Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку "Your game"

Цели игры:

1)обобщение и повторение изученного материала по теме;

2) активизация социокультурных знаний по теме;

3) развитие навыков аудирования, говорения;

4) повышение мотивации изучения английского языка;

5) повышение познавательной активности учащихся;

6) развитие культуры общения;

7) развитие познавательного интереса к изучаемому предмету.

Оснащение: Компьютер с мультимедийным проектором и экраном, электронная презентация Your game, выполненная в Power Point, листки и карандаши (ручки) для жюри, для участников 3 раунда, таблицы для подсчета баллов (возможно в Microsoft Excel).

Правила игры:

В игре участвуют все учащиеся класса (подгруппы).

Игра состоит из 3 раундов. В каждом раунде ведущий (учитель) задает игрокам вопросы. После каждого раунда жюри подводит итоги: подсчитывает количество баллов за правильные ответы. После 1 раунда остается несколько игроков, набравших наибольшее количество баллов, преодолевших установленный барьер.

Во 2 раунде есть вопросы, называемые "Your game", "The auction question", "A pig in a poke", правила ответов на которые изложены в ходе игры.

В 3 раунде побеждает игрок, набравший большее количество баллов.

В ходе игры болельщики могут отвечать на вопросы игры, если участники не знают ответа.

Участники должны выбрать все предлагаемые вопросы.

Каждый правильный ответ на вопрос 1 раунда приносит 10 баллов,

Вопросы 2 раунда - 10, 20, 30, 40. 50 баллов

Стоимость вопроса 3 раунда должны определить сами игроки.

Начало и завершение каждого раунда и игры в целом отмечается ударом гонга или отрывком музыкального произведения, например, исполняемого "Beatles".

Ход игры

T: "Good morning! I'm glad to see you! It's nice to see our guests! (Ведущий представляет членов жюри)

T: (To the jury): Today you are given a very important task. You are going to watch our game and help us decide who will win.

T: (To the class): So, students, we've met to play an intellectual game. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be the main object of the game - "Your game". The rules are very simple: you should speak English giving answers to the questions. Everyone can take part in the 1st round of this game.

Демонстрируется электронная презентация игры, где определена тематика, цена вопроса. На слайдах с темами - гиперссылки перехода на другую, соответствующую вопросу, презентацию. По щелчку выходят ответы на вопросы.

The 1st round

T: The themes are: "One, two, three", "Mosaic", "Holidays", "Geography". Every theme consists of 5 easy questions. Every question can bring you 10 points. (Участники по очереди выбирают вопрос для себя, называя тему и номер вопроса)

1. How many countries are there in the UK? (4)
2. How many colours are there in the British flag? (3)
3. How old is London? (more then 2000)
4. How many seas is Great Britain washed by? (2)
5. How many parts does the Palace of Westminster consist of? (3 - the Royal Apartments, the House of Lords and the House of Commons)

"Mosaic"

1. What title does Charles, the oldest son of the British Queen, have? (the prince of Wales)
2. What is the monetary unit of the UK? (a pound)
3. "What are the oldest and the most prestigious universities in the UK?" (Oxford, Cambridge).
4. What river does the capital of the UK stand on? (the Thames)
5. The people say the monster lives in this famous British lake. (Lock Ness)

"Holidays"

1. When do the British celebrate St. Valentine's Day? (14, February)
2. Where do parents put Christmas presents for their children? (stockings or socks)
3. What are the symbols of Easter? (eggs, rabbits)
4. What holidays do British students have? (summer, autumn, winter, spring)
5. What holidays do the British celebrate with one week interval? (Christmas, New Year)

"Geography"

1. What country is the largest in the UK?
2. What are the biggest cities in the UK? Name 5. (London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow)
3. How do the English call La Manche? (the English Channel)
4. The English often say they have no climate only :. . (weather)
5. Great Britain and the UK. What is the geographical unit and what is the political one? (Great Britain - geographical, the UK - political)

"Going sightseeing"

1. What is the name of the famous British clock? (Big Ben)
2. What memorial can you see on Trafalgar Square in London? (admiral Nelson)
3. What is the official residence of the British Queen in London? (Buckingham Palace)
4. This Australian state is named after the state in the UK. (New South Wales)
5. Where was the theatre "Globe" built? (Stratford-on-Avon)

The 2nd round

T: So we've got _ participants. In the 2nd round the rules are the same, but the price of the questions varies from 10 to 50 points, and there are some different questions. They are:

"Your game" - you must give your price to the question, but it mustn't be more than the whole number of your points.

"The auction question" - any participant can buy your question by auctioning. Don't be too wasteful.

"A pig in a poke" - you must give this question to any participant of the 2nd round you like.

"Symbols and traditions"

"Games"

The 3rd round

T: In the 3rd round the theme is: "The British History". Write down your price, please. But it mustn't be more than the whole number of your points. (Участники определяют каждый для себя стоимость вопроса и пишут ее на листах, которые выдал ведущий, затем отвечают на вопрос письменно). Now the question is:

Жюри подводит итоги, определяется победитель игры)
