Конспект урока на тему «Штаты США»

Цели: 1) актуализировать знания обучающихся о США (вид речевой деятельности – говорение)

           2) расширить знания обучающихся о штатах, их истории, природных особенностях (вид речевой деятельности –  слушание)

           3) способствовать формированию социокультурной компетенции обучающихся.

Задачи: 1) соотнести штаты и их прозвища

              2) выбрать правильный ответ во время прослушивания

Ход урока

1. Определение темы урока, постановка задач

- Hello! How are you doing so far?

(ss answer)

Some facts about the USA are given on the whiteboard (The third largest country in the world, Melting pot, There were 45 presidents in this country …)

- Look at the whiteboard. What country are we going to learn about today?

Elicitation of the objectives

(ss read the objectives and explain them)

2. Актуализация знаний

- What states of the USA do you know? We’re going to have a little competition.

(ss divide into two groups. The task is to name the names of the states in turn. The winner is the team which names the state last)

Параллельно один из учеников работает над заданием на интерактивной доске: соотнести фотографии животных с их названиями.

3. Pre-teach the video (работа со слайдом)

1) - Let’s look at the slide (the slide with the animals). Do you agree with the way the task is done?

(ss agree or disagree)

- Read the names of the animals, please

(ss read the names one by one, drilling takes place if it’s needed)

2) On the slide there are words: jewel, diamond, gem, Abraham Lincoln, guerilla fighters,                anti-slavery,  Civil War , pro-slavery, Cape Code, Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, northeast,  midwest,  western,   southeast. The  words are mixed. Ss should divide them into four groups on four topics.

3) Ss watch the video and complete the task

4) Check up

5) Elicitation of the tasks 2-4

6) Ss watch the video for the second time and complete the task

7) Check up (ss exchange the worksheets and check the neighbour’s work)

8) Elicitation of tasks 5-6

ICQ: - How many states have got two nick-names? (2)

         - How many states are named after people? (4)

         - Will you write the names of the state down? (yes)

9)  Ss watch the video for the third time and complete the task

10) Elicitation of the answers and check up with the slide

5. Подведение итогов. Рефлексия
