“Do you know English well?”

«Хорошо ли вы знаете английский язык?»

Цели:

1. Обобщить и систематизировать знания учащихся в области английского языка.

2. Развивать мыслительную деятельность учащихся.

3. Способствовать повышению познавательного интереса к изучению английского языка через игровую ситуацию.

Оборудование:

- презентация, наглядный материал, раздаточный материал.

Ход занятия:

- Hello, dear friends! I’m very glad to see you again. I hope you’re fine. Today we have an interesting lesson, because we’re going to travel to English Land by train. You are passengers of this train. It is very big and comfortable.

So, during our trip we will visit 7 big and interesting stations. Every station has its own task. After doing the task you will get a prompt (подсказка). And at the end of our travelling you will name the country. Are you ready? Our train is waiting for us. It’s time to go. (звучит сигнал паровоза, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о первой остановке).

- Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 1.

The first station is “Phonetics”.

The task: read and write down the words using the letters.

[spu:n], [nain], [hi:], [sta:], [pleit]

Key: spoon, nine, he, star, plate.

A prompt: 1. It is a part of the United Kingdom.

So, we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о второй остановке).

        - Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 2. It is “Lexicology”.

The task: Continue the lines of words.

1. Tiger, ……..

2. Grandma, ……..

3. Italy, ………..

4. Green, ……….

5. History, ………

A prompt: 2. The official flag of the country consists of a white cross on a blue background and is known as St. Andrew’s Cross. 

• Now, children, we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о третьей остановке).

- Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 3. It is “Grammar”.

The task: Find and correct the mistakes.

1.     Ann and Mike is pupils. (Ann and Mike are pupils.)

2.     My sister work in a shop. (My sister works in a shop.)

3.     I’ve got five book. (I’ve got five books.)

4.     They has got two pens. (They have got two pens.)

5.     Horses can swim? (Can horses swim?)

A prompt: 3. The highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis, is situated there.

• Thank you for your work. Now we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о четвертой остановке).

- Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 4. It is “Poetical”.

The task: Make up the poem.

        -You’ve got some minutes to do this task. Have you done the task? Let’s check. Thank you very much.

A prompt: 4. Its capital and cultural center is Edinburgh.

Now we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о пятой остановке).

- Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 5. It is “Mathematical”.

The task: Let’s play “Ring a number”. I will name a number and you will ring the correct number. (5, 11, 27, 49, 164). Let’s check your work. Good.

A prompt: 5. It is also famous for its kilt. 

Now we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о шестой остановке).

Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 6. It is “Riddles”.

The task: Guess the riddles.

1.You find it in the bathroom.

You brush your teeth with it. (TOOTHPASTE)

2. I’m very, very big.

I like to eat peanuts and hay.

I have four legs and two big ears.

My long nose is called a trunk.

I am an…(Answer: ELEPHANT)

3. I live in China.

I am a kind of bear.

I am black and white.

I eat bamboo.

I am a…(Answer: PANDA)

4. When the sun is shining bright,

you wear them to protect your eyes.

What are they? (Answer: SUNGLASSES)

5. It’s the same color as its name.

(Answer: ORANGE)

6. Clean, but not water,
White, but not snow,
Sweet, but not ice-cream,
What is it? (Answer: SUGAR) 

A prompt: 6. The national musical instrument is a bagpipe.

Now we must go to the next station.

(Звучит гудок поезда, сообщающий, что поезд отправляется к следующей станции, а затем стук колес, имитирующий движение поезда). (Снова гудок, сообщающий о седьмой остановке).

Attention, please! We’ve arrived at the station 7. It is “Secret”.

The task: we’ve got a letter, but we can’t read it, because it is coded. You must decode this phrase. Take the task, please.

Yes, you are right. We’ve arrived in Scotland. It is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island. Scotland is a very beautiful country with a great amount of natural sightseeing. Wherever you go in Scotland you will get positive impressions.
