Ход вечера

Teacher1: Dear children and guests! On the 25th of December people celebrate  Christmas  – a beautiful holiday, which is loved by children and adults; when everything is decorated with lights and toys; when we see Christmas trees everywhere; when people buy presents and cook special food, send cards and have parties! And we’ll celebrate this holiday now!

Teacher2: I want to introduce our guests: the students of 9-11 classes.

Today we’ll have an English contest – all the tasks will be connected with Christmas. We’ll play games, sing songs– so I hope that we’ll enjoy this holiday, and have a good time.

So I wish you good luck! Everyone will get a toy to decorate the Christmas tree for the best result in each competition, and at the end we’ll see who is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, which group is better, and of course you’ll get presents.

Let’s start!

The students of 9V class prepared a short play about Christmas.

Watch them and cheer them up.

Звучит Рождественская музыка. На сцену выходят Ангелы с песенниками и становятся полукругом. Торжественно читают четверостишия.

Angel 1:

Наrk! The herald angels sing,

Glory to the newborn king!

Peace on Earth and mercy mild

God and sinners reconciled!

Angel 2:

Joyful, all the nations, rise,

Join the triumph of the skies,

With angelic host proclaim,

Christ is born in Bethlehem!

Angel 3 :

Hark! The herald angels sing

Glory to the newborn King!

Все исполняют песню “Silent Night”.

Angel 4:

Good Christian men, rejoice!

With heart and soul and voice!

Now hear of endless bliss!

Joy! Joy! Jesus Christ was born for this!

Angel 5:

Good Christian men, rejoice!

With heart and soul and voice!

Give heed to what we say

News! News! Jesus Christ is born today!

Ангелы расступаются, освобождая центр сцены. Зрители видят сцену: на сене стоят ясли, где лежит новорожденный “Христос” Вокруг сидят Мария и ещё два человека . Все исполняют песню “What Child is this”.

На сцену выходят Три царя, им навстречу “старая женщина” Бефана.

1King: Good morning to you, old woman! Tell us, what country is it? And what is your name, kind woman?

Bephana: This is Italy and my name is Bephana.

2 King: And we’re the three Kings– Gaspar, Melhior and Baltaras. Angels are singing Christ is born today. Be so kind; show us the way there.

Bephana: Oh, no! I’m so busy today. I can’t show you the way! Don’t ask me, I see no reason to leave my housework!

3 King: OK, we’ll find the way to that holy place. But you’ll be punished for that. From now and on every Christmas you will roam about the country trying to find Christ’s holy face among the children’s.

На сцене появляется “бедная девушка Мадлен”.

Мадлен: (обращаясь к ангелам): Оh, dear Angels! I’ve come here to fall on my knees before my King, but I’m so poor, that I have nothing to give him.

Один из ангелов протягивает Мадлен розы

Angel 5: Take these Christmas roses, my poor girl.

Maria: Thank you very much for coming to see me and for all your gifts.

Звучит музыка « So this is Xmas»

Angel 6: Today is Christmas Eve. Look! Everything is rush and hustle! Streets are decorated with lights. In homes there is a great air of expectation. Children are decorating Christmas trees and preparing Christmas socks. Today we are here to wish you  а Merry Christmas!

Teacher 1: The play with the Crackers. Everyone stands in a circle holding the small crackers they brought to the party. Someone reads the story below. Every time the word << Right>> is read, everyone passes his cracker to the right. Every time the word “Left” is read, crackers are passed to the left. The cracker that each person is holding at the end of the story is the cracker he or she keeps.

Story.

Christmas was almost here and Mother Right was finishing the Christmas baking. Father Right, Susie Right and Billy Right returned from their Christmas shopping. “ I don’t have any money Left”, said Susie Right. “Did you leave the basket of food in the hall ?” asked Mother Right. “ I Left it Right where you told me to”, said Billy Right. Father Right Left the kitchen and brought in the Christmas Tree. Then Susie Right, Mother Right, Father Right and Billy Right decorated the tree and say carols. Then they Left all presents under the tree and went to bed. They each hope they’ve selected the Right gifts  for their family.

Now I hope you have the Right present for yourself, because that’s all that is Left  of our story, except to wish you a Merry Christmas, isn’t that Right?

Teacher 2: Your home task was to make Christmas cards and an angel, now we want you to show us what have you done.

Ведущий 1:

And now at last we are going to listen to our singers with their songs about Christmas and New Year’s Day. Let’s listen and if you want sing with them.

Ведущий 2:  Aren’t you tired? Don’t you want to dance the Penguin Dance?

Teachers: Well our Christmas party is coming to its end, we hope that all of you had a lot of fun today. We wish a lot of love, happiness and success on Christmas.

Звучит музыка. На сцену выходят два ведущих. Narrator 1: It’s Christmas! Merry Christmas!                                                                                                                 Yes, it’s merry, merry Christmas.                                                                                                                                      It’s time for hanging stockings,                                                                                                                                           It’s time for riding sleighs,                                                                                                                                                       It’s time for jolly greeting,                                                                                                                                                          Trees and holly, overeating.                                                                                                                                         Oh, I love you Merry Christmas!                                                                                                                                              You are the best of holidays!

Narrator 2: Christmas is the best holiday for most British families. It’s the most important festival of the year. It combines the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ with the traditional festivities of winter.

