Грамматический брейн-ринг

Цели:

1. Активизация знакомой лексики и грамматики в речи.

2. Развитие навыков аудирования.

3. Совершенствование навыков диалогической речи.

Оборудование: эмблемы команд; костюмы и аксессуары для участников сценок; музыкальное оформление; карточки с лексико-грамматическими тестами; текст  для аудирования; карточки со словами для 4-го раунда; плакаты для болельщиков.

Подготовка к мероприятию

Учитель заранее выбирает ведущего или ведёт мероприятие сам. Необходимо также выбрать членов жюри: это могут быть сами учащиеся или учителя. Для участия в игре нужны 4 команды по 5-6 человек. Участники придумывают название команд, эмблемы и продумывают ответ на вопрос «How are you going to win?».

Участники игры выбирают болельщиков и готовят плакаты с лозунгами. От их активности зависит, смогут ли команды получить дополнительные баллы. Болельщики могут помогать соответствующим командам. В конце мероприятия жюри добавляет баллы тем командам, чьи болельщики были наиболее активными.

В перерыве между раундами учащиеся из зрителей показывают небольшие юмористические сценки. Предлагаемые диалоги:

Husband (angrily). What? The supper is not ready? That’s the limit! I’m going to a restaurant.

Wife. Wait just five minutes.

Husband. Will it be ready then?

Wife. No, but then I’ll go with you.

The young wife was in tears when she opened the door for her husband. “I’ve  been insulted”, she sobbed. “Your mother insulted me.”

“My mother!” he exclaimed. “But she is a hundred miles away.”

“I know, but a letter came for you this morning and I opened it.”

He looked stern, “I see, but where does the insult come in?”

“In the postscript,” she answered. “It said: ‘Dear Alice, don’t forget to give this letter to George’.”

Customer. Is there any soup on the bill of fare?

Waiter. No, sir, there was, but I wiped it off.

Mother. Tommy, the canary has disappeared.

Tommy. That’s fanny. It was there just now when I tried to clean it with the vacuum cleaner.

“Jessie, I have told  you again and again not to speak when older persons are talking but wait until they stop.”

“I’ve tried that already, mamma. They never do stop.”

“Oh, mother, a truck went by as big as a house!”

“Bobbie, why do you exaggerate so terribly? I’ve told you twenty million times about that habit of yours, and it doesn’t do a bit of good!”

Mother. I sent my little boy for two pounds of plums and you sent a pound and a half.

Grocer. My scales are all right, madam. Have you weighed your little boy?

Doctor (ecstatically). Sir, yours is a case which will enrich medical science!

Patient. Oh, dear, and I thought I wouldn’t have to pay more than five or ten dollars!

Host/ hostess (H.). Good evening, dear participants, judges and guests. Today we meet at the game “Brain-ring”. (Music) We have four teams. The members of the teams will do some tasks, which are divided into 4 rounds. So, let us start. (Music).

Present your teams and answer the main question: ”How are you going to win?”

Жюри оценивает это задание по пятибалльной системе. Команды, наиболее убедительно ответившие на вопрос, получают наибольшее количество баллов.

H. Round 1. You get the cards with tests. You must choose the correct variant and circle it. You have only 2 minutes.

  9. It was so (dangerously/dangerous) to climb the mountains.
  10. The stories (will be/were) published next month.

Во время паузы, когда учащиеся показывают сценки, жюри проверяет работы. За первое задание максимальный балл – 10.

H. Round 2. (Music) Listen to the text and find ten differences in the given text on your tables.

Предлагаемый текст:

Good morning. Today is Shrove, Tuesday, so I’m going to talk about… yes, pancakes. This is my recipe. It’s very easy and very good.

You’ll need 150 grams flour,

an egg,

300 ml of milk,

2 tablespoons of oil,

some oil for frying pancakes,

some sugar and two lemons.

That’s all. Now to make the pancakes…

Mix the flour and the egg with a fork. Mix in the milk and the oil slowly. Put some oil in the pan. Heat the pan. It must be very hot. Pour in two tablespoons of mixture. Cook the meal for about 45 seconds. Toss the pancake once. Cook for another 45 seconds. Serve it with some sugar and lots of lemon juice. That’s it. Have a nice Tuesday and enjoy your pancakes!

Pancake recipe,

200 ml milk with 75 ml water,

2 tablespoons melted butter or oil,

a little oil for frying the pancakes,

some sugar and lemon.

Mix the flour and the eggs with a fork. Slowly mix in the milk and water. Put a little oil in the pan. Heat the pan (very hot). Pour in one and a half tablespoons of mixture. Cook for about 30 seconds. Toss the pancake once. Cook for another 30 seconds. Serve with a little sugar and lemon juice.

(Toss= throw it up so that it turns over).

За второе задание участники получают максимально 10 баллов.

H. (Music) Round 3. You will get a long word. Your task is to make up as many short words of the given one as you can. They may be different parts of speech. You have 3 minutes.

Ключевое слово: sweetheart.

Команды получают баллы по количеству правильно составленных слов.

H. (Music) Round 4. Use the given words and make up a short story. Tell it one by one.

Варианты слов:

Card 1: Shrek, a donkey, a swamp.

Card 2: Once upon a time, a teddy-bear, Christopher Robin.

Card 3: Lion King, pride, friendship.

Card 4: Goldilocks, a bear, a forest.

Данный курс оценивается по пятибалльной системе.
