Цели и задачи урока:

Образовательные: 1) активизировать ранее изученные ЛЕ и

                                    МФ по теме;

                                2) развивать навыки монологического высказывания по              

                                    теме;

                                 3) совершенствовать навыки чтения про себя с полным            

                                      пониманием.

Развивающие:         1) формировать творческий подход к организации учебного

                                     материала;

                                  2) развивать мотивацию к дальнейшему овладению

                                     английским языком;

                                  3) развивать у учащихся навыки работы с компьютером.

Оснащение урока: интерактивная доска, компьютеры, документальный фильм об экологии.

                                                      План урока:

1. Организационный момент.

Приветствие.

Сообщение целей и задач урока.

Good afternoon, children. I’m glad to see you. How are you today?

 Введение в тему проводится путем следующего задания: Listen to the definition and say what it is.  По мере выполнения задания, на экран выводятся  картинки. Один из учеников, после ответа детей выводит изображение на экран. Can you help me? Take the sit at the computer and show the picture:

1. The weather of a certain place for a long period of time (climate).
2. Plants cant live without water and …(sunlight).                        
3. Something that is used to kill or hurt people in a fight or a war (weapon).                                      
4. A place where rubbish is left (dump).
5. Animals that feed their young with milk (mammals).
6. They generally have six or eight legs (insects).
7. A place where a certain animal or plant is usually found (habitat).

 Look at the screen. Can you tell me what is the theme of our lesson? The picture at the screen can help you. (Man and Natural World)    

           You are right. Today we are going  to discuss the environmental problems.

2. Речевая разминка.

            I’d like to invite you to the TV talk show “Save Our Planet”. You all are experts. At the end of the lesson we’ll see which of you will be the best expert.

Ознакомление с афоризмом.

            I’d like you to learn a new proverb. Вывешиваю афоризм на доску. Read and translate it, please. (Better to give than to take. – Давать лучше, чем брать). During our lesson we’ll discuss it.

3. Повторение изученной лексики.

У каждого ученика на парте находится таблица, представленная ниже. Look through the table. One of you must choose the best way to define these words and read it.

Во время работы один из учеников, используя компьютер, решает кроссворд по теме. Данное задание используется для развития навыков письменной речи.

Look at the screen. There are nine words on the topic “Man and Natural World”. One of you will do the crossword. There are nine words on our topic. Let's check up. Читают и проверяют слова из кроссворда.

Keys: environment, pollution, waste, destruction, dump, ozone, cause, safe, nuclear.

4. Подготовка к обсуждению темы  The Environmental Problems.

Look at the screen, please. The next task for the experts is to read the statements, think a little and say if they are true or false.

1. The population on the Earth is over 6,ooo million now.
2. The population of the world is growing slowly.
3. Every day we throw away millions of  tones of rubbish.
4. Plastic, metals and chemicals will not disappear for hundreds of years.
5. Many natural resources like coal, gas, oil and others are renewable.
6. Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water.
7. In the USA, people use 380 litres of water a day. In deserts, people vuse 5 litres a day.

Keys: true – 1, 3, 4, 6, 7; false – 2, 5.

5. Развитие навыков чтения про себя с полным  пониманием. 

Каждый ученик получает учебный текст с пропусками. Необходимо вставить пропущенные слова и составить вопросы, используя слова, данные ниже. Озвучить результаты работы.

Read the text to yourself. Complete the sentences. Put in the words from the box. There are some words after the text. Using them ask questions and answer them.

OUR  FRAGILE  PLANET

        People have got a lot of ecological and environmental problems. They are the most important problems these days.

        The world climate is changing. The earth became warmer. It is so because of the greenhouse                . Sunlight gives us heat. Some of the heat warms the atmosphere, and some of the heat goes back into space. Nowadays the air around the earth becomes much warmer because the heat can’t go back into space. That’s why winter and summer temperatures in many places have become higher. These changes can be                       for our fragile planet.

         A lot of species of animals and plants are endangered. They may                       because men kill animals and destroy their                . Some of the plants and animals are ________. Every day we use paper and cardboard, furniture. They are made of wood. People cut down forests. Trees produce oxygen. We breathe in oxygen. Also plants help to cure many illnesses (cancer, AIDS).

         Oceans, seas and rivers are used as a______. People dump tons of industrial waste.

         Nuclear power stations can go wrong and cause nuclear pollution. Nuclear pollution cannot be seen but its effects can be terrible.

         Our fragile planet needs____________. Modern man ruins the world step by step. People all over the world think and speak about ecology. Man should solve ecological problems as soon as possible.

         How can you personally save our fragile planet? We must plant trees, save gas, water, electricity and natural resources. Don’t pollute rivers, lakes seas and oceans. BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO TAKE.

Read the sentences with the words from the box. Read the questions, answer them.      

 Let’s discuss the proverb. What does the man take from the nature? (He takes natural resources: wood, water, etc. He destroys the habitats of animals and plants. But our planet is fragile. So if we want to safe it, we must protect nature. We mustn’t take but give. We must feed the birds in winter, plant more trees, save gas, energy, water and natural resources. We mustn’t pollute rivers, lakes and seas).

VII.     Развитие навыков и умений монологической речи. 

       1)   Озвучивание роликов.

You’ll sound three parts of the film about ecological problems. Let’s divide into three groups. You may use the words in the cards.

2.  Представление и защита собственных проектов.

We  have some projects on different ecological subjects.

 Представление и защита собственных проектов проводятся в форме презентаций.        

 Проектная работа является результатом совместной групповой работы учащихся.

7. Подведение итогов урока. Выставление оценок.      

        What have we done? (We have discussed the proverb. We have read the text, have answered the questions, we have sounded the extracts of the film, we have done the crossword, we have discussed environmental problems.)
