Тип урока: коммуникативно-ориентированного обучения

Цели урока: Развивать у учащихся речевую компетентность в процессе навыка                                

                      диалогической и монологической речи

                      Развивать у учащихся речевую компетентность в процессе детального чтения

                      Развивать  аудитивную  память, внимание, воображение

                      Познакомить учащихся с жизнью и деятельностью знаменитых людей

Задачи урока:

Обучающие:   Продолжить формирование следующих специальных умений:

                         а) Произносительных навыков учащихся. Обеспечить в ходе урока

                         повторение усвоенных лексических единиц по теме;

                         b) Навыков  чтения с целью охвата общего содержания;

                         c) Восприятия на слух  неадаптированной речи на английском языке

                         d)  Совершенствовать навыки употребления лексических и                      

                              грамматических структур в речи учащихся с соблюдением норм

                              иностранного языка

                         e) Развивать языковую догадку;

                         Продолжить формирование общего и филологического кругозора

Развивающие:  Развивать спонтанную речь учащихся

                           Развивать навыки работы с текстом

                           Развивать память и мышление

                           Развивать коммуникативные навыки и умения

                           Развивать познавательный интерес учащихся

Воспитательные: Воспитание личностных качеств трудолюбия, активности,

                              умения работать в сотрудничестве с другими, коммуникабельности

                               личной и взаимной ответственности, умения работать в команде

Методы:               Интерактивный, наглядный, практический(аудиозапись, наглядный  

                              пособия для построения высказываний, слайды к уроку, интерактивные  

                              задания, CD.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент

 Personality            

T- Good morning everybody I am very glad to see you at today’s lesson How are you?

P – We are fine, thanks.

II. Введение в тему(сообщение целей урока)

T- Our lesson is called Personality

Personality is someone’s character, way of behaving towards others.

What factors influence our personality?

In our lesson you will learn new words, personality adjectives, read the  text and choose the correct answers to the questions, listen to a radio program, practise describing people, talk about famous people and learn about modals for speculation.

III  Речевая зарядка. Активизация имеющихся знаний  учащихся.

Look at the blackboard and pay attention to the  pronunciation of the most difficult: words:

Complexion, plaits, dynamic, materialistic, persistent, sympathetic/ Please, repeat them chorally/

IV Тренировка лексических навыков, введение новой лексики, практика описания людей на фотографиях

We pay much attention to our appearance. We  often judge others by their appearance.

Do you think appearance tells anything about our personality?

I.Slide1. Look at the   key words : appearance. You know all of them except  complexion(the natural  colour and appearance of someone’s skin, plaits( a set of long hair twisted into a design) and ponytail(style of hair tied together at the back like a horse’ s tail)

Add your own  words to the lists,  for example : hair – blond, curly wavy…

a) age: elderly, young, about 70………

b) face: beard, wrinkles, eyelashes, cheeks…..

3. general : overweight, slim, medium height…….

2.Slide 2.  Look at the photos and describe physical appearance of people, using the key words: appearance.

Although appearance is very important. We must also consider other factors such as personality when forming opinions about people.

3. Let’s discuss personality adjectives. Look at the backboard There are  some adjectives that you don’t know for example materialistic(describes someone who wants lots of money to buy many things), moody(describes someone who is easily made angry or upset) and persistent(describes someone who continues to try to be successful),

4. Slide 3. Look at the photos and describe people, using personality adjectives.

IV.  Word Formation. Образование прилагательных- антонимов при  помощи суффиксов.

You can make opposites of adjectives using a prefix.

Slide 3. Make opposites of these adjectives in the correct column.

1. Exercises. Complete the crossword with the correct form of the word in brackets.

V. Развитие навыков  аудирования, монологической и диалогической речи и умения читать и извлекать полную информацию.

There is an amazing way of telling someone’s personality by the kind of chocolates he or she chooses. There is some truth in the saying ”Never judge a book by its cover. “

Slide 4. Look at the photo of the chocolates. Choose one of the chocolates. Then  listen to the radio program. Do you agree with the description of your personality?

1. How would you describe your own personality? Is there anything you’d like to get rid of?
2. What features of character do you value most of all in other people?

1. Slide 5. Act out a dialogue. Speak about someone you know.
2. Работа в малых группах.

Let’s split into two teams: Team A and Team B  Speak about someone famous. I would like to remind you not to give the person’s name/ Try to guess the person.

3. I’ve prepared a text for you and I want you to read and understand what it is about. Will you read it aloud one by one  and choose the correct answers to the questions.

VI. Тренировка грамматические навыки. . Модальные глаголы в значении предположения(can’t , must, may, might, could).

Slide 6.  Look at the two photos of people and say what is happening and imagine things about the people’s lives and their relationships. Please,  read the dialogue with the modal verbs. What do all the sentences express?

Slide 7  Please, look at the sentences and complete the table. Which of the modal verbs express the following?

Look at the sentences and decide what they are talking about(a, b or c)

1. past event
2. unlimited present time
3. something happening now

Slide 8. Speculating about photos.

Look at the people in the photos. Speculate about the people; hold they are; what they do, where they are from; what they are like as people; what the relationship is between them.

Let’s do grammar exercises  and choose the correct  modal verb of speculation.

VII. Подведение итогов урока.

T; - OK. Let’s sum up then. What have you learned today? What have you liked and disliked  at the lesson? I think our lesson was useful. Now you know  more about personality  and you know that that it is not only important the way you look, but also what personality you have.

T; - Write down your home task: write a description of a person you know and like. Follow the stages bellow and refer to Writing Help 6 on page 142.

And don’t forget that “ Being a personality is not the same as having a personality”.
