Реализация применения коммуникативного подхода по формированию и совершенствованию грамматических навыков на примере темы “Passive Voice”

 Предлагаю урок, в котором продемонстрирована попытка реализовать коммуникативный подход на уроке формирования и совершенствования грамматических навыков по теме  “Present Continuous Passive”.  Считаю, что структура урока полностью соответствует урокам формирования и совершенствования грамматических навыков.

Английский язык 9 класс/ под редакцией О.В. Афанасьевой, И.В. Михеевой (Дрофа, 2019 год)

    Тема “Holidays.”

    Цель урока: формирование грамматических навыков говорения.

     Образовательные задачи: расширение филологического кругозора по теме: “Holidays”, развитие интеллектуальных способностей, логического мышления, памяти, формирование навыка самостоятельной работы, совместной работы в парах, группах.

     Воспитательные задачи: формирование нравственно-эстетических качеств,  развитие системы нравственных отношений «ученик – учитель», «учитель – ученик», воспитание умения слушать и анализировать ответ не только учителя, но и своего товарища, воспитание культуры общения, трудолюбия, самостоятельности.

      Развивающие задачи: развитие коммуникативных свойств речи, развитие логического мышления, развитие познавательного интереса, развитие коммуникативных способностей.

      Практические задачи: развитие составляющих коммуникативной компетенции: языковой, речевой, социокультурной, компенсаторной и учебно-познавательной.

  1. Организационный момент

     Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down, please. I’m glad to see you. Let’s start our English lesson.

  1. Речевая зарядка
  • How are you feeling today?
  • How are you?
  • What is the weather like today?
  • Do you like holidays?
  • Where do you prefer to spend your holidays?
  • Have you ever been on carnivals?
  1. Формирование грамматических навыков

     Ex1.      Today we have a great opportunity to go to one of the amazing carnivals in the world. We are going to Notting Hill Carnival in London. Now look at the photos on the blackboard and tell me if you want to be there or not [Приложение 1]. What do you think when this carnival is arranged? Now close your eyes and imagine that you are on Notting Hill Carnival.

     Listen to Helen’s observations of Notting Hill Carnival in London and say what is unusual for the festival.

     Notting Hill Carnival in London is being organized now. The city is being changed. The streets are being decorated, flags are being hung. A lot of funny things are going on. Social and political events are being dramatized. The rich and the royal are being imitated by the poor. Funny dances are being performed by the police!!! It’s incredible!

     Ex2. Listen and repeat if you believe this is being done by Londoners too. (Then listen and check)

  • Bushes are being cut and trees are being planted.
  • The center of the city is being decorated for the parade.
  • The salute is being prepared and a celebration concert is being staged.
  • Citizens are being entertained by a colourful show.
  • Tropical costumes and strange masks are being worn.
  • Men are being dressed up as women.
  • The police are being searched for guns and weapons.
  • Everybody is being amused by the participation of kids.
  • Everybody is being involved in a concert making.
  1. Формирование грамматических навыков чтения.

     Ex3. As for the Russians, they always run into extremes and it also refers to celebrations. Usually any celebration is not only a colourful show but also a great mess.

    These schemes show how the City Day is being celebrated in one Russian city. Look at the graphs, read them and correlate the numbers with actions [Приложение 2].

  1. Is being entertained by a colourful show.
  2. Is being awarded with valuable prizes.
  3. Is being amused by the participation of kids.
  4. Is being encouraged with the attention of the mayor.
  5. Is being involved in making a concert.
  6. Is being arrested because of improper behavior.
  7. Is being injured by the crowd.

  1. Budget is being spread out during the celebration.
  2. Streets, parks and squares are being visited.
  3. The large area is being polluted by empty bottles and plastic glasses.
  4. Celebrities are being guarded while giving an interview.
  5. Summer cafes are being opened during the celebration.
  6. Benches are being destroyed in the parks.
  7. Hits are being sung during the performance.

  1. Развитие грамматических навыков говорения (диалогическая речь).

     Ex4. During holidays, cafes and restaurants are a famous place to visit. Usually they are overcrowded with people and work till midnight. Waiters are not always able to cope with their work and as a result clients are not satisfied.

     Complete the dialogue with the help of the word box to get to know what is happening in one of the restaurants. Act it out [Приложение 3].

  • Are you being served madam?
  • Not yet.
  • What would you like?
  • A vegetable salad, a plate of potato, one beefsteak, an ice-cream.

     Half an hour later.

  • Hey, boy. Where is my order? Why…
  • Sorry madam. The salad …, the potatoes … the beefsteak…
  • And what about my ice-cream?
  • It ….
  • O.K. Bring me a glass of water.
  • I beg your pardon, but water … at present.
  • O.K. I’ll wait two minutes more. It is the time the cigarette…. By the way, bring a pack of cigarettes.

     Two minutes later.

  • Here is your pack and a bill, madam.
  • What? … as long as everything … here?
  • No, the bill is the only thing that … at once.

     Word box: am I not being served? Is being paid, is being prepared, is being smoked, is being cooked, is being frozen, is being tried, is being prepared.

     Ex5. Do you believe that all restaurants are the same? Imagine that you are sitting in a restaurant, having a delicious meal.

     Advertise the restaurant by informing how you are being served. Make up a dialogue using the grammar structures from the previous exercise.

     Ex6. Every holiday is characterized by certain traditions and customs, that are passed to future generations. Imagine that it is: 1) Christmas; 2) Easter; 3) Wedding Party; 4) Birthday party; 5) Halloween; 6) April Fools’ Day. What traditions are being followed by you? What preparations are being made?

     Inform your classmates using the following model [Приложение 4]:

Today is Christmas, that’s why the New Year tree is being decorated.

Traditions: 1) The New Year tree is decorated; 2) jokes are played; 3) homes are visited for treatment; 4) guests are invited; 5) a veil is put on; 6) Santa Claus is invited; 7) rings are bought; 8) candles are blown out; 9) pumpkin lights are cut out; 10) people are fooled; 11) costumes are served; 12) cars are decorated; 13) whishes are fulfilled; 14) horror stories are learned; 15) anecdotes are told; 16) faces are coloured; 17) cakes are baked; 18) eggs are coloured; 19) funny episodes are performed; 20) money is scattered; 21) masks are drawn; 22) gifts are presented.

     Ex7. Imagine one of you have birthday today that is being celebrated at school.

     Approve of the way everything is being organized. Convince that holidays in your town are being celebrated not defter as in other cities.

  1. Подведение итогов. Рефлексия. Домашнее задание.
  2.   Boys and girls, you see the cards on your tables. Look at them and underline the words which express your emotions. Using the cards express your feelings and explain them [Приложение 5].
  3.      Your home task is making up a dialogue: You are travelling with your friend. Your friends want to have a snack and you are strongly against it. Prove that fast food is junky food. To persuade your friend use the Present Continuous Passive.
  4. The lesson is over. Goodbye.
