Урок- соревнование « В мире спорта» по учебнику Деревянко  New Millennium English-5.

Задачи и цели урока: Обобщить знания учащихся лексики по теме «Спорт»; совершенствовать навыки чтения, аудирования, развивать способность обобщать, делать выводы, работать в группе; воспитывать у учащихся познавательный интерес, расширять кругозор.

План.

1. Организационный момент в виде беседы с учащимися о дне, дате, отсутствующих и задачах урока.

T. Hello, group! How are you? Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What date is it today? P. It’s January, the 29-th.

Today we’ll play different games and see who the best is. We shall read, talk a lot about sport and do some grammar tasks.

Let’s start our lesson and divide into two teams. Everybody come up to me and take any stripe you like.

So, pupils with black stripes are the first team, another team has green stripes. All of you have letters on your stripes. Guess the name of your team. The colour of the stripes will help you.

Your team is "Football” Another team is "Baseball”

Let’s start playing games. You’ll get points for each right answer. Be ready to get as much points as you can. At the end of the lesson we’ll count them and see who has got morepoints.

Game 3 "Grouping”

Let’s check how well you know the words on the theme "Sport”. Take the sheets of paper. Look at them. There are sports and sport games there. Your task is to divide them into 3 groups: Sports, used with the verb "do”, "go” and "play. Be quick. You’ll get one point for each right group.

 All pupils must take part in it. There is a small text on the sheet of paper There are 8 sentences in the text. Each pupil must remember one sentence in turn. The 1-st pupil- the first sentence and so on. Be very attentive and learn the text by heart. You can get 8 points for this game.

Match the right answers to the questions. You can get 8 points for each right answer.

2. It is the most popular game for boys. Two teams of 11 players play it on the sportsground. The players kick the ball with feet. (football)

3. This game is very popular in Canada and in Russia. Two teams of players play this game on the ice. Boys like this game too. It is played in winter. (hockey)

4. This game is played by boys and girls. Two teams of players play it on the playground. The players throw the ball into the basket. (basketball)
