Цель урока: систематизация и обобщение знаний, умений и навыков обучающихся по теме «English – a language of the world».

Задачи:

Обучающие:

• совершенствование лексических навыков по теме;
• использование лексико-грамматических навыков  в ситуациях, приближенных к условиям общения;
• реализация умения вести дискуссию  на уроке, выражать собственное мнение, комментировать утверждение;

Развивающие

• развитие иноязычной языковой компетенции (способность учащихся использовать           полученную         информацию в различных ситуациях);
• развитие основных психических процессов, связанных с речевой деятельностью (речевого мышления, внимания, воображения), способность к общению; 
• развитие мотивации к дальнейшему овладению иноязычной культурой;
• развитие творческих способностей детей;
• развитие коммуникативных навыков, а именно диалогической речи.

Воспитательные

• воспитывать уважение к собеседнику;
• способствовать созданию условий для эффективной коммуникации,
• способствовать развитию интереса к изучению ия
• учить толерантности

Вид урока: обобщающий урок с элементами дискуссии

Тип урока: обобщение и систематизация полученных знаний и умений

Формы работы: коллективная, групповая, парная, индивидуальная.

Оборудование: наглядность, раздаточный материал, проектор, экран, мультимедийная презентация, колонки, компьютер.

Ход урока:

Приветствие.

Teacher: Good afternoon, boys, girls and our dear guests. I’m glad to see u. Take your sits please. How are you tоday?

- I’m good. Thanks! Please be active and try to do your best today!                                

2. Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности.

Look at the blackboard. There is a Chinese proverb. Read it aloud. Do you agree or disagree with it? Express your opinion and prove it.

Well done. So, try and guess. What are we going to speak about?

Right you are! Today we are going to speak about the importance of learning English. English is a language of the world – is the topic of our lesson.

Where do you outside classes use English language? How do you plan to use English in future?

3. Актуализация знаний.                                                Слайд № 4-10

Well done. So, as far as we know, one the most commonly used way of learning English is school classes. What aspects of language do we deal with?  

Учащиеся: grammar, vocabulary, phrasal verbs, intonation, pronunciation, idioms

Your home task was to make up dialogues ‘are you happy with the way you are taught English?” with one of the language aspect.  But before that, let’s review some vocabulary. By the way what is a difference between vocabulary and dictionary?

Учащийся: a dictionary is a book that gives words in alphabetical order, vocabulary – is a list of words in a lesson

Repeat after me: pronunciation, intonation, isolation, a drill, a mother tongue, an idiom, practice – to practice, up-to-date, old-fashioned, foundation, memorize.

Beautiful! So, I’ll give you some time review. (пока учащиеся готовят диалоги, учитель ходит по рядам, слушает, исправляет ошибки).

5. Обобщение и систематизация знаний. Просмотр и обсуждение видео.

That was brilliant! Now we will watch a video to find out Why learning English is important. Please, be very attentive and listen to the video as carefully as you can. After watching it you will need to say if the statements are true, false or not stated. Each of you have cards with the statements at the desks. Like always, if there is no mistake in the sentence we say that the statement is true. If there is a mistake we say that the statement is false and be ready to correct it and if there is no information in the text we say that it is not stated.

6. Применение знаний и умений в новой ситуации (5 мин)        Слайд № 14

Дискуссия, выражение собственного мнения.

Look at the board. There are 2 statements:

1. Nowadays each successful person should speak English.
2. Nowadays to be successful it isn’t necessary to speak English.  

So, we are going to discuss whether English is the most important language in the world. Some of you should agree with the first statement, some with the second. Think over for a while.

Учащиеся:

- From my point of view, I completely agree with the 1st statement, as I believe if you want to get higher education at the best universities of the world and  later a better job, you should learn English

- I’m afraid you are wrong, if you want to get a better job it isn’t always necessary to know English. Many successful people today doesn’t speak English at all.

- Frankly speaking, I also think that there are many other languages in the world, for example Chinese. Spoken by 1.3 billion people on the earth today, it is the most commonly spoken language of the world.

- Sorry to interrupt you, but  we shouldn’t forget that English is the official language of business, commerce, aviation, medical and  science research and many other fields.

- As for me, I also share 1st opinion, Because if you like travelling, the only thing you need to know is English. If you can speak English you can communicate with people from all over the world.

- I’m not sure of it, because in many countries most of population doesn’t speak English and even doesn’t want to learn it.

- I heard, In some countries, e.g. France, people prefer speaking other languages, rather than  English, even though they know it.

- As for me, I have nothing against learning English, but we shouldn’t forget about your own native language, otherwise we can lose it.

- But I think that your success depends on the knowledge, as English is a language of the world.

Учитель: So, in conclusion I would like to say that even if it is not the most commonly spoken language today, it is recognized in many spheres of our life. English has taken the position of the globe language.

7. Информация о домашнем задании. Инструктаж по его выполнению

That was really interesting. Your home task for Monday will be to  write an opinion essay, proving your point of view. It  should be 80 – 100 words.
