Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку. "Интеллектуальная игра "День святого Валентина"

Цели:

• Обучающая: научить связному монологическому высказыванию по теме «День святого Валентина».
• Развивающая:  развить коммуникативные навыки и навыки письменной речи по теме.
• Воспитательная: сформировать у учащихся познавательный интерес и уважение к истории  стран изучаемого языка; расширить кругозор учащихся.

Задачи:

• Тренировать учащихся в чтении  с полным пониманием прочитанного.
• Учить учащихся работать с текстом, выполняя различные лексико – грамматические упражнения.
• Учить учащихся логическому построению устных высказываний на английском языке по теме.
• Развивать навыки аудирования, говорения, письма.

Оснащение мероприятия: ноутбук, проектор с экраном, колонки; презентация с необходимым материалом (Приложение 1), раздаточный материал.

Dear boys and girls, now you’ll see a game “Saint Valentine’s Day”. Two teams will take part in the game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest.

We are going to celebrate this wonderful holiday, to learn about its history, to listen to some beautiful songs and poems and to take part in different competitions dedicated to Saint Valentine`s Day. Moreover, we have a unique opportunity to talk about love.

 One of the legends says that Valentine was a Christian priest who lived in the 3.centure A.D.

 He was put into prison by roman authorities for his teaching and was beheaded on February 14.

 According to the legend he performed a miracle-he cured his jailer s daughter  of her blindness. Before the execution he wrote her  a letter signed “From your Valentine”.

Сооружается специальный помост, куда взбираются все желающие поведать миру о своих чувствах, и по очереди выкрикивают признания. Самому или самой громкой вручают приз.

День Св. Валентина стал в Швеции «своим» праздником, несмотря на то, что он не имеет никаких исторических связей с прошлым страны. Уже в 60-е годы шведские флористы, вдохновленные американцами, начали разворачивать ежегодные кампании вокруг Дня св. Валентина. В 80-е годы праздник завоевал широкую популярность, и сейчас розы, мармеладки и пирожные в форме сердечка продаются и покупаются в Швеции в огромных количествах.

Roman emperor Claudius did not want young men to get married. He wanted all men to go to war instead. He said no one could get married without his permission.

Student:        But young men and women who were in love wanted to get married. They went to Valentine and he married them in secret. When Claudius found out, he put Valentine into prison. Claudius killed Valentine on February, 14.

Student:        Two hundred years (ago) later, the church made February  14 a special day to remember saint Valentine. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers.
