)

Under the bed after saying good-night,

Getting stuck in  a sweater that’s much too tight,

Getting lost at the fair or the shops or the zoo,

Feeling something with lots of legs crawling on you!

2. Ghost ( a poem )

I saw a ghost that stared and stared

And I stood still and acted scared!

But that was just a big pretend.

I knew that ghost…it was my friend!

3. Under the stairs ( a poem )

I don’t like the cupboard under the stairs,

It reminds me of caves and dragons’ lairs.

So I never look in once it is night,

In case I should get a nasty fright!

I’m silly I know, ‘cos it’s only small,

There wouldn’t be room for a dragon, at all!

But even in daytime it gives me the scares

To go past the cupboard under the stairs!

4. Something is there ( a poem )

Something is there, there on the stair

Coming down, coming down stepping with care.

Coming down, coming down slinkety-sly!

Something is coming and wants to get by!

5. I’m Skeleton! ( a poem )

I’m the local Skeleton who walks this street!

This is my beat. Beware!

I’m not very hairy, but I scare

Everyone I meet!

People quiver when they see me.

They flee me!

They shiver if they must walk alone.

Oops, there’s a dog, I must run!

His tail has a wag. He wants to play tag.

And now he would like a b o n e !

6. Spider on the floor ( a poem )

 There’s a spider on the floor – 4 times

Who could ask for more

Than a spider on the floor?

There’s a spider on the floor – 4 times

Now the spider’s on my leg

He’s really, really big

This old spider on my leg

Oh there’s a spider on my leg!

Now the spider’s on my stomach!

Oh he’s just a big old lummock

This old spider on my stomach

There’s a spider on my stomach!

Now the spider’s on my neck!

Oh I’m gonna be a wreck

There’s a spider on my neck!

There’s a spider on my neck.

Now the spider’s on my face.

Oh what a big disgrace!

There’s a spider on my face!

Now the spider’s on my head!

Oh I wish I were dead.

There’s a spider on my head.

But he jumps off

7. Curses! Curses! ( 3 witches )

Ragwort, tansy, parsley, pea!

You’d better stay away from me!

Purple pumpkins, crabgrass green!

You’re the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen!

Bumble, crumble, mumblety peg!

Let a worm crawl up your leg!

Brooklyn needle, jersey pin!

Let a snail sit on your chin!

Oh pickle water! Penguin toes!

Let your nose grow like a gardenia grows!

Sis times six, and two times two!

Let your hair turn blue! - 2 times

Let it stick like glue!

And if you think that’s bad,

If you think that’s bad,

Here’s something worse:

You’ll never get free of my witch’s curse!

So there!

1-я ведьма. Our party is coming to the end. Now I want all of you to do the Halloween crossword and the final test. ( результаты кроссворда и теста обсуждаются вслух . Обладатели самых оригинальных костюмов также награждаются )
