Пояснительная записка

     Данный урок проводится в 6 классе в качестве обобщающего по теме «Страны и континенты».

Тип урока: урок - соревнование (обобщающий)

Цели урока:

1. Воспитание личности, желающей и способной к коммуникативной деятельности на иностранном языке
2. Формирование культуры уч-ся в области ИКТ

Задачи урока:

1. Обобщить и закрепить основные знания, умения и навыки уч-ся по теме
2. Расширить знания уч-ся по данной теме
3. Продолжить развитие интереса у уч-ся к изучаемому языку
4. Воспитывать гражданско-патриотическое отношение к России – крупнейшей стране мира
5. Формировать значимость изучения английского языка, как языка международного общения
6. Закрепить фонетическую грамотность уч-ся
7. Продолжить обучение уч-ся разговорным формулам – клише
8. Продолжить развитие способностей уч-ся использовать английский язык как инструмент общения на межкультурном уровне в устной и письменной форме, в «диалогах культур»

2. Сообщение темы и целей урока:

T: So you know that different people have different traditions, they live in different countries and on different continents, they speak different languages.

And today we’ll try to revise everything you know about countries and continents, about nationalities, their languages and flags. You will know why it is important to learn English.

Our lesson is going to be very unusual as we’ll have the competition. And besides you may give the answer with the help of the computer. You will work with the multimedia map and the crossword. You should use your Flash cards and you will get points for each right answer.

Now let’s start our lesson.

3. Работа с мультимедийной географической картой: Континенты

(на экране появляется карта мира. Названия континентов скрыты под знаком «?». После того, как ученик нажимает на знак «?» появляется в увеличенном виде, окрашенный в свой цвет материк, затем появляется его название)

– Here is the map of the world. You can’t find the names of the continents.  You will be able to  open the name of the continent on the map if you guess the riddle.

(уч-ся по очереди выходят к компьютеру и после отгадывания загадки называют континент, который они собираются открыть на карте. Прежде чем уч-ся откроет название, остальные уч-ся показывают свои Flash cards. Затем сверяют свой ответ с правильным. За каждый правильный ответ в копилку команды отправляется жетончик. В конце урока подсчитывается кол-во жетончиков и по таблице баллов  выставляется оценка)

1. This continent is washed by the Pacific Ocean in the east, the Atlantic in the west, the Arctic Ocean in  the North, the Indian Ocean in the South. It is the biggest in the world.  The Urals separate it on two parts.  What’s its  name? (Europe and Asia is)
2. This continent was discovered by Columbus but he didn’t know about it. (North America)
3. This continent is the smallest. Some scientists call it “big island”. (Australia)
4. This continent is the hottest in the world, is famous for its ancient civilization. (Africa)
5. This continent is washed by the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. The biggest river is Amazon. (South America)
6. This continent is situated in the most south point of the Earth, is washed by the South Ocean, is covered by ice. (Antarctica)

5. Работа с мультимедийной географической картой: Страны и столицы. Учебная ситуация: на международной конференции

- Imagine that you’re at an international conference. Say what your name (nationality) is, where are you from, what is the capital of your country (show it on the map), what language you speak. But there is one problem – all the letters in the words are mixed. To find the European countries click the star on the map.

EXAMPLE:   Hi, my name is Laurence. I’m from France. I’m French. The capital of my country is Paris. My language is French.

4. You’ve got the cards with the names of the countries on your desks.

(У уч-ся на партах находятся карточки с названием той страны,  которую они должны представить. Ученики по очереди выходят к мультимедийной  карте,  представляют свою страну, находят название на карте. Однако название страны зашифровано (перепутаны буквы в слове). Ученик с помощью курсора мышки щелкает на название страны, на экране появляется крупным планом ее изображение, буквы становятся в правильном порядке. Под названием столицы прячется фотография с ее изображением. Щелчком мышки уч-ся ее открывает.)

5. Hi, Rita, Linda, George … we are glad to meet you at our international conference. You all speak your own languages. But do you understand English? Why are many people in the world interested in learning English? So, listen to the dialogue and be ready to answer my questions.

Brain: Hi, Helen! Haven’t seen you for ages! How are you?

Helen: Hi, Brain! I’m just fine, thanks. And how are you?

Brain: Fine too. I last saw you in the library. You were preparing for the talk on your favourite subject – English, of course.

Helen: True. But why are you laughing? I think English is the most popular language nowadays. People all over the world speak English. In Russia and France, in Germany and Italy, in Spain and Egypt people learn English as a foreign language.

Brain: I know they do. By the way, they say, that English has become the most important international language of nowadays.

Helen: Oh, yes, it certainly has. People will understand you practically everywhere if you speak English. In most of the countries people speak English and their native language of course.

Brain: And in what countries do people use English as their native language?

Helen: In Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. These are English-speaking countries.

Brain: I’m going to visit Germany this year. But I can’t speak German. And I have no time to learn it.

Helen: It is not a problem if you know English. I’m sure people in Germany will understand you. I wish you good luck.

Brain: Thank you. Nice to meet you.

Helen: By, then.

11. So you can see that English is the language of international communication. Wherever you go everyone will understand you if you speak English. But even in English-speaking countries there are some differences in using language. You will know about it during our next lesson.
12. For today our lesson is over. I have only two questions: Have you enjoyed the lesson and have we reached the purpose? How can I get the answer on my questions? I’ll know the answer when you fulfill these blanks. You know how to do it. We did it a lot of time. While you are doing this work I am counting your points to give you marks.

(на партах уч-ся находятся бланки для заполнения по трем параметрам: понравился ли урок, что я теперь знаю и что я теперь умею. Во время заполнения бланков учитель подсчитывает баллы и выставляет оценки уч-ся)

8. Домашнее задание

- You know that we have a traditional Festival of friendship between different nationalities in our school. This year we’ll try to do it using English language. That’s why you should prepare the wall papers about different countries. The task for the first group – Egypt, for the second group  - any country situated on South American continent.
