Урок английского языка в 8 классе (УМК «Английский с удовольствием/Enjoy English» Биболетова М. З.)

Тема: «The environment»

Цель урока: Обобщение лексико-грамматического материала

Задачи урока: 

Образовательные: 

- Организовать закрепление тематической лексики в устной речи

- Создать условия для развития навыков говорения, чтения, письма

Развивающие: 

- развитие психических функций, связанных с речевой деятельностью, таких как  внимание,  логическое мышление,  способность к анализу и синтезу, языковая догадка.

Воспитательные:

- повышение интереса к изучению английского языка,

- воспитание культуры общения, умения внимательно слушать собеседника, уважительного отношения друг к другу.

Оснащение урока: доска, компьютер, экран, мультимедийная установка для показа презентации, раздаточный материал

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент, приветствие:

Тeacher: Good morning, boys and girls!

Pupils: Good morning!

Teacher: How are you today?

Pupils: Fine, thanks, and you?

Teacher: I’m fine too. Thank you. Sit down, please.

2. Сообщение темы и цели урока:

Look at our screen. There are some clue words, please, read them and guess main word:

Air, cities, plants, rivers, animals, roads, land, buildings, forest

Pupils: environment

Teacher: Yes, we’ll speak about the environment. At the lesson we’ll repeat the words, read and discuss problems of the environment. At the end of lesson you will answer the question “How can we protect our environment?”

3. Речевая разминка:

What is the environment?

Pupils: The environment is…

The protection of the environment is a serious problem today, isn’t it?

Pupils: Yes, it is.

Are there any environmental problems?

Pupils: Yes, there are.

What types of pollution do you know?

4. Активизация изученной лексики:

Pair work. Look through these pictures. Name types of pollution. Answer the questions.

Questions: What are the effects of pollution on the environment? What are the effects of pollution on the people?

5. Тренировка навыков говорения:

Игра «Find match». Учащиеся получают 2 типа флеш-карт. Одни ученики имеют карточки с проблемами окружающей среды, другие – карточки с определениями. Двигаясь по кругу, нужно найти свою пару.

6. Тренировка навыков чтения:

Group work. Divide into 3 groups. Each group gets text. Task: read text, translate it, answer questions. Then exchange texts with other groups. After reading discuss texts.

REDUCE!

Really, the best thing we can do for the planet is to use less   of it. At the Earth of the environmental crisis is our consumer society. Here are some questions you can ask yourself before buying something: Do I, or the other person I am buying this for, really need this? Is there another product which would do the same thing but more sustainable? Will this last a long time? Did I know how this item was made, how it will be used and how it will be disposed of?

REUSE!

Regrettably, because we live in a “disposable society”, we are encouraged to buy a new “improved” item even if the one we have can be repaired. When we buy, we should buy items which are durable, we should maintain them, and have them repaired when necessary. If we practice this, many things can not only last a life-time, but they can be passed along generation to generation. If something is truly unusable for its original proposes, try to be more creative and think of how else it might be used. When you’re done with it, think of whether someone else might be able to use it.

RECYCLE!

Rather than throwing an item out when neither you nor anyone else can make use of it, have it recycled. And while recycling is not perfect, it is better than sending goods to landfill or having them incinerated. Find out what types of materials can be recycled in your area. Clean and sort the materials before putting them out on the curb – often collectors will not pick up recycling that is mixed or contains non-recyclables.

Statements to discuss:

1. The main reason why our planet is in danger is our uncontrolled wish to buy goods even they aren't necessary. 

2. People should buy products that can last for a long time.

3. Everybody should keep things in working order and also restore them good condition in order to put the “Reuse” principle in practice.
