 I would like to present you the information about England.

                England is the largest part of the UK. The capital of city of England is London, the biggest city in England.

                 Such cities as Manchester and Birmingham now rival for the second place in importance.

When somebody says England, what famous things first come to your mind?

                 Of course, these might be London, Big Ben, Stonehenge, William Shakespeare, red double-decker buses, black taxi cabs, red postboxes and telephone boxes, tea, the Beatles, legend of Robin Hood, Wimbledon and, probably, David Beckham.

                  Almost every nation has some kind of a reputation. As wearing a bowler hat and clothes made of tweed or cheviot, smoking a pipe, drinking tea or standing across the open country side with his dog. But this is a picture of aristocratic Englishman in the past and it is not so any longer.

                  English people like reading a lot, especially newspapers, talking about the weather, going to pub, discussing news and drinking beer there. The traditional love of the English for their homes is known all over the world old saying like “flame is a castle” and “there is no place like home” reflect the inner nature of a real English-man.

Many of  famous sports began in England, including cricket, football, lawn tennis and rugby.

                  The red rose is the national symbol or the emblem of England. Every nation has its own Patron saint who in times of Great trouble is called upon to help save the country from its enemies St. George is the Patron Saint of England. St. George’s Day’s celebrated on April 23rd and his flag St.George’s Cross , which is the national flag of England is flown all over England.

                                                Northern Ireland.

My report is about Northern Ireland.

                Northern Ireland is the smallest part of the UK.

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland. It is a great industrial centre and a large port.

The largest cities in Northern Ireland are Londonderry, Lisburn.

                For seven centuries Ireland was a colony of Britain. Historically the hatred between colonized people of Ireland and their colonizers was underlined by the difference in their religious. Northern  Ireland is known for it long-lasting political conflict between Catholics and Protestants.

               The Irish flag dates from the 1800’s. The colors  have a symbolic meaning. Green represents the Roman Catholics of Ireland, orange the Protestants of Ulster and white represents peace. The shamrock is the national symbol of Northern Ireland.

                The shamrock is said to be connected to St. Patrick, Ireland’s Patron Saint. Irish people wear this symbol on the National Day on March 17th. This celebration is called St. Patrick’s Day. The flag of Northern Ireland is St. Patrick’s Cross.
