Урок по теме «Foreign languages in our life »

Цели урока :

Практиковать учащихся во всех видах речевой деятельности по теме  ‘ Foreign languages in our life “

Расширение кругозора учащихся

Развитие личностной активности учащихся

Ход урока

1 Оргмомент:

1 Приветствие .Т. Good morning children!  Let us begin our lesson.

2 Сообщение цели урока Т. Today we are going to speak about the role of foreign languages in our life , we are also going to read a short text and have some tasks in reading , to listen to the dialogue and repeat our grammar material

II Фон.зарядка:

 exist  except  truly  inhabited  

to work thoughtfully  to do business  to give a chance  to check for mistakes  to revise often

 T. Try to use these words and expressions at the lesson.

III Речевая зарядка:

Let us play with our fingers. I am going to read you some sentences. If my sentence is right

show me one finger  if not- two.  Then be ready to agree or disagree with them. Begin your sentence with :  I agree that…  I disagree that…  To my mind you are right ( wrong )

• English appeared 2 thousand years ago
• In the 5 th century English was already spoken by people who inhabited Britain.
• Only 6 mln. people spoke English in the 15 th century.
• Now about 65o mln. people all over the world use it
• English is the richest language in the world

As I have told you at the end of the lesson be ready to tell us about English, but first of all let us draw a spidergramm or a plan of your story

How to Learn a Foreign Language? ( pick the brain- motivation and selfimprovement)

                      P.I-   Spend the time! –how do you understand this sentence ?

( The more time you spend with the language, the faster you will learn. This means listening, reading, writing, speaking, and studying words and phrases.)

                      P 2    Listen and read every day!  –how do you understand this sentence ?

(Listen wherever you are on your MP3 player. Read what you are listening to. Listen to and read things that you like, things that you can mostly understand, or even partly understand.

                      P 3   Focus on words and phrases! –how do you understand this sentence ?

(Build up your vocabulary, you’ll need lots. Start to notice words and how they come together as phrases. Learn these words and phrases through your listening and reading. Read online, using online dictionaries and make your own vocabulary lists for review. )

                       P4     Take responsibility for your own learning! –how do you understand this sentence ?

(If you do not want to learn the language, you won’t. If you do want to learn the language, take control. Choose content of interest, that you want to listen to and read. Do not wait for someone else to show you the language, nor to tell you what to do. Discover the language by yourself)

                       P5      Relax and enjoy yourself! –how do you understand this sentence ?

 ( Do not worry about what you cannot remember, or cannot yet understand, or cannot yet say. It does not matter. You are learning and improving. The language will gradually become clearer in your brain . )

T. So there are different ways to learn languages. Some of them are easy , others are difficult. Now be ready to listen to the dialogue . Then tell us please what the most difficult thing for the girl is

3.Чтение учащимися текста с извлечением необходимой информации.

Т. As you know the English language has become the most important language of the world.

It is the language of sport ,business, science, periodicals and computers. I would like you to read the passage …”Read it attentively and then be ready to answer what the text is about.

                                             “It is the ordinary language, but “

           Britain” s influence on the world has been great. Take for example the influence of the English language around the world. The English language has become the lingua franca of the century. At present English is supposed to be better suited to play the role of a world language than other language on earth. Unlike, for example, German, Russian or Chinese , the simple structure  and grammar of English, along with its tendency to use shorter ,less abstract words  and more concise sentences, are all advantages for the composers of song lyrics, newspaper headlines, ad. slogans, cartoon captions and movie and TV dialogues. English has become the standard language of international communication and mass culture.

       Choose the best answer according to the text.

        The author’s purpose in this passage is to explain…

1. why Britain’s influence on the world has been great
2. why English is well suited to become the standard language of international communication and mass culture
