 Ideas for short revision activities you could do at the start or end of a class, or give to students to do themselves.

1 Match five sports with five adjectives. Now write sentences that link the sports and the adjectives together, e.g.

Boxing is really horrible because people hurt each other.

Football is just brilliant because the players are so fast.

2 Look at the phrases for Chatting about the weekend. Use them to help you make a conversation between you and a friend. Write the conversation down and say it aloud to try to remember it.

3 Choose six adjectives you think are difficult. Try to match them with a noun that has the same first letter sound. Make links that might be true for you, e.g.

Boring breakfast

Wild weekends

Tiring Tuesday

4 Write down five phrases that you think will be useful for your writing. Write them down over and over again until you remember them.

5 Write a letter to a member of your family using phrases from Writing an informal letter.

• Say hello and ask if they are well.

• Tell them about what you did last weekend.

• Ask them what they are going to do this weekend.

• Finish the letter in a friendly way.
