T: Good morning boys and girls, teachers and guests! Welcome to the festival of fairytales. Today we are having it among the 4th forms pupils.
Our festival has two performances: “Jack and his friends”, “Jack and the beanstalk”.
Now I give the word to our participants. Let them introduce themselves. (участники представляются)
Jack and his friends
Ведущий: Once upon a time there was a boy whose name was Jack. One day Jack set out to seek his fortune. He hadn`t gone very far when he met a cat. – Good morning, Jack, -- said the cat. – Where are you going? -- I am going to seek my fortune, -- said Jack. – Yes, if you like. So Jack and the cat went on. They hadn`t gone very far when they met a dog.
Dog: Oh, Good morning, Jack, Where are you going? Jack : I am going to seek my fortune. Dog : May I go too? Jack : Yes, certainly. Ведущий: So Jack and the cat and the dog went on. They hadn`t gone very much farther when they met a cow.
Cow: Where are you going? Jack : I am going to seek my fortune. Cow: May I go with you? Jack : Yes, certainly you may. Goat : Good morning, Jack, Where are you going? Jack : I am going to seek my fortune. Goat : May I go too? Jack : Yes, if you like. So Jack and the cat and the dog and the cow and the goat went on. They hadn`t gone very much farther when they met a cock. Cock : Good morning, Jack, Where are you going? Jack : I am going to seek my fortune. Cock: May I go with you? Jack : Yes, certainly you may. So Jack and the cat and the dog and the cow and the goat and the cock went on. They hadn`t gone very much farther when they met a house. Cock : Good morning, Jack, Where are you going? Jack : Don`t make a noise while I peep through the window. Robbers! Now when I say “ Go” make as much noise as you can, and we`ll frighten them away.
Jack : Go! Animals: Meow! Woof! Moooo! Me-e-e! Cock-a-doodle-doo!
Then Jack and his friends went inside the house to have a good sleep. The cat lay down on the rocking-chair, and the dog lay under the table, and the goat lay down at the top of the stairs, and the cow went into the cellar where it was nice and cool, and the cock settled down on the roof, and Jack blew out the lamp and went to bed.
Robbers decided to return to their house. ( Грабители залезли в дом, но получили отпор).
Robber 1: It`s a dreadful place! I tried to sit down in the rocking-chair, but an old woman stuck her knitting-needles into me. Robber 2: And I went to the table and looked under it, and there was an old man under the table, and he stuck his pincers into me. Robber 3: And I went up the stairs and an old woman with sweeping-brush knocked me right down again. Robber 4: Then I ran down to the cellar, but there was a man there chopping wood, and he hit me on the head with his axe. I`ll never go there again! Robbers: Let`s run away!
Ведущий: So the robbers never went there again. And Jack and his friends stayed in the house as long as they liked.
Jack and the beanstalk.
Storyteller: Once upon a time there was a little boy. His name was Jack and he lived with his mother in a small house in the forest. They were very poor. One day his mother said:
Mother: We've got no money Jack. Take the old black cow to market and sell it. Buy some food with the money and be careful.
Storyteller: Jack went to the market. (звучит музыка) There were many people who sold different goods. One man asked Jack:
Salesman 1: Would you like some cottage cheese or sour cream? My products are very good for health. If you eat them you will be very strong.
Jack: I must think...
Storyteller: Suddenly another man stopped in front of Jack. The man said:
Торговец 2: Your cow is old and ugly. Take my five beans and give me your cow!
Jack: Five beans for my cow? Oh, no! My mother will be angry. We've got no money and no food. I can't give you my cow for five beans.
Salesman 2: But they are magic beans!
Storyteller: Jack gave the cow to the man. The man took the cow. Jack had magic beans but he had no money and no cow. His mother was very angry.
Mother: Five beans for a cow!
Jack: But mother, they are magic beans!
Mother: Silly boy!
Storyteller: Jack's mother threw the beans outside. The next day Jack opened his eyes and looked outside.
Jack: What a surprise! (звучит музыка)
Storyteller: In the garden he saw a big green beanstalk. It went up and up and up.
Jack: Oh! The magic beans!
Storyteller: He started to climb the beanstalk and climbed quickly up and up and up to the sun and the clouds. He was not afraid. At last he came to the top and stopped.
Jack: What a beautiful castle!
Storyteller: The sun was shining and it was hot. Jack was tired and thirsty. Jack went to the castle. A woman opened the door but she was afraid.
Giant's wife: Be careful! My husband's a horrible giant and he likes to eat children.
Storyteller: Suddenly the horrible giant came home.
Giant: Fee, Fi, Fo, Foy! I can smell a little boy! Where is he? I want to eat him for my dinner!
Giant's wife: Quickly Jack! Jump into the bread oven. The giant will never find you there!
Storyteller: Jack hid in the bread oven. He was not afraid.
Giant's wife: There is nobody here. Sit down and be quiet and eat your dinner. Look! A big plate of potatoes, peas, carrots and chickens.
Storyteller: The giant ate all the food on the plate. Soon he was tired and went to sleep.
Giant: Z-z-z-z-z-z.
Storyteller: Jack climbed out of the oven and saw a bag of gold. He took the bag and climbed quickly down the beanstalk. He told his mother where he got the gold.
Mother: Be careful! Don't go up the beanstalk again!
Storyteller: But the next day Jack climbed the beanstalk again. Up, up, up to the clouds and the sun and the castle. He was not afraid. He wanted more gold! The woman gave Jack some bread and milk. He was very hungry.
Giant's wife: Be careful! The giant is very angry because he can't find his bag of gold.
Storyteller: Suddenly the giant came home.
Giant: Fee, Fi, Fo, Foy! I can smell a little boy! Where is he?
Storyteller: Jack jumped into the bread oven again. He listened to the giant.
Giant's wife: There is nobody here. Sit down and be quiet and eat your dinner.
Storyteller: The giant ate all the food on the plate and soon he went to sleep.
Giant: Z-z-z-z-z-z.
Storyteller: The giant had a magic hen.
Jack: Cluck, cluck, cluck … A golden egg!
Storyteller: Quickly Jack climbed on the table and took the hen. He carried it home to his mother. The next day Jack climbed the beanstalk again. The giant was angry.
Giant: Fee, Fi, Fo, Foy! I can smell a little boy! Where is he? Where is he?
Storyteller: Jack was in bread oven again. He was not afraid. The giant was tired and hungry. He ate all the food on his plate and soon he went to sleep.
Giant: Z-z-z-z-z-z.
Storyteller: This time Jack took the giant's golden harp. But the giant heard him and woke up.
Giant: Stop, come back!
Storyteller: Jack was not afraid. He ran very quickly. The giant was very tired and very old and ran very slowly.
Giant: Come back, come back!
Storyteller: But Jack ran to the beanstalk and climbed down quickly.
Jack: Quickly mother, it's the giant, he's coming! The horrible giant is coming. Cut down the beanstalk. Oh, quickly, quickly!
Storyteller: Jack's mother was very afraid but she was also very strong.
She took the axe and ran to the beanstalk.
Mother: Oh dear, oh dear!
Storyteller: Jack and his mother quickly cut down the big beanstalk with the axe.
Mother: Chop, chop, chop, chop. Down, down fell the giant. CRASH!
Storyteller: That was the end of him! Jack and his mother were very happy. They had the bag of gold, the magic hen and the golden harp. So they were rich and lived happily ever after.
В зале звучат аплодисменты.
Storytellers: So, you watched two performances. Do you like they?
