I.Оргмомент

Цель: создать эмоциальный настрой  к деятельности на уроке, создать атмосферу дружелюбия и симпатии.

Приветствие учителя.

Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down, please. We have an unusual lesson today, because our parents are invited to our lesson and they will be our guests. There is something wrong with our teacher today. She can’t speak. She has a sore throat. So, I will be your teacher today and Larisa Ivanovna will be my assistant.  Уou may address me Miss Karina.

OK, let’s start.

II.Целеполагание и мотивация.

Цель: Создать эмоциональный настрой урока, вести учащихся в учебную ситуацию

People in Great Britain|,Russia  and North Ossetia  celebrate different holidays. Name the holidays that are very popular among them.

T:Oh, it’s Santa Clause. Come in ,please. I see you are tired. Have a rest. Sit down , please.

Santa Clause: Thank you my dear. I  am really tired.

T: Children, you may ask him questions.

Suggested questions:

1. Where are you from?

(I am from North Pole)

2. How did you get here?

(On north  reindeer)

3.And where are they now?

(near the school waiting for me)

4.Can we ride on them?

(Sure, but not just now. They are having a rest now)

5. And how long did it take you to get here?

(About two days.  )

6. What was the weather like in North Pole?

(It was snowy and very cold)

T:So, the reason of your coming so early is…..

IV.Актуализация знаний .Развитие навыков монологической речи.

Цель: активизация изученной ранее лексики и употребление ее в речи.

T:I have divided class into three groups and each group presents some country.

Santa Clause: Well, well, well.  I am listening to you.

T:Children, you may listen to each other  and ask questions.

Group 1.

We represent Great Britain and we shall speak about Christmas celebrations in this country.

T:Ok, that’s good for you.

T: And what about Russia? How is Christmas celebrated  in Russia?

Group 2.

There are many holidays in our country. They are: New Year's Day, Christmas, Women's Day, Victory Day, May Day and others.

I like New Year's Day, it is my favourite holiday. The 1st of January is a winter holiday and now it is the first day of the New Year.

Peter the First changed the Russian calendar in 1699. He made the 31st of December, 1699 the last day of the year. The first of January 1700 became New Year's Day.

The 1st of January is in the middle of winter. The weather is usually fine and there is a lot of snow everywhere. As the 1st of January is a holiday I don't go to school and my parents don't go to work.

We usually have got a very interesting New Year's party at school. We have got it on the 28th or 29th of December.

Our family prepares for this holiday beforehand. My father buys and brings home a beautiful New Year's tree at the end of December. Our family has a tradition to buy it. I like to decorate the New Year's tree with toys, little coloured lights, sweets and a beautiful star on the top.

My mother and grandmother prepare our holiday supper and lay the table. I make a cake.

All the members of our family clean the flat before this nice holiday and then each of us try to dress well. We like to see the New Year in at home with our relatives. They come to see us at 11 o'clock in the evening.

At 12 o'clock we are sitting at the table and we are glad to see the New Year in. We say, "Best wishes for the New Year!"

I hope that next year will be better than the last one.

The New Year's Day is always connected with our new hopes and dreams.

It is a pleasant moment to get presents on the New Year's Eve.

I usually get many nice useful things from my parents and relatives.

My parents put their presents under the New Year's tree.

We don't go to bed till morning, we watch TV, dance, eat tasty things and make jokes.

I enjoy this holiday very much.

Oh? How interesting!         

And how things are going on in North Ossetia?

Group 3.

Pupil1.Greeting in Ossetian and English.

We live high in the mountains in Alagir  gorge. We are from Upper Mizur. We know for sure that our ancestors have never celebrated New Year. There was no such holiday in Ossetia. Am I right,Leo?        

 Pupil 2.

Of course you are right.  Iron adam or Ossetians have never celebrated New Year. We celebrated Christmas on January, 12th or 14th.

Nog Bon or Christmas is connected with  solstice .Knowing it our ancestors prayed ,»Бон куыд даргьдæр кæны, афта адаргьдæр уант на цард,на амонд»

Pupil 3                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

At a dawn each family  made  a fire before the house. People gathered round fires. Young people with a song "Сой, сой” bypassed  fires. When fire burnt down, somebody from seniors  used to say,”Aцы арт куыд басыгд,афта фесафант не знæгтæ.» And very often young people used to dance.(танцует пара)

   Pupil 4                                                                                                           

 Women started to prepare for Nog Bon in advance.  Our ancestors considered, the more plentifully a table would be, the richer  would  be coming year . A place of honor on a table was occupied with Arthuron- a   big cheese  pie  personifying the sun. Only members of the family could eat it.

In the evening of Nog Bon families gathered around the table and the senior man used to pray,”О, стыр Хуцау амæ йе сканæг задтæ!Аз –азы даргьы амонджын куыд уой, мæ бинонтæ .Анæ маст,анæ фыдбылыз, зардарухсай куд царой.Ахам амонд нын рат, йунæг кадджын Хуцау!»

 Pupil 2.

On Nog Bon women baked pies in honor of Сафа, Саразада, Бынаты Хицауа , the patron of granaries and cattle.

Nog Bon was a-cheerful holiday. Merry youth  dressed not to be recognized  with a song bypassed fires.

Soslan:With pleasure.

 "Хазаронтæ, хазаронтæ!

Фацаунц уæм науæг бонта.

Уа  лæг уын саг куыд амара,

ус уын тыр куыд ныййара,

Pupil 3        

At Nog Bon party all members of the family were sitting long. In the morning the first visitor who entered the house should be a man who used to throw a handful of grains of corn or wheat with wishes of happiness to the family.

Pupil 4

 For Nog Bon  women baked башылта and gave them to the visitors  of the house. Here they are.

Santa Clause:I understood everything. Especially the part  about заджчин гудын and басылта.Сфт цу taste them?

V.  Just for fun

Santa Clause:Children,let’s have a rest an sing.

Children: Merry Christmas!

VI. Listening.

Цель: развитие навыка восприятия иноязычной речи на слух.

T:While we were singing the song an-email has come.

Santa Clause; We  have got to a snow storm on the road here.

And the result is the spoilt letter .Can you help me?

T : Sure, Santa. Children, I think 3 minutes will be enough for you.
