Тип урока: урок-закрепление полученных знаний и умений.

Формы и виды работы: индивидуальная, парная, групповая.

Поставленные цели: 

- практическая: активизировать ранее изученную лексику по теме «Mass Media», развивать умения всех видов речевой деятельности ( чтения, говорения, аудирования и письма)

-  образовательная: расширение знаний о Mass Media в Британии.

-  развивающая: развитие речевой догадки, логического мышления.

- личностно-ориентированные: развивать исследовательские и творческие навыки, создать условия для развития навыков общения и совместной деятельности.

- воспитательная: воспитывать интерес к языку и культуре его носителей с помощью привлечения лингвистического материала и ИКТ.

1. Introduction.

T- Good morning, children, dear guests. How are you? They say, if you start your day with a smile, you’ll be in a good mood the whole day. So smile to each other, please.

Today we’ll revise topic words , practice our skills in reading, listening, speaking on a very interesting subject. But first, read the words given to you aloud. Find the odd word and the 1st letters will form the topic of our lesson.

P1- reading;    P2- speaking; P3- magazine … (slide1)

T- So, what is the topic of our lesson?

P1- Mass Media. (slide2)

T- Yes, we’ll speak about Mass Media in our country and in Great Britain. But what Mass Media can you name? (slide3)

P1-  newspapers , television…

2. Phonetic exercise

T-What words  concerning  our subject can you name?

P1- daily, channel…

T- let’s read them from the board (slide4)

Speaking practice

T- What means of getting information do you prefer?

P3 -I prefer browsing the Internet to get different information.

P4 -I’m fond of reading books. I don’t like searching the net.

P5-I like television best of all. I enjoy watching films.

3. Reading

T- Look at the board and define the meanings of the words TV, Radio, Books, The Internet   (slide5)

4. Listening

T- There is another task for you. You are to answer the questions after watching the video.

T- Pupil4 will make up a story of what we’ve seen and heard ( a pupil is making a story)

5. Projects of radio stations (group work)

T-Now, let’s try to present your own projects of radio stations.

 let’s divide the class into 3 groups - 3 radio stations. Each group (“radio station”) will be given a card with the expressions.

The task is    1)  to think of a name for your radio station

  2)  to make a presentation of your radio station using the given  phrases.

 3)  to make up a list of programs that can be heard on the radio station

Card 1: - live sport news

Card 2: -  commercial-free station

                     - A collection of the best songs for kids

                    - To listen to the game shows

T- Pupil1 will look through our school paper and pupil2  will  inform us about the latest news from the world. (newspapers review)

6. Grammar practice (doing exercises)

T- Speaking about the mass media, we should remember about people who help us to be informed. They are: journalists, reporters, correspondents who often interview people. Now  we’ll do one more exercise on the board. Make up the questions and mind the word order. (slide6)

Now you can check your answers (slide7)

But Pupil3 will read the text from the laptop and tell us about the role of Mass Media in our life.

7. Reflation (summing up period)

T- To sum up our work let’s finish the sentences from the board and say what was done at our lesson. (slide8)
