Hobbies differ like tastes. If you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste, you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting.

Almost everyone collects something at some period in his life: stamps, coins, matchboxes, books, records, postcards, toys, watches. Some collections have no real value. Others become so large and so valuable that they are housed in museums and galleries.

Collecting coins is interesting. This hobby can teach you a lot

Here it is a United States of America Collector’s Map. It is interesting to know that a usual coin of a quarter of dollar has been unchangeable since 1932.

You can see a portrait of George Washington and some legends: on the upper part “United States of America”, on the right “In God We Trust” (it is a motto of the USA), on the left “Liberty” and on the lower part there is “Quarter Dollar

To attract attention of the people, the government decided to issue 25-cent coins for every of 50 states of America.

On the reverse of the coin you can see any scene from the state’s history, traditions and symbols. The variants of the drawings were created by the inhabitants of the states, but the final variant was chosen by the government of the states.

The coins of the quarter of dollar were issued in the same order in what the states joined the USA. These coins are not rare.

The coins were minted in 1999-2008 in three places: the usual coins were minted in Denver and Philadelphia (you can see letters “D” and “P” on the coins). D P

The improved coins were minted in San- Francisco (you can see the letter “S” on the coin)

In April 1803 the United States bought the Louisiana area from France.

1867 – Alaska was sold to US by Russia for $7,2 mln .
