При использовании приемов с сигнальными картами «I’m agree”, “I’m not agree” к ответу включаются все учащиеся: сильные и слабые.
С целью формирования навыков аудирования предлагается задание на повторение лексики. Учащиеся справились и с данным видом работы. Элемент содержания стандарта – школьное образование. Тема близкая к учащимся. Через мотивацию ко всем видам деятельности на уроке реализуются воспитательные цели урока: вид урока – путешествие погружает в атмосферу нахождения учащихся со сверстниками в Великобритании.

Ход урока
- Организационный момент
Good morning boys and girls. I’m glad to see you today.
Who is absent?
Let’s begin our lesson.
- Речевая зарядка и постановка целей урока.
Look at the picture and tell me what we are going to talk about today.
(на слайде – флаг Великобритании)
(примерные ответы учеников: about Great Britain because it is the flag of Great Britain)
We are going not only to talk about Great Britain but also to go on a trip to this country. By the way what would you do if you went to Great Britain?
(ученики отвечают, используя конструкцию “subjunctive mood”)
All your plans are rather interesting, but I would advise you to take an excellent opportunity and to study there. So the topic of our lesson is “Let’s study in England”
(на слайде – тема урока).
How do you think what abilities should you have in order to study abroad?
(ученики предлагают свои версии)
You are right. All these abilities are necessary. So look at the screen and see what skills we are going to check on our imaginary trip
(на слайде – надписи We must know English words and grammar
We must be able to read and write in English
We must be able to listen and to understand English speech
We must be able to speak English)
- Фонетическая зарядка (проверка домашнего задания)
Before we begin our trip to England let’s check who can pronounce English words correctly. At home you have prepared dramatic reading of a poem. If you are able to read it without any mistakes it means that you know English well.
(ученики выразительно читают стихотворение по частям друг за другом (приложение 1)
Thank you for your reading. And welcome to England.
- Актуализация знаний по теме «Образование в Великобритании»
(на слайде – картинка с разными школами:nursery schools. infant schools, junior school, Secondary school, public school, grammar school)
a)guess
Imagine that you are in England. And you don’t know where to go. I’ll hand out the roles and you will tell me what school you will attend according to your roles.
(учащиеся представляются в соответствии со своими ролями и дают ответы (приложение 2))
Choose your type of school according to your role:
(Nursery schools , infant schools, junior schools, secondary schools, grammar schools, public schools)
- You are a boy of 3 years old - Nursery schools
- You are a girl of 6 years old - infant schools
- -you are a boy of 9 years old - junior schools
- You are a pupil of 12 years old - secondary schools,
- You are a pupil of the 19th century with good results in eleven-plus exams - grammar schools
You are a pupil from the rich, famous and respected family - public schools)
- Аудирование.
Now imagine that at least you have found your school and you are standing in a corridor of a school. Pupils around you are discussing their teachers. Your task will be to listen to them and then to describe each teacher using only one of these words ( на слайде – список прилагательных encouraging sympathetic generous jealous respectful strict funny и список учителей; учащиеся слушают запись и делают заметки в своих листах (приложение 3))
Reference material 3
Choose the description for each teacher (encouraging understanding sympathetic rude generous jealous respectful advanced strict funny )
Mr Taylor - strict
Miss Granger - encouraging
Mr Potter- understanding
Mrs Walker- sympathetic
Mr Barker- respectful
- Are you agree with …?
- Развитие навыков диалогической речи
Here is some information about your school activities. Your task will be to work in pairs and to discuss it. One of you will ask the questions. The other will answer.
(ученики составляют диалоги на основе ситуации, предлагаемой в раздаточном материале (приложение 4))
- Тест.
At the end of our lesson don’t forget about a short test because there are a lot of tests in English schools as well as in Russian ones.
(Учащиеся выполняют тест (приложение 5))
Complete the test
- I made a few mistakes in the exam and I don’t know if I passed/took it.
- Do you know that our French teacher can speak/talk four languages?
- My home task is to study/learn the poem by heart
- Our teacher cut her hair and I did not recognize/know her at first
- It’s difficult to count/measure how intelligent someone is
- My elder brother left/graduated from the institute last year
- You have one minute to learn/revise the words before the test
- You’ve done/made many mistakes.
- The bell is ringing. Let’s have a rest/break.
- My congratulations. You have made /done progress in your pronunciation.
Keys: 1. Passed 2. Speak 3. Learn 4. Recognize 5. Measure 6. Graduated 7. Revise 8. Made 9. Break 1. Made
- Итог урока.
Now let’s make a conclusion whether it is easy or difficult to study in England. Let’s sum up what abilities you must have in order to study abroad.
- Рефлексия.
Let’s estimate your abilities. Raise 5 fingers if you have done excellent work, 4 fingers – good work, 3 fingers – satisfactory work, 1 or 2 – poor work
- Домашнее задание.
At last imagine that it is your first Evening in England. You have some free time and you want to write a letter to your parents and to tell them about your first impressions. As we have no time to do it now it will be your home-task.
(домашнее задание – написать письмо на предложенную тему (приложение 6))

Dearest creature in creation,
Study English pronunciation.
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
I will keep you, Suzy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy.
Tear in eye, your dress will tear.
So shall I! Oh hear my prayer.
Just compare heart, beard, and heard,
Dies and diet, lord and word,
Sword and sward, retain and Britain.
(Mind the latter, how it's written.)
Now I surely will not plague you
With such words as plaque and ague.
But be careful how you speak:
Say break and steak, but bleak and streak;
Cloven, oven, how and low,
Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe.
Hear me say, devoid of trickery,
Daughter, laughter, and Terpsichore,
Billet does not rhyme with ballet,
Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet.
Blood and flood are not like food,
Nor is mould like should and would.
Viscous, viscount, load and broad,
Toward, to forward, to reward.
And your pronunciation's OK
When you correctly say croquet,
Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve,
Friend and fiend, alive and live.
Ivy, privy, famous; clamour
And enamour rhyme with hammer.
Souls but foul, haunt but aunt,
Font, front, wont, want, grand and grant,
Shoes, goes, does. Now first say finger,
And then singer, ginger, linger,
Scenic, Arabic, Pacific,
Science, conscience, scientific.
Liberty, library, heave and heaven,
Rachel, ache, moustache, eleven.
We say hallowed, but allowed,
People, leopard, tower, but vowed.
Mark the differences, moreover,
Between mover, cover, clover;
Seven is right, but so is even,
Hyphen, roughen, nephew Stephen,
Monkey, donkey, Turk and jerk,
Ask, grasp, wasp, and cork and work.
Finally, which rhymes with enough,
Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough?
Hiccough has the sound of cup
My advice to give it up
