Задачи:1.Активизация произносительных навыков.
2.Активизация лексического материала по теме «Знаменитые люди»
3.Развитие навыков и умений монологической речи.
4. Развитие навыков и умений диалогической речи.
5.Совершенствование навыков письменной речи.
Оборудование: диск, ноутбук, проектор, интерактивная доска, презентация, рабочие тетради, картинки, карточки, костюмы художника и врача.
Ход урока
1.Организационный момент.
T.:Good afternoon! …How are you?...I’m OK, thank you. I’m glad to see you….Who is on duty today? …What is the date today?...
2.Речевая разминка.

4.Развитие навыков устной речи
1)T.: The English are proud of the famous people of their country. What do you know about these people. Who was named “The father of English prose”?
P1:It was Daniel Defoe.

Daniel Defoe
Daniel Defoe was the author of the novel “The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe”. This story was based on the real adventures of a sailor, who lived alone for four years on a desert island.
The main character of the book was Robinson Crusoe. He was a very brave and creative man. He managed to live on the desert island alone for several years using only the things he had on the island. The character learned how to catch goats, to grow plants, to build a house, to make pots, to tell the time. He also met a black man whom he called Friday. Friday became his friend.
This novel became popular in 1719. Now every child knows the adventures of Robinson Crusoe.
T.: Did you read this novel?
P: Yes?...No…
T.: Do you like this novel?
P.: Yes, I do.
T.: Why?
P. I like this novel because it’s interesting.
T.: And what can you say about the main character Robinson Crusoe?
P.: He is clever and brave.
2)T.:Do you like fairy tales?
P.: Yes, I do.
T.:Who is the auther of “The Hobbit”? Do you know this writer?
P.: Yes…This is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.
T.: Yes, it’s right. What do you know about this famous writer? Tell us please.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien
P 2.:John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is a famous English writer. He was born at the end of the 19th century, in 1892. At school Tolkien was fond of modern and ancient languages. He spoke six ancient languages. At Oxford University he studied them. He became famous, however, when his books were published. He wrote several books “The Hobbit”, “The Lord of Rings” . In his books Tolkien describes a fairytale world, where hobbits, magicians, elves and warriors live. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien died in 1973.
T.: Do you like his books?
P.; Yes. I do. I like his books because the main characters are amazing and magic.

T.: You have said that William Turner was famous for his pictures. What can you say about him? What kind of pictures has he painted?

William Turner
1)P 3: William Turner was the son of a barber. At the age of fifteen he exhibited his first picture. Turner was very fond of nature and often went alone on trips through England and Wales. While travelling, he liked to draw ruined abbeys and castles. Turner was famous for his wonderful colours in his pictures. Most of them were landscapes and sea pictures. He was a master of watercolours.
T.: Thank you. But do you know a funny story from the Turner’s life? Listen to and be careful.

2)Joseph Turner was a great English painter. He had a dog which he loved very much. One day his dog fell and broke his leg. Turner didn’t want to send for a vet. He sent for the best doctor in London. When doctor came Turner said,
“Doctor, I’m glad you have come. My dog broke a leg. I know that you are too great for this work, but please, do it. It’s so important to me.”
The doctor was angry but didn’t show it. Next day the doctor asked Turner to come to his house. When the painter got the doctor’s house, the doctor said,
”Mr Turner, I’m glad to see you. I want you to paint my door. I know that you are too great for this work, but please, do it. It’s so important for me.”
T.: Thank you very much. Take your places. Answer the questions:
1) Name the main characters of this story.
P.: The main characters are Turner and a doctor.
T.: What was happened with Turner?
P.: His dog fell and broke his leg.
T.: Did he send for the vet?
P.: No, he didn’t. He sent for the famous doctor.
T.: Was the doctor angry?
P.: Yes, he was.
T.: What did the doctor do next day?
P.: He sent for the famous painter and asked him to paint his door.
3)T.; Yes, It was important for doctor. The doctor had a sense of humour. The most people have sense of humour. Name the well-known English scientist who was fond of studying Biology, especially the development of the human.

Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin is a well-known scientist. He was born at the beginning of the 19th century, in 1809. As a boy, Charles collected all kinds of things, minerals,. He carried out birds’ eggs, insects in the school garden. His name was “Gas”. After 3 years of study at Cambridge University he made a voyage round the world. During the 5 year voyage he studied different kinds of plants and animals in all part of the world. His theory of evolution opened a new scientific period of Biology, the Darwinian period. Charles Darwin died in 1882 and was buried in Westminster Abbey.
4) Thank you. Let’s work in groups. Look at the portraits of these people. You have the cards at the desks. Match the people and the expressions.

A:Are you? Well, as for me, I’d like to be a famous scientist or a famous writer.
B:Good luck! Let’s meet again in 15 years and see.
