по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»

Цели и задачи урока: 

учебный аспект – обучение аудированию с различной стратегией (выделение необходимой информации, развитие устной речи по теме);

развивающий аспект – развитие способностей к сравнению и сопоставлению, к формулированию выводов;

социокультурный аспект – знакомство с достопримечательностями Лондона;

воспитательный аспект – развитие ценностных ориентаций на примере бережного отношения к памятникам архитектуры.

Лексический материал:

popular, Crown Jewels, sight, London Tower, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye.

Грамматический материал:

степени сравнения прилагательных

Ход урока.

I. Организационная часть урока:

Teacher (T): Good morning! Nice to see you. Let’s get down to work. Today we’ll talk about London. What do you know about London?

II. Актуализация знаний:

T: Let’s read the words which can help you today.

(popular, Crown Jewels, sight, London Tower, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, St.Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye.)

Работа по учебнику.

 Ex. 1a – соотнести названия достопримечательностей с описанием.

III. Учебно-тренировочная част урока.

1) Ex. 1. b  – чтение текстов  - извлечение информации  

Buckingham Palace is the most famous place in London. It is the home of the Queen. There are 600 rooms in it. It has an indoor swimming pool and a cinema.

Trafalgar Square is the most popular place for people to meet. In the middle of the square there is Nelson's Column, which is 51 m high.

The London Eye - 135 m.  The highest point of the wheel.  This is the biggest wheel in

Britain. It was opened on 1 February 2000 in London. There's a wonderful view from it.

Let's climb into the sky. Up, up and away!

Here is the river Thames. It runs below the wheel. It is the deepest and most beautiful river in Britain.

Tower Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in London. It is over a hundred years old.

Hyde Park is the most famous park in London. It's a pleasure to watch Londoners walk and jog in the park, eat their sandwiches, talk, sunbathe, read books and enjoy music. There are no signs like "Do not walk on the grass".

The Tower of London is a very big castle. It is the oldest place in London. It was a castle, a palace, a zoo, a prison and a museum. The most famous things in the Tower of London are the Crown Jewels. They have the biggest diamond in the world — the "Star of Africa".

3) Систематизация грамматического материала - превосходная степень односложных и многосложных прилагательных.  Анализ правила.

4) Ex. 2a – найти фразам соответствия из текстов.

Tour guide:

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Round London Sightseeing Tour.

In front you is Buckingham Palace. It’s one of the most famous places in London. It is the home of the Queen. Now we’re turning into Trafalgar Square. Part of  Trafalgar Square is for pedestrians only, so it’s the most popular place to meet, outside the National Gallery.

In the middle of the square is Nelson’s Column, which is 51 metres high with four huge lions round the bottom of  it.

We’re going straight ahead down Whitehall now. On the right you can see No 10 Downing Street where the Prime Minister lives.

There are the Houses of Parliament. You can see the famous clock tower. It’s not called Big Ben. Big Ben is actually the name of the biggest bell in the tower.

Now we’re going over Tower Bridge. It opens when ships go through. It is often used as a symbol to represent London. Now we are in the ancient city of London. On the left is the Tower of  London. It’s a castle next to the River Thames. It’s one of the oldest buildings in London. The king and queens of England lived there almost a thousand years ago. It was a castle, a palace, a zoo and a prison. It is now a museum. The most famous things in the Tower of London are the Crown Jewels.

On your right now is St Paul’s Cathedral. This was built because the old cathedral burnt down in the Great Fire of London in 1666 by Sir Christopher Wren.

Now we are back in front of  Buckingham Palace where we started our tour. Goodbye, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for taking the Round London Sightseeing Tour.