Narrator 1: The word Christmas comes from the term Christ Mass (месса, обедня). It falls on December 25 in the western Christian churches and on the 7th of January in the Orthodox (православная) Churches and in Russia (because they follow the Julian calendar).

Narrator 2: They say that for more than three centuries Christ’s Mass was a movable feast. Although Christmas is celebrated on December 25th the actual day of Christ’s birth is unknown.

Narrator 1: The celebration of Christ’s birth on December 25th began in Rome in the 4th century. From Rome the December Holiday spread to Christians everywhere.

Narrator 2:

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas                                                                                                                                                       Just like the ones I used to know,                                                                                                                                                    Where the treetop glisten,                                                                                                                                           And the children listen,                                                                                                                                                                               To hear sleigh bells in the snow.

Песня на видео “Jingle Bells”

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,

Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.

Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright;

What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight!

C h o r u s:

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

Oh! What fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

Oh! What fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh!

Narrator 1: Саn you do our Christmas crossword? Find ten Christmas words.

Narrator 2: Do you know what mistletoe is? (Изображение на экране) It is an evergreen plant with small leaves and small white berries. On Christmas Eve there is a bunch of mistletoe hanging in every house. Under the mistletoe people kiss each other.

Narrator 1: Dear, darling, quick, let’s go,                                                                                                                                                                And stand beneath the mistletoe.                                                                                                                                                      You kiss me and I’ll kiss you,                                                                                                                                                            Here comes Friend, kiss her too.                                                                                                                                                Dear, darling, quick, let’s go,                                                                                                                                        And stand beneath the mistletoe.

Narrator 2: (слайд ) Do you know anything about the reindeer that helps Father Christmas? Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was created by Robert L. May in 1939 for a book that his employer, Montgomery Ward department store, distributed to children of its customers. Rudolph begins the story as an outcast (изгой) because of his shiny nose but ends up a hero when Santa calls upon him to lead the sleigh team on a foggy Christmas Eve. Johnny Marks wrote a song about Rudolph in 1949, and it became a huge hit.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,                                                                                                                                       Had a very shiny nose.                                                                                                                                           And if you ever saw it,                                                                                                                                                        You would even say it glows.(сиять)

The song “Last Christmas” (слова песни на экране)

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

But the very next day, you gave it away

This year, to save me from tears

I'll give it to someone special

    Once bitten and twice shy

I keep my distance but you still catch my eye

Tell me baby do you recognize me?

Well it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me

I wrapped it up and sent it

With a note saying "I Love You" I meant it

Now I know what a fool I've been

But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again

A crowded room, friends with tired eyes

I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice

My God I thought you were someone to rely on

Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart

A man under cover but you tore me apart

Now I've found a real love you'll never fool me again

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart

(Gave you my heart)

A man undercover but you tore me apart

Next year

I'll give it to someone; I'll give it to someone special

Special

Someone

Someone

I'll give it to someone; I'll give it to someone special

Who’ll give me something in return.

I'll give it to someone

Hold my heart and watch it burn

I'll give it to someone; I'll give it to someone special

I've got you here to stay

I can love you for a day

I thought you were someone special

Gave you my heart

I'll give it to someone; I'll give it to someone

Last Christmas I gave you my heart

You gave it away

I'll give it to someone; I'll give it to someone

Wolf: But does she live alone?

The song “Merry Christmas”

Narrator 2: Aren’t you tiered of sitting. Do you want to move a bit and dance?

The video song “The penguin dance".

Hello, fellow-penguins of our planet. Are you feeling good? One of the creatures of our planet are the penguins. So, we are going  for the dance which is called " The penguin dance".

Put  your hands afield the air

shake your bodies round.

Hands upon your toes,

And turn around, around.

Hands wave up high,

Hands wave down low,

Stamp with your feet

And jump, jump, jump.

Yeah, as you know, the penguins are very special on our planet. Are you special too? Now, let's all stand behind each other because it's time for the penguinwalk.

******

Aren't you tired yet? I would like to introduce to you the craziest penguin on the planet. He's the one and only Schiffie. Are you doing it with us? Here he comes again.

Narrator 1: Now it’s time for tongue twisters. Can you pronounce them as quick as possible?

Pink silk stockings with seven silk spots.

Santa's sack sags slightly.

Seven Santas chose cheese, cherries and sherry.

Narrator 2: Drawing is one of children’s favourite activities. I’d like two people to come here and draw a snowman with his or her eyes tied.

Narrator 1: New Year is coming. Can we listen to your New Year resolutions? You’ll get a prize for the most original one.                                                                                                                                                            Песня “Happy New Year”

 No more champagne
And the fireworks are through
Here we are, me and you
Feeling lost and feeling blue
It's the end of the party
And the morning seems so grey
So unlike yesterday
Now's the time for us to say

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbour is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Sometimes I see
How the brave new world arrives
And I see how it thrives
In the ashes of our lives
Oh yes, man is a fool
And he thinks he'll be okay
Dragging on, feet of clay
Never knowing he's astray
Keeps on going anyway

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbour is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
You and I

Seems to me now
That the dreams we had before
Are all dead, nothing more
Than confetti on the floor
It's the end of a decade
In another ten years time
Who can say what we'll find
What lies waiting down the line
In the end of eighty-nine
