Цели урока:

Практические:

• систематизация знаний учащихся по теме «Help the Earth»
• развитие речевых умений

Образовательные: 

• совершенствование лексических навыков говорения 

(активизация в речи лексических единиц и расширение словарного запаса по теме «Help the Earth»)

• совершенствование грамматических навыков говорения 

     (употребление модальных глаголов и настоящего совершенного времени)

• развитие монологической и диалогической  речи  по теме «Help the Earth» 
• совершенствование навыков аудирования

Развивающие:

• развитие способности к обобщению, анализу, логичности 
• развитие памяти, воображения, эмоциональности

1. Начало урока. Приветствие. Фонетическая зарядка.  (3 минуты)
2. Разминка. Речевая зарядка. (3 минуты)

     3.   Конференция "Ecology" (13 минут)

4. Беседа об исчезающих животных, проблемный вопрос (5 минут)
5. Аудирование. Составление вопросов. Работа в парах (8 минут)
6. Составление лозунгов по охране окружающей среды (6 минут)
7. Игра "Поле чудес" (4 минуты).

     8.   Рефлексия. Определение целей урока и названия темы учащимися. (3 минуты)

                                                              ХОД УРОКА

1.Начало урока.

Dear friends! I’m very glad to see you! Are you OK? Are you in a good mood? What a lovely day is it today! The sun is shining. The sky is blue. It’s warm. The life is wonderful! Look at the pictures on the board, listen to the nice song, sing together and try to relax a bit. It’s great!

Вступительное слово учителя. Dear friends, today we shall discuss a lot of important problems connected with our topic and exchange your opinions about everything. You know how dangerous the ecological situation of our Earth is. Today we shall go to the conference where you will try to solve together some problems. But before it, let's do some exercises in order to practice some things.

II. Выполнение упражнений.

Teacher. Look at the board. Here you can see four columns. Please, make up the sentences. Do it in an oral form.

Agree or disagree with these statements (modal verbs).

1. We want our planet to be clean.

2. You can see dirty rivers and seas.

3. People mustn’t care about the Earth.

4. Kids must leave cans in the park.

5. We have to care about rivers and forests.

6. We should drink dirty water.

7. We can do a lot to protect our nature.

Teacher. That's nice. And now let's go to the conference. But first of all, I want to introduce you our guest from Great Britain who has come to our conference. She will take part in our discussion because this global problem is actual in Great Britain too.

III. Конференция "Ecology".

Teacher. Let me open our conference and the first item of our discussion will be "Ecological situation in the world". Who will start? Please.

Student 1. For a long time people pay little attention to the environment. Today the situation is quite different. People all over the world worry about the environment. Newspapers and magazines write about water pollution, air pollution and soil pollution.

Student 2. The word "ecology" came from the Greek, which means “home”. Our "home" is our planet.  We must protect our planet from littering, air pollution, water pollution and destruction of natural resources.

Student 3. I’d like to add. Every year the world industry pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of dust. Many cities suffer from smog.

Guest. Sorry to interrupt you but I have a question. Tell me, please, about the ecological situation in your region.

Teacher. What can you say about our Samara region? (It's the 2d item of the discussion).

Student 1. Our people suffer from smog.

Student 2. Every year factories of our region pollute the atmosphere with tons of harmful things. These are very dangerous wastes.

Student 3. 60% (percent) of air pollution is caused by different means of transport: cars, buses, minibuses. There are a lot of chemical plants in our city.

Guest. Thanks a lot. I see that the situation is serious.

Student 4. May I ask you a question?

Guest. Yes, please.

Student 4. What can you say about the environmental problems in your country?

Guest. We have the same problems. Our factories put their waste materials into water and atmosphere and pollute the environment. There are many kinds of transport in our big cities, that's why we must pay attention to the protection of our nature and the health of the people.

Student 4. Yes, you are right. I want to say some words about radiation. Now it has become one of the main problems. It is not good for people’s health. Many people died from radiation in Chernobyl. It was a tragedy.

Teacher. Thank you, dear participants. The third item of our discussion is "Helping wild animals". What can you say about this problem?

Student 1. I think it is necessary to help wild animals. Many of them are in danger now. For example, pandas and white bears. All woods are home to animals and birds. It is important to take care of them.

IV. Беседа об исчезающих животных

На доске висят картинки  с изображениями исчезающих животных и карта мира.

Teacher. Look at the map and say what animals are in danger all over the world. Name them.

Учащиеся называют исчезающих животных по всему миру, выходят к доске и прикалывают картинки на карту мира, на территорию той страны, где данный вид животных является исчезающим.

Teacher. We can see that there are a lot of animals in danger. That is why we must take care of them.

V. Аудирование (Present Perfect)

Teacher. Let's listen to the text. Work in pairs. Make questions and answers. Start so: What have they done to…?

Student 1.

What have they done to the seas, rivers and trees?

Student 2.

They have polluted the seas and rivers and have cut down the trees.

Student 3.

What have they done to our land and forests? What have they done to the Earth?

Student 4.

They have littered the land and forests with bottles and cans.

Student 5.

What have they done to the skies and to the air?

Student 6.

Our skies and the air are not clean. There is terrible smog in the air from our transport.

Teacher.

You are right. People often forget about nature and Earth.

VII. Меры, которые должны быть приняты по охране окружающей среды.

Teacher. Dear friends, you are so young. You must have a healthy lifestyle. What slogans do you want to make for people in order to protect the ecology and be healthy?

Students.

1. Keep our land, air, water clean.

2. Don’t pollute the forests, rivers and seas with litter.

3. Protect the environment from industrial pollution.

4. All woods are home to animals.

5. Help nature and the Earth. Protect them.

6. The  Earth is our home. Don't pollute it.

7. Have healthy lifestyle.

Teacher. Label these slogans under the pictures on the board.

VIII. Игра "Поле чудес".

Teacher. Look at the blackboard and guess the words

1.   We should protect and take care of it. (N----e)    NATURE

2.   Let's make it a better place. (The W---d)    WORLD

XI. Рефлексия. Определение целей урока и названия темы учащимися. 

Teacher. Our short discussion is over. But I'm sure that you're real friends of our planet. The air we breathe, the soil on which we stand and walk, the water we drink are all part of the environment. It's very important that you should be aware of the most serious environmental problems. You live in different regions of Russia and in other republics.

I think it’s easy now to name our topic. Who calls it? What were the goals of our lesson today? Whose answers were the best?

At home try to find and make short information about your local ecological problems.

All of you were very active and hard working today.
