Ожидаемые результаты: у детей будут совершенствоваться навыки аудирования и говорения. Дети узнают про «гигантские шаги», где это достопримечательность находится, что это за достопримечательность, какие легенды существуют.
Оборудование урока: учебник английского языка для 8 класса «New Matrix», рабочая тетрадь к учебнику «New Matrix», компьютер, проектор, СД диск по данному курсу, презентация, классная доска.

It may be name of any football team. Discuss with your partners about name. Our competition will consist of eight contests. For each contest your team will get some points. The team that gets more points at the end of the competition wins. Are the rules clear to you? Ожидаемые результаты: делая упражнения, тем самым повторив все эти модальные глаголы, дети закрепят их в памяти, а также они будут уметь в чем отличие этих глаголов. И научатся самостоятельно составлять предложения с ними.

Exercise 1. We can use may or might to talk about the future. Look at these sentences. Which two sentences mean the same? Which sentence has a different meaning? In pairs, discuss what you think the difference is. Thank you! | Ask the class which of three sentences has a different meaning. Possible answers: May and might mean more or less the same – both express possibility in the future. Will expresses certainly in the future. |

- A young woman reading a book and eating an apple.
- A group of women watching a film at the cinema. You can see popcorn.
- A group of racing cars on a race track. There’s a big crowd in the background.
T: Exercise 8. Which activities do you like? Which activities would you like to do?
(Students discuss in pairs then feed back to the class. Which activity is the most popular? Which activity would most people like to do?)
T: Exercise 9. Work with a partner. Interview each other to find out about free-time activities. Make notes about your partner’s answers. Ask questions about these things: your partner’s favourite free-time activity, the length of time spent on that activity each week, any other activities he/she enjoys, any sport your partner does.
(Ask the students to prepare their questions before they work in pairs. Monitor the students while they prepare their questions and help them if necessary, especially with form and tenses. Tell the students that they will be reporting their findings, and this will be easier if their notes are clear.)
T: Exercise 10. Find another pair. Ask them your questions and answer theirs. Make a note of their answers and any other interesting information. Move around the class talking to different pairs until you have asked everybody.
(Ask the students to keep in their pairs as they interview other pairs. Students in each pair can take turns to take notes and ask the questions).
