“Is It Easy to Be Young?”

Цели:

познавательный аспект — сравнение жизни подростков в России и других стран. Знакомство с высказываниями зарубежных сверстников о проблемах молодежи;

развивающий аспект — развитие навыков говорения и аудирования в процессе творческого общения. Развитие способности к увеличению зрительного восприятия, к осуществлению продуктивных действий и способности к сравнению, развитие дедуктивного мышления;

воспитательный аспект — формирование критического отношения к действительности, умения анализировать и давать оценку поступкам и событиям.

“Is It Easy to Be Young?”

Pupil 1: Good afternoon dear friends.

Pupil 2: We are glad to see you at our party.

Pupil 1: We are going to discuss a very interesting and very important topic today. It’s youth problems and human relationships.

Pupil 2: We shall talk, sing recite poems and watch the film… So you are welcome to our talk- show “Is It Easy to Be Young?”

Pupil 1: Youth is the time when a person is trying to find his place in the world.

Pupil 2: The youth of the twenty first century face almost the same problems which were acute to their parents when they were young.

Pupil 1: The young and adults have different points of view. This may concern the way a person looks or dresses. And this courses of the generation gap. In the 19th century Ivan Turgenev in his novel «Fathers and Sons» perfectly illustrated the eternal problem of fathers and children's misunderstanding.

Pupil 2: I think that parents will never understand their children. And children, in their turn, will always shock their parents with their dress, language, behavior. The existence of subculture which is specific for every generation is a form of protest of the young people against the values of the adults.

 Pupil 1: Thus, informal groups such as Hippies, Rockers, Punks, Goths, Bikers, and Skinheads appeared as a kind of protest against the values and lifestyles of the older people.

Pupil 2: Can we see the solution to this problem?

Pupil 1: Certainly, I think that the only way is to be tolerant and patient.

Pupil 2: Nowadays, more and more social problems are associated with being young.

Pupil 1: According to official reports violence, AIDS, drugs and alcohol are more and more associated with youngsters:

Pupil 2:   10 children die from guns every day.

Pupil 1:   It's awful to learn that 31% of teenagers from 15 to 17 drink alcohol regularly.

Pupil 2:   27% of children live in the streets because they are badly treated at home.

Pupil 1:   211 teenagers get arrested for drug addiction.

Pupil 2:   3288 children run away from home every day.

Pupil 1:   It's awful to learn that 27 children die from poverty every day.

Pupil 2:   6 children die committing suicide.

Pupil 1:   I was shocked to know that 135000 children bring a gun to school.

Pupil 2:   It's awful to learn that 1629 children are in jails.

Pupil 1: Do you see any way to help them?

Pupil 2:  Different experts investigate sociable problems and try to help young people. There         are some centers in the country, which help the teenagers to cope with their problems.  

Pupil 1:  And there should be much more information about danger of alcohol provided by         mass media and schools.

Pupil 2:  Well, teachers and parents also can help.  Remember, we’re too young to see only         bad points!

Pupil 1: I absolutely agree with you. And, while some teens see only problems in growing         up, others try to find the ways to cope with them.

Взросление, разве это не отвратительно?

Кажется, что постоянно не везет

Прыщи, прическа не ложится, и в весе набираешь

Куча причин, чтоб себя ненавидеть,

Но послушай, ты же жив, ты единственный и классный,

Зачем постоянно чувствовать себя глупо?

Будь честен с собой, забудь о своих недостатках

И скоро ты станешь веселее.

Живи полной жизнью и раскрась свой город красной краской,

Какая разница, кто что подумает, и кто что сказал?

Не позволяй им победить и заставить тебя чувствовать себя плохо

Потому что такие люди очень грустны,

Наслаждайся своим возрастом и веселись,

Ведь жизнь только началась!

Pupil 1: Another problem that young people face today concerns their relationship with their friends. I believe that real friends will never betray each other. They will always understand and help each other.

Pupil 2: Communication has always been an important part of young people’s lives. Today they can choose between traditional and new ways of communication.

Pupil 1: Traditionally the young meet after classes with their school or university friends at a cafe or a club to get fun, relax and acquire new friends. They go to cinemas, theatres, concert halls or disco clubs.

Pupil 2:  Well, social events such as discos and parties are a very popular conversation topic among teenagers.  

Pupil 1: But if the young people do not like noisy clubs and other places of entertainment, they can find friends without leaving their apartments - the Internet gives such an opportunity.

Pupil 2: And at the same time it’s a great problem of the present and future. Most of them are only interested in their e-mail boxes. The best way for them is to go on chatting with their ICQ partners without meeting them.

Pupil 1: The problem of love is very important for the young. Today the young fall in love when they reach the age of Romeo and Juliet. Romanticism and idealism very often accompany the love of the young. Their belief in eternal love can end dramatically.

Pupil 2: Listen to the poem “Let’s still to be friends.”

Untill those dreaded words

Let's still be friends.

ЛЮБОВЬ прекрасная вещь, хотя и грустная.

ЛЮБОВЬ делает тебя счастливым

И заполняет мысли.

ЛЮБОВЬ придает тебе сил,

Когда другие в унынии.

ЛЮБОВЬ сохраняет улыбку

И не дает хмуриться.

ЛЮБОВЬ согревает тебя

Холодной зимней ночью.

ЛЮБОВЬ заставляет мечтать,

И кажется что все хорошо.

Кажется, что ЛЮБОВЬ навсегда,

Что ЛЮБОВЬ не закончится никогда.

До этих ужасных слов

Давай останемся друзьями.

Pupil 2: All girls and boys want to be attractive. But appearance is not the main think.

Pupil 1: Let’s listen to the song “Every time we touch”

Pupil 1: Well, I think enthusiasm and a good sense of humour are much more important than beauty. Here are some ways suggested to make her or him fall in love with you:                  (Просмотр слайдов )

Юноша:  Write a love song for her and enter the Eurovision Song Contest with it!

Девушка:  Get a babysitting his little sister five nights a week!

Юноша:  It's cool to send a Valentine — even if it's November!

Девушка:  Ask her to help you with your homework.

Юноша:  Say how much you like her and ask if she would like to go out on a date!

Девушка:  Bake him a cake, decorate it with sugar heats and put it near his door!

Юноша:  If it doesn't get that far, simply serenade her under bedroom window!

Девушка:  Get a photo of yourself made up into a jigsaw and send it to him. When he has put all the pieces together, he will find the girl of his dreams!

Юноша:  Go round to her house and tell her that you’re selling kisses for charity and         insist she buys at least ten!

Девушка:  Don't be a wallflower! Offer to teach him a few dance moves!

Pupil 1: In spite of your wonderful age, you are waited by a great deal of difficulties and problems which must be solved.

Pupil 2: Your parents, teachers, try to help you, but you have to solve most of the problems         yourselves.

Pupil 1: We are different, but everybody is wonderful. A famous person Sophocles said many years ago: “Wonders are many and nothing is more wonderful than man”

Pupil 2: We understood that our participants Choose Life!

Pupil 1: We believe in you!

Pupil 2: We believe that in our school wonderful and nice and clever young people.

              Let’s say together: “I Choose Life!”

Pupil 1: Let’s watch this romantic film “Step up!”

        The trouble maker and street hip-hop dancer Tyler Gage lives with his foster parents in a lower class region.

         After being expelled of a party, he with his two friends break in the Maryland School of Arts and commits vandalism, destroying the stage. Tyler is arrested and sentenced to 200 hours of community service in the school.

        Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore’s tracks and the only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams and a pretty girl Nora, who is going to be a professional ballet dancer.

        Can you imagine what is going to happen to the main characters?
