Тема: «Environment and its protection» к УМК Афанасьевой О.В. «Spotlight 10»

Тип урока: Изучение нового материала

Цель урока: Изучить новый лексический материал по теме «Защита окружающей среды», развивать коммуникативную, языковую компетенцию.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

Познакомить с новыми лексическими единицами. Активизировать познавательную активность обучающихся, расширить знания учащихся об экологических проблемах.

Развивающие:

Развивать навыки аудирования и чтения, формировать умение анализировать и обобщать учебный материал.

Воспитательные:

Воспитание культуры общения, формирование ценностных ориентаций, уважительного и бережного отношения к природе, содействовать формированию у учащихся экологического мышления.

Оснащение урока:  УМК «Английский в фокусе» 10 (Spotlight 10) О.В. Афанасьева, В.Эванс, Дж. Дули, презентация, видеоклип, видеоролик, экран, наглядный материал.

Формы работы: Фронтальный опрос, индивидуальная работа, групповая работа.

Технологии: Дифференцированный подход к учащимся, интенсификация обучения на основе схем, компьютерные технологии, технология проблемного обучения, здоровьесберегающий компонент.

План урока

1.Организационный момент - Приветствие -Диалог с дежурным. 

2. Этап целеполагания и мотивации.

3. Этап коррекции знаний - Фонетическая зарядка -Речевая зарядка. 

4.Основной этап урока – Изложение нового материала  

5. Закрепление и применение нового материала.

6. Заключительный этап урока -Рефлексия - Домашнее задание

Этапы  урока

1. Организационный момент.

  (проверка готовности учащихся к уроку).

Задача: Создать условия для возникновения у ученика внутренней потребности включения в процесс.

Т: 1) Good morning, my friends! I’m very glad to see you. How are you today? I’ m OK, too. Thank you. Sit down, please. Good luck to you! Today we have an unusual lesson .And everything what is unusual is interesting. So I hope that our lesson will be interesting for you and for me!

2) Who is on duty today? What’s the date today? What day of the week is it today? Who is absent today? What’s the weather like today? What season is it now?

2. Этап целеполагания и мотивации. Задача: мотивировать учащихся на определение цели и темы урока. Учитель cоздает для учеников проблемную ситуацию.  Предлагает посмотреть видеоклип Майкла Джексона “Earth Song”.

Т: And now I want you to watch some video… How do you think…what is the theme of our lesson? So, the theme of our lesson is “Environment and its protection”. And there are three very important questions which are under our consideration. What are they? That’s correct!

(Просмотр видеоклипа и определение темы урока). Учащимся предлагается точный перевод этой песни (см. приложение)

Т: Well, we live in the world where there are a lot of ecological problems. Nowadays the global situation in ecology is very serious. Many people all over the world are worried about it and discuss it in Russian, English, French and other languages. We are here to discuss several questions connected with pollution and other environmental problems and how to solve some problems.

3. Этап коррекции.

1) Фонетическая зарядка.

Задача: тренировать учащихся в произношении активной лексики урока.

Т:  And now in order to talk about ecological problems we should practice our vocabulary. Now repeat the words after me. (знакомство с новыми словами модуль 4а). Учащиеся повторяют за учителем.

2) Речевая зарядка.

Задача: Организовать речевую тренировку, речемыслительной деятельности, естественной обстановки общения.

Teacher: What does the word «environment» mean?

4. Основная часть урока. Изложение нового материала 

1). Аудирование.

Т: I want you to watch some video…Look at the screen… 

(просмотр видеоролика «Экологические проблемы»).

T: The range of environmental problems is rather wide nowadays. What ecological problems can you name? (учащиеся называют услышанные и увиденные экологические проблемы).

Т: You are right. The most important of them are: the growth of pollution in it’s many forms (air pollution, water pollution, land pollution); shortage of natural resources; destruction of wildlife; the growth of population; traffic noise; acid rains; the greenhouse effect; depletion of the ozone layer radiation; deforestation and desertification; health and chemical safety; global warming. Surely not! But the problem of deforestation is alarming. Every year over 100,000sq.km of forests is so badly damaged that it is very hard for it to recover. Deforestation can cause vanishing of all species on earth in the next 25 years.

5. Закрепление новых знаний.

1). Первичная проверка понимания темы.

Teacher: What do you associate with the word «ecological problems»? Make up the scheme.  (Учащиеся заполняют ассоциаграмму у доски по-очереди).

2) Работа с текстом.

Задача: Практиковать чтение с целью отработки новых лексических единиц и с целью выявления необходимой информации.

Т: Our planet is so beautiful. Can we allow dying such beauty? What can we do to protect the Earth?

Т:  Now let’s read the text « Use Less Stuff». Page 65 in your Student’s books.

(учащиеся читают текст и выполняют задания к нему).

Teacher: What should we do to protect the environment? Use the ideas to make sentences.                          

For example: We should reduce the amount of water we use.

6. Заключительный этап урока.

1) Т: My dear friends, you’ve worked very well today. I’m sure you’ll be more attentive to nature because it gives us its riches to live and enjoy.

Environment

Hello, everyone! Today I’d like to talk to you about our environment. We live on Earth, the only planet where humans can live. The planet gives us all we need.

First, it is air. We need to breathe and can’t live without air even for a few minutes. Second, it is water. Up to 60% of the human body is water. Our nature (rivers, lakes, and groundwater) helps us support our well-being. Third, it is soil. We build our houses on and grow plants in it. Fourth, there are trees, flowers, fruit, vegetables, forests, and oceans with lots of animals, birds, and fish. Just imagine the earth without all of them! And last, we can’t survive if there is no atmosphere.

Humans have been using these resources for thousands of years. And it might seem that for this long period of time people have learnt to live in harmony with nature. But unfortunately, it isn’t true. Nowadays there are a lot of problems with our environment and the only reason for it is human activity.

The first problem is air pollution. The number of cars on the roads is growing day by day. There are a lot of manufacturing plants and factories almost in each town. They pollute the air with their harmful substances. It affects people’s health because we breathein these chemicals. Also, it can be the cause of holes in the ozone layer in the atmosphere, increasing ultraviolet radiation and global warming.

Secondly, many people and factories often pollute water using it as a dump. Many rivers and lakes with fresh water are poisoned. Fish and reptiles can’t live in them. We can’t drink this water.

Thirdly, agriculture uses a lot of synthetic fertilizers (special chemical substances) to grow more vegetables and fruit. I doubt that we can call them ‘healthy food’. Also, it harms soil and groundwater.

Deforestation is another problem. Some kinds of industry use trees as material for their goods. Maybe you don’t know about it but often forests are cut down for pastures for cattle. It means that wild animals suffer. People suffer too because forests filter our air.

In the end, people often pollute the environment by throwing out the trash anywhere, waste water and electricity, use cars just to go to the nearest shop, or even kill wild animals.

Fortunately, it is not too late to solve these problems. We have time and technology to make our planet a safer place. We can plant trees and create areas for endangered species. We can recycle litter and stop throwing candy wrappers on the grass. If everyone understands that the place where he lives depends on him, our environment will be much better and healthier.
