Image of Sergiy Radonezhskiy in domestic and artistic historical literature

The aim of our research is comparision of Sergiy Radonezhskiys image in domestic and artistic historical literature for example the composition by B. K. Zaitsev «Reverend S. Radonezhskiy» (artistic literature) and V. O. Kluchevskiy «S. Radonezhskiy» (historical portrait)

2. Research object- the compositions «Reverend S.Radonezhskiy» by B. Zaitsev and «S. Radonezhskiy» by V. Kluchevskiy
3. Problem- what is the difference of S. Radonezhskiys image in artistic and historical literature
4. Hypothesis: artistic and historical literature applies to S. Radonezhskiys image with the aim to show old man~s spiritual and moral feat and compare it with spiritual experience of the reader
5. Practical importance of the work is to be used by schoolchildren to upgrade cultural level, for spiritual and moral development

A lot of historics and artists of the word: Kluchevskiy; Borisov; Kolesova; Kuchkin; Zaitsev; Shmelyov; Krupin and others applied to S.Radonezhskiy’s  image.

While matching compositions it was detected that historical compositions are devoted to spiritual basics shaping of Rassian State and in this case historians focus on the idea of Russia; Connecting its expression with reverend’s namb.

In artistic literature image of reverend Sergiy got the meaning of independent theme; where  the civic duty problem is solved; addressed by the idea of Russia.

 In this work we decided to stop on two compositions: historical portrait by V.K.Kluchevskiy  « S. Radonezhskiy» and story by B.Zaitsev by «Reverend S. Radonezhskiy»

                                              S.Radonezhskiy~s  image in artistic literature

The composition by B.Zaitsev « Reverend  S. Radonezhskiy» was written in 1925 in immigration.

              This life story is one of the most esteemed saint old men in Russia.

Sergiy was very hard- working and modest. Besides, Sergiy  was very kind. Even animals felt it. When S. Radonezhskiy lived in the forest alone, a wild bear came to his hut. In starving winter this animal came to his house and took bread from his hand. And the bear did not pounce on him.

               To create character of the saint, the author tells about miracles, made by saint, about his communication with angels and Holy mother, about skill, to cure sick and raise the dead.  Sergiy becomes saint in life .The saint has got such characteristics as humility, mercy contribution, vision moral beauty, perception of life as public servise.

    Thet`s why Sergiy is supposed to be holy man, the example of moral and  spiritual values .

Y.Kluchevskiy considers the image of S.Radonezhskiy in the historical portrait differently.

   The historical portrait is embodiment of the definite personality in history that is her life and activity ,the  role in the stage scale.

  Charactarising the era of the 14 century, kluchevskie notes , that Russian people felt need in restructuring of Russian soul.
