Тема: Кино и саундтреки к фильму.

Цели:

- обучающая: закрепить лексику по теме «Кино и саундтреки к фильму»; отрабатывать навыки монологической и диалогической речи; поискового чтения, высказывать своё мнение на английском языке, проводить опросы, делать выводы, заключения, закрепить навыки аудирования

- развивающая: развивать память, мышление, внимание, логику детей, умение выразить своё мнение,

- воспитывающая: пробудить интерес детей к англоязычной культуре, воспитывать толерантность к иноязычной культуре.

Ход урока

- Good morning, children. We continue discussing the topic “Films”. – Listen music and look at the pictures… and say… what the sound to film?

- Today we are going to talk about cinema, about your favourite films ..

- Do you go to the cinema?Why?

-How often do you go to the cinema? 

-Do you like Russian or British/American films? Why?

-Do you watch videos at home?  Why?

In Text 1 the first paragraph lacks some words and in Text 2 the second paragraph misses some words. Let us read it and restore the whole text.

Cinema plays a very important role in our life. It is the best way of spending free time and it is very popular with people of all ages. A lot of people are fond of going to the cinema. No matter where you live there is most likely to be a cinema there.

There are many genres of feature films, for example, the thriller, the musical, the drama, the love story and the fantasy. But the most popular is, of course, the comedy. People need something to laugh at, they like its funny characters and happy ends.  The performance usually lasts from two to three hours and most cinemas have four performances a day.

• Many years ago when the cinema was black-and-white there was no sound. Actors and actresses used their gestures to show their feelings and emotions. So, pantomiming is the ability to use gestures only, without any words.
• Please, show me the following film genres with the help of pantomiming: a comedy, a horror film, a cartoon, a musical, a detective, a western.

- Now I invite you to the cinema. We are going to watch an episode from the film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” in English. But first, let’s remember the main characters. They are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Hagrid, Professor Dumbledore and others.

- First, let us see some words and phrases from the film. Here they are:

Blimey [blaimi]

I’m gonna – I am going to … 

Mistake [misteik] - ошибка

Think you are being funny, do you? – Думаешь, это смешно?

Muggles [m glz] – non magic people

You call yourself our mother – И ты называешь себя нашей мамой!

Here is the script of this episode. Look at it. Let us read and translate. – 3-4

Hagrid: What are you looking at? Blimey, is that the time? Sorry, Harry, I’m gonna have to leave you. Dumbledore will be wanting his… well, he will be wanting to see me. Now, your train leaves in 10 minutes. Here is your ticket. Stick to your ticket, Harry, that’s very important. Stick to your ticket.

Harry: Platform 9 ¾. (nine and three quarters). But, Hagrid, there must be a mistake.  It says ‘Platform 9 ¾’. There is no such thing, is there?

Excuse me, sir, can you tell me where I might find platform 9 ¾?

Officer: 9 ¾. Think you are being funny, do you?

Mrs. Weasley: It’s the same every year, packed with muggles, of course.

Harry: Muggles?

Mrs. Weasley: Platform 9 ¾ this way. All right, Percy, you first.  Fred, you next.

George: He is not Fred. I am. Honestly, why you call yourself our mother.

Mrs. Weasley: Oh, I’m sorry, George.

Fred: I’m only joking, I am Fred.

Harry: Excuse me, could you tell me how to…

Mrs Weasley: How to get onto the platform. Not to worry, dear. It’s Ron’s first time to Hogwarts as well. All you’ve got to do is walk straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10. Best to run if you are nervous.    

Ginnie: Good luck.
