Indoor Fun

It was the morning and Millie and Billy finished their breakfast. They helped Mummy to wash the dishes.

ˮCan we go out to play now?ˮ they asked

I’m afraid no,ˮ Mummy said. ˮThe weather is awful.ˮ

Millie and Billy looked out of the window It was windy and it was raining.

ˮItʼs very cold outside too,ˮ Mummy said. ˮSo, you’ll stay at home.ˮ

ˮWhat can we do then?ˮ Billy asked.

ˮYou can have indoor fun,ˮ Mummy said. ˮThink of things that will be fun to do indoors and do them.ˮ

So, that is what they did.

They drew some pictures and coloured them. Millie did a picture of an elephant and Billy did one of a bear.

Then they looked all around the house for secret places. They couldn’t find one but what they found was a little toy dinosaur behind a cupboard in the spare room. The toy was dusty, the children washed it and it was as good as new.

After that they made a camp in the living room. They took the dinosaur into the camp.

Later Millie and Billy played ˮscary monstersˮ. Millie put on the monster mask. It was a Halloween mask. And Billy was a ghost.

When it was bath time, Millie and Billy played again. This time they were fishes and they were swimming in the river.

ˮWe really had lots of indoor fun today!ˮ Billy said.

ˮYes, that’s right,ˮ Millie said. ˮNight-night. Sweet dreams.ˮ

ˮSweet dreams,ˮ Billie replied sleepily and soon he and Millie were sleeping, they were dreaming dreams of indoor games.

Task 1. Monologue.
