Внеурочное занятие для учеников 6 класса

Урок - соревнование.

 Задачи урока:

1) Учебные – совершенствовать навыки говорения и чтения; расширить словарный запас по теме «Спорт»; активизировать знания об официальных Олимпийских символах (флаг, эмблема, девиз, талисман), о понятии Зимние Олимпийские игры.

2) Развивающие – развивать умения высказываться логично, расширить кругозор.

3) Воспитательные – привить учащимся нормы здорового образа жизни, любовь к спорту; создать условия для применения в практической деятельности олимпийских ценностей.

Методы работы: игровые, групповые.

Материально-техническое обеспечение: компьютер, проектор, интерактивная доска, детские рисунки, раздаточный материал.

Ход урока.

(Слайд 1)

1. Организационный момент. Беседа с учащимися о задачах и целях урока.

-Good afternoon, dear friends!

Glad to meet you! How are you?

-This year began very well for us. In 2014 happened the biggest event in the world in the Russian Federation.  Do you know what I’m speaking about?

-Today we will speak about the Olympic Games, play games, and have different tasks. First of all I will tell you about the history of Olympics.

2. Основная часть урока

- Well, let's start! How do you think, when did the history of the Olympic Games start? It started many years ago.

-You are right. Look at the board, please.

- The Olympic Games have a very long history. They began in 777 ВС in Greece and took place every four years for nearly twelve centuries at Olympia.

- They were held on the mountain Olympus. That’s why the games were called the Olympic Games. The ancient Greek Olympics were held every four years in summer. For the period of games all the wars stopped. So the Olympic Games became the symbol of space and friendship.

- Then for a long time the games were not held.

- Then the history of the modern Olympics started. In 1894 the French archeologist Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games. Of course, the First Modern Olympics were held in Greece in Athens in 1896. Since then there were held twenty seven summer and twenty seven winter games.

- Look at the motto and the flag of the Olympic Games. The motto is written in Latin: Citius, Altius, Fortius. That's in Russian means: Быстрее, выше, сильнее. Can you translate the motto into English? (Faster, higher, stronger.)

-Well done. Now pay your attention to the Olympic flag. It has five rings of different colors. What do this flag symbolize? (Each color means one continent.)

Blue ring is for Europe.

Black ring is for Africa.

Yellow ring is for Asia.

Red ring is for America.

Green ring is for Australia.

- OK! It is true! Well done!

-What does white color symbolize?  ( Peace, friendship, freedom.)

- Do you know who is this man?  He is the 9th president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.

-Well, my dear friends! Now let’s speak about our days. Do you know where and when were the last Olympic games held?    (The OG were held in Sochi from 7 to 23 February in 2014)  Sochi is a beautiful city. It is situated not far from us. It is situated on the coast of a the Black Sea near the Caucasus mountains.

- Let's revise some facts about the Olympic symbols.

- What is the motto of the OG in Sochi 2014? Жаркие. Зимние. Твои. – Hot. Cool. Yours.

- And now let’s speak a little about symbols of the Olympics Sochi 2014? We call them «Талисманы» in Russia.  That’s In English means “Mascots”. What are Mascots of Sochi 2014?

( The Polar Bear, The Hare and the Leopard.)

-Yes, you are right.

-And this is the mascots of the Paralympics games in Sochi 2014. The Snowflake  and the Ray of Light.

Well, boys and girls we will have a few tasks. Let’ divide in two teams dear children. And our friends will be the third team.  So we have three mascots, and we will take them as the names of teams.             1. – Bears.     2. – Leopards.     3. – Hares.

Well, now name the winter sports, please. Let’ remember all winter sports we know. Look at the pictures and name the sport.

Task 1. “Name the continents”

T: And our first contest is “Name the Continents”. You should make the task. Each team will make the task in its turn. You will get a “snowflake” for your each answer. The team that gets more “snowflakes” will become the winner.

• This continent is a big island.
• Here is situated the biggest desert in the world.
• Here is situated the deepest lake in the world.
• This continent consists of two parts.
• Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica are situated here.
• Egypt, Mali, Angola, Namibia are situated here.
• Here is situated the highest mountain in the world.

-By the way, do you know who is this man and woman? I’ll give five points that team which will tell me who are they.

This is Bladislav Tretjak – former goaltender for the Soviet Union’s national hockey team. Now he is the current president of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia.

Irina Rodnina – Figure skater who is the only pair skater to win 10 World Championships and 3 Olympic gold medals.

They lighted the Olympic Flame in Sochi on 7th of February on the ceremony of opening of XXII Winter Olympic Games.

Task 3. “True or False”

Our next contest is “True or False”. Listen to the statements and say which one is true or false. If I’m Wrong you are to correct me.
