 Урок в 6-м классе по теме " London’s sightseeing”.

(УМК Биболетовой М.З. "Enjoy English 5-6»).

Целя: развитие языковой компетенции учащихся через обобщение знаний по теме “Лондон и его достопримечательности”.

Задачи:

- формировать умение находить нужную информацию при работе с текстом и выполнении заданий к нему;

-закрепить лексику пройденного материала;

- закрепить разговорные навыки на базе игры “Agree or Disagree”;

- повторить грамматический материал;

- формировать способности к продуктивным речевым действиям, повышать мотивацию говорения на базе страноведческой тематики;

- развивать  речевые умения в диалогической и монологической речи на основе творческого использования усвоенного ранее материала в новых ситуациях;

- совершенствовать произношение;

- воспитывать культуру поведения при фронтальной, парной, групповой работе;

- воспитывать интерес к культуре англоязычных стран;

-воспитывать положительное отношение к достопримечательностям Лондона;

1. Организационный момент

Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you!

P.   We are glad to see you too.

2. Объявление целей урок.

Teacher:   Today we’ll speak about… Look at the blackboard. What are you going to speak about?

Pupils:  About London    

Sure. Today we’ll speak about London and its sights.

 First, we’ll train our tongues, after that we’ll review London’s places of interest and we’ll check up your homework. So, what are you going to do at the lesson?

 – I am going to get a good mark;

 - I am going to train my pronunciation.

P4: There are a lot of museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas and parks in London.

P5:  London is a mixture of old and new buildings.

5 .Актуализация лексических навыков.

 Teacher: You are right. London has a lot of places of interest. What places of interest in London do you know? Match the two parts of word-expressions to get the names of the sights in London.  

Let’s check. Let’s read the right expressions  together.

6. Совершенствование навыков монологической речи.

  Teacher:    We are going to travel together.  What would you like  to visit in London?   Please  tell us about London’s sights.

P1.- I would like to visit  Big Ben.  It is the famous clock in the tower and it is a big bell.  You can hear it every hour.

People say that it is a face of London. It weighs 13.5 tons.

 P2.- I think it’s better to visit  Buckingham Palace.  It is the London home of the Queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. There are 600 rooms in it.

 P3.- In my opinion,  it is  better to go to the Houses of Parliament.

 It is a place where the British   Parliament sits.

It consists of  the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

P4.- What do you think about  the Tower Bridge?  It is the oldest and famous bridge across the Thames.

It is next to the Tower of London.

It opens and ships go up and down the River Thames.

P.5. –I would like to visit  St. Paul’s Cathedral.   It is a fine cathedral in central London. It was built by Sir Christopher Wren.

Teacher:  Now you’ll see  another  sights of London. Try to guess. What is it?  Let’s read.

P6.  - It is the best-known church in England. It was built by King Edward in 1065.

The coronation of all British kings and queens takes place here.

Some famous English people are also buried here.

P: It is Westminster Abbey.

Teacher:  You are right. Who wants to read?

P7. -It has a long history. In the past it was a fortress, a prison, a castle and a zoo.

There are a lot of ravens at this place.

There is a legend that without them the Tower will fall.

Nowadays this building is a very popular museum.  

P. -It is the Tower of London.

Teacher:  You are right. Let’s read this one.

P8. - It is the central square of London and traditional place for people to meet.

 All sorts of protest meetings are held there.

The statue of national hero Admiral Nelson stands there.

P-It is Trafalgar Square.

P9.   It’s the biggest observation wheel in the world.

It is situated on the banks of the River Thames in Central London. Its height is 135 meters.

10. -It is a famous museum of wax figures. They have wax figures of all the famous people in the world.

P -It is Madame Tussauds’ Museum.

 Teacher:  You know a lot of places in London. But you can lose your way. It will be very important for you to ask some help.  Take these cards and  put  the sentences in the right order. And then read your  dialogues.  You have five minutes to do it.

1. - Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to Westminster Abbey, please?

-   Oh. It is very easy.  You see the Houses of Parliament. Near the Houses of Parliament you can see Westminster Abbey.

- Oh. I see. Thank you very much.

- You are welcome.

 2.- Excuse me.  I am looking for the Bloody Tower.

      I’d like to see this place. Can you tell me  where is it, please?

    - It’s just in front of you. You don’t  know,  but the Bloody Tower is a part of the   Tower of London.

Teacher:  Look at the screen. What do you see in the picture?  - Yes , it’s a Tower.  I have an interesting story about this  magic place. But in this story there are some missing words. Help me please. You will put missing verbs from the box in the right form. Read, translate and answer the questions.
