I’d like to go to Switzerland on my holiday, what can you suggest?
- Look, listen and make a choice. Girls, help me.
Zürich
We want to suggest you Zürich, one of the beautiful cities in the world!
Occupying a central position at the heart of Europe, the Greater Zürich Area is one of the world's leading financial centers. Low taxes, a highly qualified workforce, renowned education and research institutes, and an exceptional quality of life are what make this location stand out.
For these reasons, numerous international corporations have chosen to locate in the Greater Zürich Area. With three million inhabitants, 1.5 million jobholders, and 140,000 companies, the Greater Zürich Area is the economic сenter of Switzerland - the ideal location for companies with vision!
Why Zürich?
-Zürich lies in the center of Europe;
- Its population is tolerant and open;
-Zürich offers a unique quality of life;
-It is the economic motor of Switzerland;
-Zürich is a prominent educational center;
-It is home to over fifty museums and a mountain of galleries;
-Zürich has internationally renowned financial services;
-It is home to the headquarters and research centers of international companies such as Google, IBM and Microsoft;
-There are no such things as a national motto, a national flower or a national animal in Switzerland. But the “Edelweiss” has the status of an inofficial national flower.
-There were well-known personalities in Zürich, such as James Joyce, Richard Wagner, Goethe, Mozart and even Casanova were drawn to Zürich to enjoy the pleasures of this cultural centre and gateway to the Alps. Zürich is a safe, stable place to live. ... and living in Zürich is just great!
-I see. But I like shopping very much. Where can I find unusual things in Zürich?
- The main street of the city (Bahnhofstrasse) is just for you. It’s the main business street of Europe. There are a lot of shops of world famous companies and offices of the largest Swiss banks, one of them “ Gnomen von Zürich”. - Just here there are “the Zürich gnomes” with their treasures.
Gnomes’ dance («Ach Du Lieber Augustin» )
( Four Official Languages in Swiss )
1 dwarf : Guten Tag! Wie geht’s? Ich komme aus Zürich. ( German)
2 dwarf: Salut ! Comment ca va? Je suis de Geneve. ( French)
3 dwarf: Buongiorno! Come sta? Sono da Lugano. (Italian)
4 dwarf: Buna saira! Co vai cunvus? Jau sun dad Graubunden. ( Romansh)
Edelweiss
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever
Small and white
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever
-It’s quite interesting! But I have no much money to save in Swiss banks. I know one Swiss proverb: “If the mountains had a motherland, it would be Switzerland”. I want to see mountains, to enjoy nature.
- OK. We can suggest you the Alps.
The Alps
Welcome to this picturesque place!
- The Swiss Alps are known throughout the world for their fantastic skiing conditions and scenery. When planning a trip to the Swiss Alps, you have several different destinations at your disposal, and one of the most beautiful is Wallis.
- Wallis (also known as Valais) is home to the largest glacier in the Alps, the Grosser Aletsh glacier, which has become one of the areas main attractions. In addition
to the glacier, the area offers fantastic hiking trails and easy accessibility for trips to other countries. Wallis is located in the southern part of Switzerland, on the border of France and Italy. Due to its proximity to the two countries, Wallis is a melting pot of culture.
- The best way of seeing the Swiss Alps is with one of the scenic trains that frequent the main alpine destinations in Switzerland. Scenic Trains (Glacier Express)
is a panoramic trip through the Alpine heartland of Switzerland, and a memorable way
of traveling from the eastern to the western Swiss Alps.
- My granny is a traveler. She’d like to go with me.
-The Glacier Express is absolutely perfect for travel with an elderly person. A window seat brings the beautiful landscape so close that you can almost touch it. The train doesn't travel at great speed, so each vista, each turn; each angle can be appreciated with great delight.
- Therefore, there is no noise and no bad smells! It’s more leisurely walking and cable-car rides to see the Matterhorn close up. The Matterhorn is the most famous mountain (4,478 m) in Valais and Pennine Alps bordering Italy. It looks like a pyramid.
-I’ll go to the Alps.
Switzerland is a fairy-tale with its dwarfs, treasures and unforgettable mountains,
Its cheese and chocolates, famous watches and
safe banks. It’s a dream, a present, a souvenir.
From souvenirs to more souvenirs
A lonely room and empty chair
Another day so hard to bear
The things around me that I see remind me of
The past and how it all used to be
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With days gone by when our hearts had all to give
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With dreams you left behind
I'll keep on turning in my mind
There'll never be another you
No one will share the worlds we knew
And now that loneliness has come to take your place
I close my eyes and see your face
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With days gone by when our hearts had all to give
From souvenirs to more souvenirs I live
With dreams you left behind
I'll keep on turning in my mind..
